By far, the best looking 911 ever. Such a beauty where every part just fits perfectly and has its purpose. Doesn't scream at you: Look, im fast. It just is...
Very nice video. I saw this car at Porsche Wilmslow about 10 years ago. It convinced me to build my own! I studied every aspect of this car down to the smallest detail and then I spent the next five years building one. I bought parts from all over the world as I want to use all OEM parts and I built for sure the most authentic car I could. One detail, the carbon fenders/wings were an option in other countries but were fitted as standard on all the UK supplied cars. I can confirm they are expensive as my car has them! Also a genuine rear decklid (bought from LA). I believe if you (the guy making these videos) saw my car, you wouldn’t know the difference.
I’m pretty new to the 911 scene but I have to say it blows my mind that you don’t have at least a couple hundred thousand subs. You have great content and a fantastic connection with people in the know and great cars to review.
Great vid and car, the sounds of these things is underrated imo, just a quick note that the 997.1 gt2 had the same power as the turbo s but with a higher top speed of 204mph :)
Good video. I saw that very car GT02RRR at Porsche Wilmslow in 2012 and fell in love with it. Obviously well out of my price range but I was inspired and didn’t the next 5 years building my own based on a 997 Turbo. I studied photos and details of the car and have built the closest thing to a real one you will ever see. My car has the carbon fenders, polycarbonate side/rear windows, rear GT2 decklid, sunroof delete, full interior with carbon seats, full carbon interior package, the list goes on. You could put my car next to this one and apart from the colour you couldn’t tell them apart.
What an absolutely beautiful Porsche! LOVE the rear Wing, I wonder if it would fit on my 996 🤔 Keep up the great videos Lee. I'm in Sydney Australia and always looking forward to your videos 👍
There is an aftermarket wing that fits-had it on my GT2 spec 996 911 Turbo, there is a factory Porsche plug for the hydraulic assembly electronics to eliminate the failure light.
*Who the hell hit the dislike button? Looks and sounds glorious. Just wonder what I can do to make my old 996 look and sound a bit more like it? Must have been a fun day driving this one Lee.*
I thank you for this gift on my birthday. Maybe one day I’ll be able to put my hands on a steering wheel other than my 996 Targa. I love your videos, thanks for sharing. What’s new on your green 3,4L?
Lovely looking car. At 5m 25s you explain how the front wings are different to the 997 GT3 RS 4.0. Please could you explain in more detail because the 4.0 wheel arch extensions are not 'stuck on' and look identical to the 997 GT2 RS.
The 997.2 gt3rs 4.0 came stock with carbon fiber fenders, no stick ons, the 997.2 gt3rs 3.8 had the stick on flares. Most of the 997.2 GT2RS also had the stick on flares, however they were an option and the car featured in the video happens to have them.

I think arguably one of the best 911 of all time. What a dream machine.
Agreed!

One of the all time best IMO.
Agreed!

Most epic modern 911 of them all!
Certainly right up there for me.
The greatest model and sound
Brutal beast
Great because it's a Porsche, great because you got to drive it without buying it! Great job Lee!
Wanted this in matte red with carbon hood and gold wheels since it was introduced!
Beautifull 997, the last true 911
Agreed.
Another great video Lee about an iconic 911
Thanks Martin.

Thank you sincerely for the kind words. I'm grateful for the subs I have and enjoy what I do, the rest is a bonus!

Wow, I remember being at the North American launch for this car, and sitting in a silver one just like this. What a special car!

Lee! Tell me, how has your opinion of your 996 evolved after driving all these legends over the past few months?
Excellent video , thank you
What a car. Great insight. Thank you 🐐
My pleasure, good sir.
Really nice and good looking car
Great video Lee
Glad you enjoyed it

Happy birthday! I'm glad you're able to enjoy my videos. I'll have a few videos coming up shortly on my 996, it's been a while!
4.0 wheelarch extensions aren’t stuck on-they’re carbon and just the same as these 2RS ones I believe.
On this they are part of the panel, on the 4.0 they are not, and can be removed
@@simmo2745 4.0 wings were carbon as standard with extensions incorporates. 3.8RS had stick-on extensions.
BTW can we please have a life style mug with the “Rear of the year” illustration on it please! 😃
Great idea! I'll make it happen.
@@9WERKSTV let me know when it’s available and I’ll be the first to purchase 😃 PHAT Porsche all the way! 😄

2RS and 4.0 carbon wings are the same i believe. No stick-on bits.

Pure perfection before it all went a bit bloated and fast and furious by Porsche.
Wtf 19 only ??
New Channel name?
Yes, I posted about it on my community tab if you'd like to take a look.
You are testing a 1 year old car. The latest one dos 0-60 in 2point something seconds is auto only and has 700 horsepower
Correct, though the 997 is 11 years old.
🙏🏻👍🏼
Cheers Dav!
The car is a beauty minus the manual transmission.
Lol
