This house just SCREAMS good taste and class.
I was 14 when Jackie became First Lady. I would read everything I could find that had to do with her. I would cut out pictures of her, study what she was wearing then try to dress like she did. My mother and I would each put on the famous pill box hat, and white gloves for church. What a beautiful person she was. I miss her.
Now, this is what I call a stunning home. You gotta have a lot of taste and class to restore a home like this to its former glory and bring new life to it. This is what I call my dream home.

This house is really pretty inside. The wallpaper, ceilings, interior design is all gorgeous. This is the first estate home I've really thought was pretty inside. A lot of thought went into everything, and you can tell.
Reminds me of the house "set" wherr High Society was filmed with Grace Kelly, another Irish-American beauty who became a Princess!!! How ironic they became friends as well.
A remarkable woman. Who achieved many things in her life.
I'm not surprised to see she lived in such a grand way. She was in a league all of her on.

I liked Jacqueline. She grew up with money, style, class upper crust breeding etc. When she went to France as first lady in the 60s she scared the pants off the snotty French because she was way past them. She made us look good.
If only we could return to those days???? Dreaming, simply dreaming.

It is a beautiful home, but I am sure it has been renovated, they didn’t have stainless steel appliances back then. And I don’t think they had open concept with huge center islands . I am sure Jacky would love it. I am sure it was beautiful in its original state also.
If I lived in that house I would treat HER like the child I never had. ❤

I absolutely adore these Georgian style homes with the large paneled windows, and clean architectural interior. the windows really make the place look nice and airy. and the crown molding on the ceilings are so gorgeous. Very nice and structured to perfection.

If she was already 13 or 14 when moving here with the stepfather & mom, where was she REALLY raised as a child? Her father was alcoholic and only held a family name; no real money. Where was she & her sister living?

I especially like the two pools and the view on the river. Very beautiful house, although the furniture a bit old fashioned to my taste. I also like the horse shoes collection above the fire place and the big terrace with steps. And the cute bell tower. (sigh)

Rita Contreras boarding schools give a much higher standard of education, most parents find it hard to send their children to boarding schools but it’s mostly for their own education and discipline
It was partly to provide a standardized education, partly to attend schools with good reputation, often because there weren't enough rich children to support a school nearby and also to free their parents to socialize. Pragmatically, children in boarding schools were safer than at home and less likely to feel spoiled by excessive deference from neighbors and servants.
