In today’s video I compare the iPhone 8 Plus to the iPhone 7 Plus to see what sets them apart. The goal is to find out which of these phones is a better buy, and which one you as a consumer should opt for.
The results were very interesting and I honestly was surprised by them.

if u have a iphone 6 or lower u should totally upgrade to the iPhone 8

Darcel Hill I had an iPhone 6s then I bought the 8, the speed is almost the same and the camera but physically, a lot has changed. You should upgrade because you’re gonna get water resistance and wireless charging
While you might think that is the case, try putting both the phones next to each other and try it again. The results will actually surprise you. Especially the camera!
The differences really do add up, however it isn't noticeable right off the bat.
However it is true that wireless charging and water resistance are very key features of the newer iPhones as well.

The 7 Plus is a fantastic phone, but I do recommend you try getting as good of a deal as possible on one or jump up to the 8 Plus. The 7 Plus is at this point almost 4 years old so while it'll run fine now, a year or two down the line you may run into some slowdowns.
The 7 Plus (and the plain 7, for that matter) has one thing that the 8 does not - and makes it far superior to the features vs. budget comparison:

That is true. I do feel like there is too much of a gap between the 64 & 256GB variants. However I do feel like it is a good deal for those who want higher storage, because instead of having to pay $200 extra, they now only have to pay $150. So it really comes down to how much you really need. I think that the 64GB is more than enough more most people, and only heavy power users need more than that.

Leonaldo Brum yes, I think that’s the deal breaker for me! I have the 128gb SE right now it’s been 2 years my contract just ended June 7. I hate that the 8plus only have the 64gb or 256gb options 64 to me is not enough and 256 is a bit too much. While the 7plus has the 128gb option I will never get a 32gb phone again like I did with my 5s not enough room at all

Yeah that makes sense. Both phones are very similar, with only a few things to differentiate them. Most people wouldn't be able to even take advantage of the 8 Plus' features.

I upgraded from 7 Plus to 8 Plus due to my contract up for renewal. Although both phones are identical in design it does have some huge differences.
The 8 Plus speakers is really one of the loudest I have heard. It is much louder than the 7plus.
Battery life on the 8 Plus is also much better thanks to the new A11 processor.
Lastly is fast charging. Yes you need to buy a separate charger for it but fast charging an iphone is truly great.
I easily get 40% extra battery life in less than half an hour of charging.
If you want the best iphone now but don’t like the iPhone X than the 8plus is a great choice.
It might be Apple last touchID iphone.

No need to get hostile my man. The speakers are really close to each other in the test, however in person the 8 Plus does have more bass and a deeper effect if that makes sense. Audio tests are tough because you really can't demonstrate all the aspects of a speaker on video.
While there isn't a big difference, anyone who's used a 7 Plus will definitely be able to identify the difference if they were to hear the 8 Plus.

To be honest The 7 plus and 8 plus are basically identical cause The iPhone 7 plus is great and has great features a normal person would want a phone like that. A person who has some money to burn would buy the iPhone 8 which is more fancier due to the glass and the iPhone X would have been more suitable for a person who uses the best gadgets of all

I would not recommend it at this point unless you only plan on using it very short term. Software support is most likely to end within a year, and this phone is now running a 4 year old processor which will start to show it's age. The iPhone 8 Plus or XR would be a much better buy in my opinion.

The idea behind the box is that not everyone has had an iPhone before, and it provides some what of a first look at the device.
Not to mention that people do enjoy watching the experience of buying a new device and opening it up for the first time. Just look at Unbox Therapy, he built his channel completely on the basis of unboxing items. So there is definitely a market out there for these unboxing videos.

Lessons learned: If you have the 7 or the 7Plus then don’t bother upgrade to the 8 or 8Plus. If you have the 6Splus or older then it is worth to upgrade to the 8 or 8Plus if you still want to use the home button

I upgraded from a 6 plus to a 7 plus because I don’t do much on my phone but get on here, and other social media websites... text and talk so what sense would it make to pay more for a phone that looks exactly the same despite color as the cheaper phone 🤷🏽♀️

Get the iPhone 8 Plus! There is no Jet Black option for the iPhone 8 Plus. It comes in Space Gray instead as seen in this video. I would honestly recommend staying away from the Jet Black because they scratch way too easily.
I had iPhone 7 Plus for three years! Now I upgraded to the 11 pro Max I think iPhone 7 Plus is the same thing with the iPhone 8 Plus!

