I've had the chance to drive one for 24hrs yesterday. It was simply amazing. No range anxiety for the daily use. And uphill is just like a rocket! If i could own one i would immediately.
You are such an amazing person and your contribution to the EV scene is invaluable. Thank you for everything you do. And of course I'm supporting you on patreon!
It is so nice to see the quality of the filming has stepped up. The Patreon funding feels totally worth it when you get some glorious cut away shots to really sell the story in between Roberts pieces to camera. Keep up the good work guys.
This car is one of rare EVs on market that come as standard with 3 phase AC charging. Nobody is talikng about that. Ionic, Geman EV, they all have standard EU EV plug, but lower 2 pins are left blank, so they support single phase only. Only car I know that supports 3 phase AC is Tesla (and maybe Regera). Please start talking about that.
Robert, I love you, I am addicted to your videos!!! not only you cover the content I love to watch you also make the world seem like a better place. THANK YOU FOR THAT!
Woo! Great show. The improved production value and style of production really shows. I liked the show before but it is really getting entertaining now. Good job guys. Thanks for doing what you do.
I like the bit at the end showing the battery charge/range during the journey. It's easy talking about numbers, but it is so much clearer when you can see them in action.
Thanks for making this video, i found it really annoying that no one had really made a good review of this new zoe! This is the best electric car channel ever!
The footage was incredible. A real treat for the eye. Major props to the crew. As for the video itself, it was quite an informative no-bullshit, real-world review. I really enjoy that, instead of all the dozens of other reviewers who just read facts off a spreadsheet. Though I'd be nice to make a combination of sorts, and include a little more info about the specs/pricing of the car alongside the personal experience. For example, what are the safety features, is there a 'frunk', how much does the base model cost, is there an option with 4-doors, instead of only 2, what is the max speed/0-100 time, is there any information about the computer hardware used, things like that. I know you can't fit everything about a new car into a 10 to 15 minute video, but a bit more information would be appreciated. Still though, it was still a great video, love your channel. Keep up the good work.
This show, the professionalism of the presentation and Robert's enthusiasm have done more to increase awareness and public interest than any manufacturer or government. For someone who hasn't come from a technical background he does a great job of sharing his knowledge on the topic.
Another awesome episode Robert, loved the ending that you showed the battery usage. That 41kWh battery would be great to see that in the Ioniq which I've fallen for ever since watching your review of it previously.
I just asked for a quote at my fleet company, and if/once I get my car, I'll also become a patron for fully charged, so thank you Sir for infoming me (along with the others), and keep up the good work.
I'v only recently subscribed to this channel and I must say that first of all I really like the punchlines of the hosts. I mean, "as far as the human bladder can stretch". I never imagined the mileage between bladder reliefs. Lol. really awesome stuff. Keep it up.
Definitely a nice car for the low-end. It's hard to compare it with other vehicles in terms of price and range because it isn't available in the USA and unfortunately EPA ratings and dollar amounts are my only frame of reference. I am wondering how the new Nissan Leaf will compare whenever it comes out.
The 8-Bit Guy The New New Leaf as opposed to the 30kWh Leaf is rumoured to be common rail with the future Zoe. The future Zoe will have an updated RLink that supports Android Auto and the apple equivalent and a new sporty motor option. The future Leaf will have either the 40 or 60kWh Nissan IDS Concept battery
I got so happy when i saw that you were in Portugal doing the video!! But then you passed by my house in Ericeira and... wow!! this must be a sign, I got to have an electric car!!!
Obidos is such a beautiful part of Portugal, i have a house there on Bom Sucesso and knew every location such a beautiful part of the world and great to see such a small medieval town being globally recognised.
We should all make a deal: The US and UK fully adopt the metric system and we (in some European countries at least) switch to the dot as decimal separator and to reading e.g. 53 as fifty-three rather than three-and-fifty, and everyone adopts the ISO 8601 way of writing dates.
Love the extra bit at the end showing the battery, looks like you get an extra 50km or so of range out of it. Amazing. So not only is the range not going down when going down hills, its going up, so double win!
Im glad you enjoyed Portugal and i think since 2 years have gone by, its time for a new visit , this time you will find a lot more electric cars driving around and fair amount of charging stations as well. Keep u pthe good work
Maybe long distance drivers deserve a loyalty discount that provides three free treatments a year: I'd call it the three PPP's programme: for prostate, piles, and psychological stress caused by range anxiety, lol
Tell your friend that I've talked to Renault software engineers about inserting a prostate drop down sub menu which will 'insert' a prostate examiner drop pin on the map.
