  • When you see an SV badge on a Lamborghini you know you're in for a thrill especially when that badge sits proudly on the back of a Diablo!
If you remember computer games of the 90's then chances are you spent time behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Diablo playing Need for Speed. For most of us that is a close as we ever got to this iconic raging bull BUT as luck would have it we have just consigned this epic SV and sent James out to take a closer look.

This is really a stuff of dreams for 90's teenager. Apart from Carrera GT, this is pretty much peak cool since sixties.

I once let a Diablo out into traffic so I could get a good look at it. The driver waved his thanks and I believe it was Rod Stewart. This was near Epping.

Back when these were new, a friend had a Scuro Blue example. It was everything a supercar should be, just an epic experience. This brought back happy memories.

I’m lucky enough to have this car hopefully to drive again in the next couple years. My favourite lamborghini but the merci is a strong competator for speed.

    "...in the Cizeta-Marauder [sic] C16T."
*No, and no.* Nothing to do with marauding. The project that Gandini designed the bodywork for, was funded by Giorgio Moroder _muh-ROE-dah_ but none of the cars had his name.
"... it's (a) really gorgeous colour, when you catch it in the light there..."
Numpty means *you can see the dark blue when you look at it* , and this is possible even under a typically glum sky like that.
"... gone are the quad fog-lights, and you've just got the two either side... there's an awful lot going on... you obviously notice the pop-up headlights.... and the vents on the bonnet... two either side on the bonnet here...
*No, no, no, no and no.* The front has _less_ going on than any other Diablo variant. The pop-up lights are totally hidden - that's the whole idea! There's only 1 fog-light and 1 vent/scoop either side. Even though you told us twice, there's _no_ vents in the bonnet. Can't tell us what those front guard vents _are_ for? The scoop at the side window is the induction inlet, not cooling.
The inlet above each rear wheel goes to the radiator on each side. The lowest vents, in the front spoiler and sill panels, are for _brake cooling_ , not engine cooling.
"...you need those (normal sized mirrors) to be stuck out a little bit further, so you can actually see what's behind you."
    *No words* 🤦🏼‍♂️
"There's no visibility for the driver to look through the vents out the back."
*What?* Loves hearing his own voice, and much more than using it to express a coherent idea.
"Towards the back we've got this lovely light cluster arrangement..."
*No, it's arguably the most bland aspect of the entire exterior design* , and is one of the elements that Gandini actually disliked, and over which he left the project. If you had read the Diablo page on Wikipedia a little more thoroughly, you'd know this.
"... (lifts cover to look at engine) What's really cool about this, other than this massive engine block sat here..."
*You can't see the engine block* , and it's not that big anyway.
It's clear this clown has only skimmed over the Diablo page on Wikipedia, and watched Harry Metcalf's video from 2019.
It's that attitude which explains why this is such a sloppy, amateurish production. Half a dozen video producers have posted far more informed and informative video reviews about this and other Diablo models.

If only it performed as good as it looked... and I am a Lambo fan and the Diablo my favourite. However, only the 6.0 and the GT are more or less as fast as they look. And still cant follow an F50 or an XJ220, for not saying an F1, on a track. The SE30 Jota maybe its the only one that is really sharp and focused. But it sounds and looks a million bucks and on the straights it goes.

  • @BobGeogeo

Lovely car, slow drifting of the focus from blurry to sharp gets old.

Amazing machine, my favorite Lamborghini, but when compare to the Ferraris ate the time F40 and F50, even they are close on paper on real world the Ferraris are another level, are way faster, precise, lighter etc! But this SV and the Murcielago SV always will be The Lambos for me! Together with the F40 and F50 are my favorites cars!

    • @SMlFFY85
      @SMlFFY85 Před 3 lety +5

You're comparing Lambo's cheapest Diablo to Ferrari's halo cars, no wonder it's a bit lop sided in favour of the prancing horse.

Let’s get one thing straight having driven one of them, they’re bloody awful!!!🤦🏼‍♂️🤯😂
Anyone can wax lyrically about a crap car and make out that it’s brilliant, it’s an over priced remnant of the past, it’s just a dick waggling car, oh look at me I’ve got a “lambo” they drove like crap, they ride like crap, they look awesome that’s it!
It’s a one trick pony that deserves to be left parked up and not driven as it’s just a disappointment!
Sorry but all the cars produced swing part of the vag group have been a million times better, you buy a lambo if you have a really tiny package the end, or feel inadequate for another reason due to modern human psychology!
Oh yeah you buy a Lamborghini on a finance deal… having worked in the industry for years I’ve never listened to such cack, that’s been another waste of my life whilst alive, thanks for that👍🏻😂
