  • We left the last vid on the solar fence charger build hanging with some charge controller issues, so here is the field install so it wraps up the build. Hope you enjoy! God bless!

Fill the pvc conduit with spray foam and put a rubber gasket on the lid maybe a brick on lid to keep the wasps out

Sally and I will be installing our solar fence this weekend. We have the fence up, just installing and testing the charger. No DIT for us, ours is out of the box Parmak 6 volt system.

I think you'll get good performance with the Parmak Solar Pak 6. We run 2 Solar Pak 12 chargers (for several years) and have had excellent results with them. Use good grounding rods. Your charger is no better than your grounding system. Good luck!

How many acres are you fencing with this system. I’m looking to do five acres and want to run five strands of wire. I have foxes, river otters, skunks, and coyotes to deal with.

About 4 acres with 4 strands. I would NOT recommend the Parmak Magnum 12...junk. The Solar Pack 12's are good chargers, this Magnum 12 was pure junk. We got rid of the Magnum 12 and replaced it with a Power Wizard PW5000XD charger and are quite pleased so far.