I found this channel after taking an interest in Tesla and as soon i saw old Kryten i subbed :) now i have a new channel to binge watch, i shall reserve my donation until I'm up to date lol
The Zoe is the EV I have most experience with, it's not just a nice electric car, it's a nice car full stop. Glad to see it's doing well and getting a good battery upgrade. Things are really heading in the right direction. Oh and the quality of your reviews and videos in general are very professional these days! Nice to see Renault takes your seriously and values your opinion.
I love your videos, but PLEASE give us a walkaround of the cars, dashboard layout, design quirks etc. Such high production quality is being spent almost entirely on static interior shots of the driver's seat.
I was so excited to see this pop up in my subs list. It exceeded my expectations, both the car and the editing. Now I'm torn between the Zoe and the IONIQ. Suggestions?
Excellent point on the lack of "roaming" of the charging payment methods - fully agree. I also like the solution that Renault is proposing with their app.
sneekylinux I live in West Dorset, manage 1500 miles per month in a 24kwh leaf. Somerset is the worst, only partially redeemed by the electric highway.
That's about my mileage at the moment, the thing with me is i can't charge at home and my nearest 7kw charger is 25 miles away, but with the new zoe's range i wont worry about that so much..
sneekylinux Use www.zap-map.com to get a good idea of UK chargers and if you join www.rzoc.com on their Facebook page you can get the clubs special map ;)
If I put on a side that Im big red dwarf fan, love every episode of this show. Rob...you're driving on right side with any problem man! I just visited UK and as good driver I'm on right side I could not even imagine to drive on left one :D
Great video Robert, nice to finally see charging integration for availability and reliability, of course it can't prevent the plonkers ICEing the space but we live in hope. Either this car or the leaf will be the wife's next car I think, thanks.
Battery depletion shot was quite interesting and could potentially give us an idea on how your journey pans out over your specific driving distance- regen behaviour etc. Great idea!
Love your videos, man!! Great as always. I was wondering if you have any plans for videos on broader issues that you often bring up along the way, like updates on smart grid tech, how and why some times of day use very dirty energy, energy prices per technology compared, etc. You've done a many in the past but these technologies change fast.
goverment should make a rule that every gas station needs atleast 2 fast chargers on parkspot. it whould make traveling alot easyer. and no more range exiedy (my english suck some times)
The whole idea of a goverment is to enforce rules to keep your freedom from hurting others People freedom. Goverment should stimulate ev car by putting charging station at every gas stop. It benefits everybody. Goverment regulation is good in moderations. You want rules that keep the food and medicine healthy dont you. So why not the environment?
picknngrinnin Because Cuba go to far in government controlling industry. I believe in a hybrid system, one where government set the rules and can invest but businesses and people are free to invest in all areas of the economy with in the rule lay down by democratically elected governments and are free to derive profits from those investments.
picknngrinnin Because in the past people haven't, not because they are stupid but because they lack the detail knowledge to make decisions, bread being bulk out with all kind of crap to save on flour, or milk tainted with melamine. con artist selling mercury as medicine.
best suggestion.. as filling stations can easily accommodate up to 4 5 cars parked for charging even as if 2 3 are waiting. it shall increase the pump's income for sure.. make them a partner in this.. shell n other groups if given chance they shall invest..
Hi Robert. I'm a big fan of your show. Thank you for promoting my country. I hope you enjoyed. Did you know that Portugal was able to use only green energy for 4 days straight last year? Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the vid. You're production is getting better and better. Would love to see more vids like this. Great to see that EV's are coming to the market much faster than originally expected. I hope the EV market moves faster as the Tesla Model 3 and the new VW EV platform come to the market. Question is, is the infrastructure ready for millions of EV's ?
This might become the truly mass produced electric car. The range is incredible and it will get even better with the next step in battery technology. The mobile phones will drive that technology, because we all like the phones that need less charging.
This channel really makes me appreciate electric technology, Europe is heading in the right direction, I've only seen one electric car here in Australia
your videos are getting so professional. lovely! but one thing I always miss with your test videos is some math regarding the range. what I had to do to the numbers was to paus at the end to see the Zoe screen and then I could calculate the wh/km and the total range you would have gotten which was around 250km/155miles. and one thing you should have mentioned was that you were driving under really good conditions regarding EV energy consumption. slow speed and at warm temperatures. try taking the car here to Sweden at 0 degrees C and drive it at 75mph/120km/h and you would barely get 150km I'm sure. this is worth mentioning for credibility. you could probably get 400km/250 miles too if you drove very slow and carefully. it is good taking about both extreme cases and the average range. I hope you read this and agree with me and that you will use it in your upcoming videos. if you do I promise I will support you on Patreon. actually Ill maybe do it anyway because I really like what you're doing. you're great.
