After years and years of listening to this man I can say this. I hope it helps the listeners and admirers of U.G. : What U.G. says is nothing new. However, it is markedly different from the normal way people think about reality but it belongs to a tradition of thought that is basically Eastern. Allan Watts put all these thinking in a Western-way. The thing about U.G. is that he uses an approach that leaves people uneasy instead of comforting them. The thing that bothered me for years about what he says is the so-called Calamity. I know understand that is of no consequence. Even if it did happen, the chap is dead. Human life is brief. Even enlightenment is bound to our lifetime. What's the importance of attaining all this impossible goals if we are to lose them at the point of death. And that's precisely what he points too. His message is simple. It's what we all know. That there is nothing really marvelous about experience. That there is no way to get "one-up" on the universe. It is absurd as he says. Leave life, put it away. Good bye. That's his message. The only insight is not to waste your life on pointless endeavours. :)

I know it is very difficult to be completely sure about what U.G. spoke all those years. But definitely it was out there clear and loud that it is realisation of truth or how one would want to state it which U.G. would not accept. But with repetitive listening one may arrive at a point where they may not find the need to keep a religious altar, do prayers, chant mantras, visit temples and even belong to any religion. Though I have taken mantra from Amma, I still understand his words, feel the inner meaning somewhere and somehow I don't carry an image of her in my mind and don't remain attached to her. I can also feel the mechanical repetition of the mantra is nothing more transcendent. But surely, every ritual, festival date, and even the caste identity and affiliation to a particular religion or all religions do not seem to stay in me anymore. U.G. has definitely worked on me in a beautiful way.
I would like to offer something. I could not hear this very well, so I gave up trying to listen. Did someone say that thought should be given up? We need thought to function. in growing food, making shelter and clothing. On the other hand thought is running we are not choosing our thoughts and they cause us to react, so we must be aware so thought does not cause us problems. Then we might ask "why do I think the way I do? We discover we are programmed. UG has taken the division that thought creates too far in that he claims he doesn't know why he is talking. How could he not know that? While pointing to the mess we've made of life. He is talking to end the division that creates the mess. The problem for me is that we need to make the division to function, like software. The fact that we take the software as the hard drive is where we run into trouble. The division creates the "self" which is not an actual entity, "FULL STOP".
Siva Srinivas UG said many times we know this here, for us there is no beyond. Only you can know what it means for you. You can’t have UG’s no answer. He is just present with no thought about it. He just barks like a dog ;)

I don't know if this is the gist of what he said but it is remarkable what I understood.. Basically he is saying that this whole pursuit of spiritually arises out of our deep insecurity and unhappiness within us about ourselves. We basically think we as we stand today are not perfect human beings and we want to change that and change that dramatically. We basically are not self confident and want to become something else. This lust/greed/drive to become something else sets on path to spirituality which people think is a shortcut to becoming this absolutely perfect person. The day we are happy with ourselves and comfortable in our skin ,accept and like for ourselves who we are this whole unrest will stop! As simple as it is I think it is quite an extraordinary thought..

Never established itself at all. No such calamatus happening here. But the deception of this place has always been so obvious here. The ADHD brain, automatically rejects the futile beliefs of mankind, not through any conscious choice, but completely naturally and instinctively. With DPDR the belief that I am here, is also rejected without any conscious will.

They were made by ug's friend Julie, whom he allowed to take many many hours of videotape of him. These were recently transferred into digital form by another friend of ug, which is were I got them. I thought others may be interested to see them, so I posted them, bearing in mind that ug would not mind either way, and its perhaps the reason why he encouraged Julie to follow him around with a video camera. A while ago I asked her and other friends if they minded, and they didn't seem to view these records as something private for just them . For many years the tapes were just sitting in an apartment in Mumbai, and it was only through the kind efforts of one of ug,s friends in India that they have been transferred to digital format. Interest in ug has always been small, so for those few that do have an interest it's fitting they should have the opportunity to see these.
Another friend of ug's , which is where I got them. I asked a while ago and no one seemed to mind if they were made public for the few people interested
For years the tapes sat in a box in an apartment in Mumbai and it is only through the efforts of one of ug's friends who transferred them that we can enjoy them now
Which has always been the case with ug, if you have an interest, everything has always been available at no charge, through the efforts of his friends.
