the A8 has decent APU graphics they used a Horrible Dedicated GPU

I built a PC for my mom with that exact Zion case. Linus isn't lying, I cut myself twice in that case.

Hey, when I was in school, we had Burroughs and UNISYS Icons. Those things ran lowly Intel 80186 CPUs, had CGA graphics (4 colours) and used some weird version of UNIX called "QNX". Hot damn, did they suck! I had already mastered MS-DOS and the schools were throwing this crap at me? UGH!

My first PC had something related, I can't remember exactly but I think it was an S3 Virge or something (Pentium 233 MMX) and in most games running in software was better than running on the hardware. Solution was to buy a VooDoo 2 that I was really happy with :)

Why not drop the gpu and put that money towards more ram. I think the integrated graphics on the A8 could handle most of those games.
True. I mean, this graphics card itself had DDR2 Ram, while the basic RAM of the PC is DDR3. If the integrated GPU uses the regular RAM from the PC, then the theoretical memory bandwith is greater then this of GPU, meaning better theoretical performance...
Because the point was to test the cheapest machine possible.
Yet for the same price, spending more on RAM instead of a dGPU should actually yield a much better result.
In that case it $20 cheaper as the dedicated GPU is a waste of money:p

I recently switched from Chrome to Vivaldi because apparently, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, a Ryzen 5 1600x and a GTX 960 are not enough to run Chrome these days. Best browser I've ever had (Vivaldi, not Chrome, duh).
If you have 2GB of RAM, use Mint Xfce. Works great even with potatoes.

Source: Had a system with one of those before, A8-3870k, 8GB RAM and a 7200RPM Hard drive, no discrete GPU.
they could have made that conclusion after they pulled that GPU out, added a stick of RAM off one of their shelves, and redone the benchmarks with a proper amount of ram. Then turn around and say the money they TECHNICALLY could have saved could have gone towards the RAM like you said, and voila. We coulda seen what it was really capable of.

This is the second video I've seen where the color grading is so bad that body parts turn orange. For all the computer gear and technical know-how they have, these guys can't seem to nail correct skin tones.
I think they must have been on a filming spree that day because he had used carrots to jam into a huge heatsink fan they made a video they released not too long ago.

A while back I built a "decent" system from new egg for around 400 bucks. I wouldn't call it great, but it worked. And it was a good starting point that I upgraded as I went. As you guys have proven many times before, if you are trying to build something on the cheap used is normally the best way to go. Or I think most people that like to tinker are like me and have a lot of spare parts around they can use. So you are not always buying a complete system right off the start. I normally have a power supply, drives and video cards laying around I can use to get a system up and running until I can afford something better to swap out. If you are starting with nothing it makes things quite a bit more difficult.

Oh gosh. This reminds me of my noob days with pc's when I ordered a dell OptiPlex on Amazon with intel hd graphics and trying to play new vegas at 20-25 frames. Went to Best Buy and with the rest of my part time check, purchased a gt 730 and thought I was a god, playing vegas at almost 45 frames lol