The near future is pretty exciting for electric cars. Hopefully the model 3 really takes off so the electric cars like the zoey both get marketed better and cheaper
Yeah, I particularly liked the range on the ZE40. Very definitely a realistic driving range for most people. I didn't know that the car could charge at up to 60kW though (I actually tested the 22kW charging version). Quicker charging was one of the only things that I thought was missing, so it's good to hear that that limitation can be overcome.
Thank you for a very interesting episode had been waiting to see this test for a while. Topped up with very relevant reflections on Mr Trump. Great show keep up the good work
Project Better Place suggested that you never buy the battery, you only pay for battery service, and then there needs to be a network of battery swap stations everywhere around the country. In 1 minute you should be able to swap the battery. I think consumer's anxiety is not just for the range, it's for the future of their investment in their new car. This just proves it, in 3 years, Renault doubles the battery range of their Zoe, how can any consumer be confident to invest in this type of car when they got here the proof that their investment could be outdated just 3 years from now? If Renault (and every other EV car manufacturer) just simply agree on quick battery swap standards (preferably few battery sizes that should be standard accorss EV car manufacturers), then if you need more range, or if you want to upgrade to a newer battery technology, then simply drive past any battery swap station, and according to your battery service package, you can simply swap your battery! People who want to pay a lower battery service charge can remain on older lower range batteries and they can swap less often, and people who need/want more range can just simply pay a little bit more for the monthly battery service fee! DONE!
Price could be something like €10K for the car WITHOUT the battery. But you should NOT be LEASING the battery. You should simply be paying a monthly battery service. It could be at something like €50/month +/-, depending if you want the newest battery range/charge tech or if you are ok with older tech, depending if you want to swap often or if you don't need to swap so much. That's it! Any user should easily be able to switch and swap battery ANYTIME they wish just simply by the app that automatically navigates to chargers AND to battery swap stations, if you feel like getting the newest battery this time because you might want to go on a road trip with the family, SIMPLY pay €10/month extra or something like that through the app, and you can swap your battery to the newest longest range and if you want to go back to the lower monthly cost, simply go back and swap to a shorter ranger older battery whenever you pass by a battery swap station again, this idea needs to become the industry standard. Renault as original backers of the Project Better Place idea, it should be a piece of cake for Renault to understand this requirement.
I'm still chugging around in a Renault Laguna 2.2 litre diesel and let me tell you it's a labor of love keeping it on the road especially with Renault's legendary reliability. Can't wait to go electric....
The cinematography in this video was amazing! Congratz to the Fully Charged team.
Thanks Ryan
Well, I'm not going to thank you Phil *tongue out, thumb on nose, fingers waggy, blows raspberry.
yeah i was very impressed too might have been late but they hit that golden hour and that helps heaps
Ryan Hare Yeah, but the other part of the care weren't filmed. Like the seat back.. It would be interesting to see it
Ryan Hare that's Portugal! Where else?!
Thumbs up for that awesome time lapse on the dash. It really shows how the range estimator works!
It is so nice to see the quality of the filming has stepped up. The Patreon funding feels totally worth it when you get some glorious cut away shots to really sell the story in between Roberts pieces to camera. Keep up the good work guys.
Can you add metric conversions via small on-screen text? Your non-UK/US viewers would be most grateful!
Mladen Milić and the newer i3 but only up to 11kW
Whether it's a good thing when other manufacturers are standardising on DC CCS for rapid charging is a matter for debate :)
Every EV from Mercedes is 3 phase (B-class, SLS e-drive, Smart e.d.3 and the trucks...)
Aren't they (Mercedes) horribly crippled by only pulling up to 16 amps per phase though? (and no rapid charging).
No Smart has only optional 3-Phase Charger, but yes you can get 3-phase charging.
Robert, I love you, I am addicted to your videos!!! not only you cover the content I love to watch you also make the world seem like a better place. THANK YOU FOR THAT!
well done on the transparency thing. it's much appreciated:)
Woo! Great show. The improved production value and style of production really shows. I liked the show before but it is really getting entertaining now. Good job guys. Thanks for doing what you do.
Gorgeous opening shots!
YES! PORTUGAL + FULLY CHARGED = AMAZING!
I like the bit at the end showing the battery charge/range during the journey. It's easy talking about numbers, but it is so much clearer when you can see them in action.
