Tbh, I like Axel. His debut game is indeed not good, but he's welcome in my eyes turning the main duo into a main trio, cause personally, neither X or Zero are entertaining enough on their own. I like em dont get me wrong, they're cool but personality wise, Axel is a breath of fresh air here. Brings some balance to things, the other 2 are i guess, too no nonsense and about business, just to different degrees and different angles. In general I think X series realized too late that it needed more of a mainstay cast cause all the characters that I feel help in that regard like Axel or Alia for example are introduced when the series was close to the hiatus its in.
I just _need_ Capcon to drop the Copy Body _thing_ Axl does. Gameplay wise, I like having a rapid fire/fire at angles alternative to X, just like I enjoy playing as Bass. A younger, more humorous hunter is welcome. They just did their best to make Axl feel very "OC DO DO NOT STEAL!" by having him replace X in the first game *and* giving him the shapeshifting ability. Both because it was clunky and felt badly like Axl's creator(s) IRL wanted X but "better". For any wondering, I'm a Zero fanboy, but I like Axl better than X.

He may have a great design (especially in his armors) but instead of coming across as thoughtful or conflicted, his angsty nature just makes him seem whiny. Unless we go with the Ruby Spears version. At least that clip of him going ham with his X Buster is beautiful!
Light's hologram was a little cooler when he seemed like a frozen relic recorded in the past, like you were making an archaeological find or something. Newer Light capsules squawk at you about current events like he's the cast of The View.
X Kai is from the Japan only Megaman X trading cards series. And those card series has lore which you can check on megaman wiki since nobody I recall ever translated those cards.
With regards to the Hadouken upgrade in X1, I used to think that you had to grab the energy capsule up on the cliff and go through the boss gate to exit the stage and then do it again and again until it appears. I never knew that you could grab the energy capsule and then die over and over until years later. I honestly don't know why I thought that or where the idea came from. It probably was a friend from school or something.
I always get the feeling that Axl was supposed to be the Bass of the X Era but didnt came close in Character. No Rival, not as edgy. Just a Kid with the same multidirectional shot.

Apparently, the reason for Axl being introduced at all was Bass from classic. Several later classic megaman games had megaman, protoman, and bass. Axl is, apparently, the x series bass. In the sense that his armor is primarily black, just like bass. That is apparently the extent of the thought process that went into him.
Canonically? Tooterp is the grand robot master. His power? The 4th wall shattering ability to be the ultimate arbiter of all things Megaman. If Megaman were to ever be able to defeat Tooterp, he'd gain the power of trolling, because Tooterp would never give up his arbiter abilities. They're too powerful.
The developers intend for you to complete armored armadillos stage 5 times instead of dying. I remember reading egm or nintendo power and their strategy was that. Collect the power pellet and either complete the stage or exit, bet someone discovered you can kill yourself and make things faster and easier.
I thought he'd put the three navigators from X8 (Alia, Palette and Layer) as the top 3. I'm kind of surprised he didn't include Palette or Layer. I guess you can ignore them in X8 unlike Alia in the other games.

His complaints about Alia seemed to stem almost entirely from her being annoying in X5, and the X8 navigators don't have that problem because you can just... turn them off. You have a "no navigator" option. Granted, I think the complaint is a little harsh because you don't _have_ to listen to Alia in the other games she's in, but I'm not the one making the video LOL

Leave out the power - just tweak X7 and X8's story - and *now* Axl can be the Bass-like character. Because I *like* being able to rapid-fire and fire at an angle or straight up. I mean, maybe if I thought they'd ever done a good job with this copy ability I _might_ feel differently, but they've whiffed at it twice. Making me pretty sure it is just _too much_ to keep this tacked on gimmick for one of the main characters.

Not gonna lie.. i was experting much more.. i stopped half way, since you are clearly not a Real fan if you 'skip' the story, with Axel i agree, x7 wasn't a good start for him.. but as Fan, you would follow the story, you would k ow that Douglas isn't a better version of Autobot, Doug is his own character and was pretty much needed for the story, the computer room couldn't just exist from Alia, Douglas was a good fit. And i like his design, he looked exactly as he needed to. Since the 'dweeb' is an engineer.. X Kai isn't canon. X dive isn't either, it was made for fans to enjoy a mobile version with multiplayer functions. Hence Kai X X Dive was made to make no actual sense, it had no actual story line. And after a couple of years. They need to come with new characters, otherwise the game would die out real quick. Capcom did a great job with X Dive, bringing many fans together on a RockMan platform
Worst Megaman X Character is whoever decided to make X Dive, X Command Mission, X7 and X8 a NEW alternative canon. Megaman X is going straight towards Megaman Zero. End of discussion

I know she was in Dive but I wonder if there were plans in X4 for Iris to turn into Iris another versus the mech she was in for her battle.
