      Tenuous and vague one, but Mark Jones scored a bizarre one for the Scarlets v ?Treviso? In the late 00s.
      He was tackled and not held, but his forwards cleared out over the top. But as no Treviso player initiated the ruck (old laws), and Jones hadn’t been tackled, he got to his feet and emerged from the mass of bodies and sprinted for the corner.
      Try was given, but looked bizarre.
      There is also an Arwel Thomas try for Swansea v ?Newport? around 2001. Both teams assumed there was a break in play so huddled. Thomas and the referee were on their own, and he took it quickly. Running in unopposed. As he hadn’t indicated he was going for goal, he could still take a tap penalty. It was just bizarre as the other 29 players had huddled up.
      Sorry, extremely tenuous, I’d be amazed if you found either of these!

    2'45: this happened during european cup final. Since we called in french rugby this kind of error : "une poitrenade" as this Clement Poitreneaud who made this mistake. He was 22 years old
    BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT WAS the reaction of all the team (trainer, paettners, including the captain): Nobody heap on him (french verb "accabler")
    The following year He wins with Tolouse another european cup.
    When he retired (2016), he was the player on the top 5 of the most important number of game in the european cup (96), and won 3 time of this cup.

      @karlkavanagh4723 Před 2 lety

      I vaguely recall it being done in an old Wales game. Vannes tried it recently in a D2 game against Angouleme but it was disallowed for unsporting conduct....World Rugby law 8.20: If the team indicates to the referee the intention to kick at goal, they must kick at goal. The intention to kick can be communicated to the referee or signalled by the arrival of the kicking tee or sand, or when the player makes a mark on the ground....A sly dog maneouvre would need to be carefully orchestrated not to anagonise the ref.

    3:33 Try is valid. It’s a small detail in the law book. Try is only disallowed when attacking ball carrier held the ball into try zone. If the ball is already in the try zone, by for example a kick, a player can score a try even if they are in touch during grounding.

    • @Tuckersluckier
      @Tuckersluckier Před 3 lety +2

      You mean the one where a quick flick pass (skill) goes wrong and is intercepted with a boot, then decent footwork and a straight chase, then a fumble after gathering but caused by a tackle, and one dick of the day moment where he passes it back to no one (but may well have been a rules knowledge attempt to disguise an intentional pass out the dead ball line)...then a good bit of skill to get the downward touch and try?
      That one.
      Has some similarities, but it’s a stretch. Where are all the other “multiple” examples?

      @@davidw4970 Hyperbole lad, hyperbole. Biarritz' try vs Colomiers on Thursday to win the game is another good example.
      Good analysis of the try, I'd also add that the fullback slowly jogs to the ball while it's in the in-goal area, long before the winger is anywhere near it.
      However, my point is, if you can accept that the try I mentioned above is not an advert of men's rugby (professional rugby as well by the way), then how is one try in one match (look at the scoreline, the team conceding clearly have a tendency to concede) an advert for women's rugby?