Love the last bit! Really gives the facts in a bite size piece as we we're all along for the ride. Good idea.
At last! A decent range ev for the masses.
All ze40 films so far have been just a bit flash, this has been a real world review, great.
Another great video Robert, this new Zoe with the ZE40 battery is the car many people have been waiting for!
Love the lighting in this video, it's amazing.
Great episode. Lots of great magic hour shots.
Thanks for making this video, i found it really annoying that no one had really made a good review of this new zoe! This is the best electric car channel ever!
was waiting for this one
TheSpector yup
excellent battery monitoring on the end. keep with good work. cheers!
Still though, it was still a great video, love your channel. Keep up the good work.
Jake Long plenty of that info on several forums, like this one: speakev.com/forums/renault-zoe/
Very cool car. I recently did a test drive, impressed.
This show, the professionalism of the presentation and Robert's enthusiasm have done more to increase awareness and public interest than any manufacturer or government. For someone who hasn't come from a technical background he does a great job of sharing his knowledge on the topic.
great video! thanks! always looking forward to every new video!
Another great video! I have just ordered my Zoe today, much excitement!!

Thanks for the timelapse and the review! It's very interesting to see real use statistics.
Brilliant video and a brilliant car I must say. Well, done, sir, well done!
appreciated your transparency ; feel that it is appropriate quid pro quo ; excellent video
Nice to see that you came to visit us at Portugal...... please came back more times
Yay Portugal! :) Nice to see my country in your videos!
Are you planning to do any more videos about your EVs?
At least one.. Unless I can get my hands on a Bolt EV or Prius Prime.
Awesome!
The 8-Bit Guy The New New Leaf as opposed to the 30kWh Leaf is rumoured to be common rail with the future Zoe. The future Zoe will have an updated RLink that supports Android Auto and the apple equivalent and a new sporty motor option. Thanks Fully Charged ,,,, Excellent Informative up to date , entertaining .
Amazing video Robert, loved it!
The fully charged team is getting pretty good at this CZcams stuff. Nice work.
I got so happy when i saw that you were in Portugal doing the video!! But then you passed by my house in Ericeira and... wow!! this must be a sign, I got to have an electric car!!!
Such a great show and some positive things happening in the world of electronic cars.
Obidos is such a beautiful part of Portugal, i have a house there on Bom Sucesso and knew every location such a beautiful part of the world and great to see such a small medieval town being globally recognised.
nothing better to cheer you up than Kryten showing off some new EV
Mario D. Zmaj You smeeeeeeeeg heeeeeeeed.
I bet you would get more views/fans if you fully adopted the metric system
And not forgetting temperatures...75F is nice and warm, -7C is very cold. They swap over somewhere around freezing :)
Might as well just stick to a single unit. Jumping from Km to M on and about was very confusing...
Where I am we changed over to metric in the 70s but I stiil convert to mpg
We should all make a deal: The US and UK fully adopt the metric system and we (in some European countries at least) switch to the dot as decimal separator and to reading e.g. 53 as fifty-three rather than three-and-fifty, and everyone adopts the ISO 8601 way of writing dates.
Lumpiluk I can agree to that
Always nice when the show passes near your house ;)
Love the extra bit at the end showing the battery, looks like you get an extra 50km or so of range out of it. Amazing. So not only is the range not going down when going down hills, its going up, so double win!
Love your channel!!! Good job!!! Hi from Romania
You were in Portugal! So cool! :D You have some audience here, me included
Im glad you enjoyed Portugal and i think since 2 years have gone by, its time for a new visit , this time you will find a lot more electric cars driving around and fair amount of charging stations as well. Keep u pthe good work
Does the ZE Pass come with a discount program for prostate exams? I'm asking for a friend.
I use the Newmotion App. Works Perfect with renault Zoë
I found this channel after taking an interest in Tesla and as soon i saw old Kryten i subbed :) now i have a new channel to binge watch, i shall reserve my donation until I'm up to date lol
This show just makes you happy
This is still my favourite fully charged video
The Zoe is the EV I have most experience with, it's not just a nice electric car, it's a nice car full stop. Glad to see it's doing well and getting a good battery upgrade. Things are really heading in the right direction. Oh and the quality of your reviews and videos in general are very professional these days! Brilliant ;0) Nice one Bobby :0) Thank you for the review ;0)
great review... I bought a Renault Zoe Q90, with big battery pack and qick charge engine. I will get it tomorrow. excited... :)
Thanks for visiting our country!!!
The part on the end were we can see the range of the car through the whole trip is a nice Idea. Maybe for the every car Review too :)
I love your videos, but PLEASE give us a walkaround of the cars, dashboard layout, design quirks etc. Such high production quality is being spent almost entirely on static interior shots of the driver's seat.
Yes I'll try and do something like that on future episodes. Thanks for the suggestion.
ScottishMichael There are lots of other Renault Zoe reviews out there though, it's a really popular EV since Nissan did a tic-toc release with Renault
Yeah... then it will just be a Doug Demuro video. These videos are fine as is.
Liked the bit at the very end there... more stuff like that :D
At last, now i will be able to consider going all electric out in rural Dorset.!!
sneekylinux I live in West Dorset, manage 1500 miles per month in a 24kwh leaf. Somerset is the worst, only partially redeemed by the electric highway.
That's about my mileage at the moment, the thing with me is i can't charge at home and my nearest 7kw charger is 25 miles away, but with the new zoe's range i wont worry about that so much..
sneekylinux do you live in an appartement ? You can acquire a road charger if necessary if you have underground parking
sneekylinux Use www.zap-map.com to get a good idea of UK chargers and if you join www.rzoc.com on their Facebook page you can get the clubs special map ;)
good video and car. the range is surprisingly high for such a compact battery.
Quite frustrating knowing you were literally less than 1km away from my home and I didn't get the chance to meet you! The video footage is amazing!
If I put on a side that Im big red dwarf fan, love every episode of this show. Rob...you're driving on right side with any problem man! I just visited UK and as good driver I'm on right side I could not even imagine to drive on left one :D
absolutely beautiful. MOAR PLEASE
Great video Robert, nice to finally see charging integration for availability and reliability, of course it can't prevent the plonkers ICEing the space but we live in hope. Either this car or the leaf will be the wife's next car I think, thanks.

I love your videos, fully charged! Hope to convince my parents to invest in electric vehicles
This channel really makes me appreciate electric technology, Europe is heading in the right direction, I've only seen one electric car here in Australia
An china. Which I'm betting on being the first country to ban combustion engines for cars.
I love the idea of using cars as grid backup! Basically as sort of huge Tesla PowerWalls (those are 3kW/h, this is 41 and a low end model S is 75!)
"As long as the human bladder can stretch"
As a 43kw Zoe driver this will be a game changer , can't wait to upgrade
your videos are getting so professional. lovely! but one thing I always miss with your test videos is some math regarding the range. what I had to do to the numbers was to paus at the end to see the Zoe screen and then I could calculate the wh/km and the total range you would have gotten which was around 250km/155miles. and one thing you should have mentioned was that you were driving under really good conditions regarding EV energy consumption. slow speed and at warm temperatures. try taking the car here to Sweden at 0 degrees C and drive it at 75mph/120km/h and you would barely get 150km I'm sure. this is worth mentioning for credibility. you could probably get 400km/250 miles too if you drove very slow and carefully. it is good taking about both extreme cases and the average range. Fantastic review! First time watching and loved the host! Too bad the Zoe is not available in Canada :( cheers!
The near future is pretty exciting for electric cars. Hopefully the model 3 really takes off so the electric cars like the zoey both get marketed better and cheaper
I think EVs will take off before the Model 3's launch. Most people haven't even heard of Tesla
you've got to be joking.
Yeah, they only have half a million reservations for the Model 3. No reason anyone would have heard of them
My experience in talking to people is that the huge majority have not heard of Tesla - that's over here in the UK.
no direct connection, but to me that helps explain Brexit.
ooooo very tempting, got a leaf currently but this could be a game changer
Many thanks Robert
Yeah, I particularly liked the range on the ZE40. Very definitely a realistic driving range for most people. I didn't know that the car could charge at up to 60kW though (I actually tested the 22kW charging version). Quicker charging was one of the only things that I thought was missing, so it's good to hear that that limitation can be overcome.
Great job!
Portuguese viewer here!!! Currently studying in the UK. Hoje you liked my country.
Wow!!. Look at you with an international fugitive!!
Thank you for a very interesting episode had been waiting to see this test for a while. Topped up with very relevant reflections on Mr Trump. Great show keep up the good work
so cool that you have met ghoson!! omg!!!
Hope you really enjoyed Portugal! 🇵🇹
Well! No interpretive dance this week hey. Shame!
U_U
Andew Tarjanyi I wanna see him do his 'Brexit and Trump' dance with 'Clean and Cheap'!
he ran out of acid, need more patreon money
Love this and love your humour! ❤️🇬🇧🇪🇺

The Zoe is an utterly brilliant little car.