I'm so thankful for this video cause I have an had android for far too long and have decided to switch to iphone.. I have ALWAYS thought "oooow the newest version is the better version" BUTTT after watching this video I have realized that newest is not always better... it's obviously cheaper to go for a 7 plus especially now a couple years later after this video! I'm glad you found the video useful. While I do suggest people buy the newest phone they possibly can I also do like it when people set a budget and stick to it. It's the smartest decision to buy the newest phone you can find in your budget. There are always new phones right around the corner, so buying the newest one doesn't do much unless you decided to buy a new one every year.

I have the 7 plus in jet black and it’s still my daily. It’s in mint condition after 4 years. The only negative is that the first case I bought for it stained my phone, (the back) it was so devastating man. But it’s still a great phone til this day.

So here I am with bith iphones😂🔥🥂so from experience for years on this phones. The iPhone 7 Plus is great fast supportive Touch ID. Louds pretty fast. Pretty decent camera. The first 3 years I had the 7 plus great🙌🏽but it’s at its finally breaking point. It’s crazy durability it’s amazing. First time I cracked the screen was on accident I dropped face down and shattered the whole screen. Broke Becuase I had a screen protector not a tempered glass🙁.with no case. Only reason I had to upgrade is I was running in a park just enjoying the day with family. Out of nowhere it poured crazy took videos and pictures while it still worked properly. 24hrs past and started glitching. Calling random people was unresponsive. So had to go in 2 days later and go for the iPhone 8 Plus. My chick at the time had the iPhone 8 Plus and loved the way the pictures came out in portrait mode! Nice sleek and shots better the iPhone 7plus..

One thing I’ve noticed is the iPhone 7 Plus is wayy more louder then the 8 plus for some reason.
I just can’t explain from going to a iPhone 5s to 7plus at the time. When I first purchased it I loved the thumbing on the back of the phone you could feel the vibration. A mini earthquakes in your hand when you have the 7plus full volume.

Personally I would recommend the Black. It’s the best looking one in my opinion and requires the least amount of care. The silver is a nice option too, it’s very clean and sleek. Honestly can’t go wrong with any color on this phone!

Honestly the 7 Plus is a great phone. If you can't stretch your budget it's fine because the 7 Plus offers almost 85% of the 8 Plus. So it's not that big of a deal. However since you are on the 6S, I am not sure if you will be comfortable with the size jump. Just try out the 7 Plus at a store and see if it comfortable fits your hands and pockets. If the size is not comfortable, the iPhone 8 is probably the best option!

While I do agree that the 7 Plus is an excellent phone, it's a disservice to say that the 8 Plus and 7 Plus are the same. Especially after a few years, we clearly see how the processor advancements are helping the newer phones handle newer apps a lot better.
However, budget wise the 7 Plus is still one of the best options out there.

Depends on how much space you are using on your current phone. Unless you have 45+ GB of data on your current phone, the 64GB 8 Plus will be more than enough!
Also if you aren't in a rush I would suggest to wait for a couple of months because the new iPhones are just around the corner!

Both are really good, if you plan on using the phone without the case then don't buy the Jet Black.
The Jet Black gets scratches easily, so you definitely need to use it with a case.

I got the iphone 8 plus because I had an upgrade an I couldn't afford the iPhone Xr right now. I got the iPhone 8 plus for $15.00 a month for 256 gigabytes an I like the camera better on the iphone 8plus than on the iphone 7plus. Also, I was paying sprint $32.00 a month just to use the phone because my contract was paid for. lol I hope that made some sense to you everyone. Have a great day everyone
Congratulations on the new phone! I'm assuming you're in for a 24 month contract, which makes the phone a pretty killer deal especially for the 256GB one, that still sells for $849 from Apple! As long as you're happy with the phone don't worry about what else is out there, newer and better phones are always around the corner.

The battery is a relatively inexpensive, so it's something I wouldn't worry about too much. Plus at 90 or 80% it's not going to be too long before you'll want to get a replacement.
I would definitely recommend the iPhone 8 Plus over the 7 Plus in this situation. Do look over the 8 Plus carefully to make sure the cameras, speakers, display, buttons, and other features are all working since it doesn't have a guarantee. The reason why I recommend the 8 Plus is because it has a better processor and since the 7 Plus is already 4 years old, it is slowly starting to show its age. You'll get more life out of the 8 Plus if you buy it and replace the battery.

It depends on 2 things:
1. How much space does your current phone have, and how much of it have you used up?
2. Do you plan on filming a lot of 4K video on the phone?

Obviously u will definitely regret buying 7 plus cuz its not support fast charging. Bruh i own 8 plus and 7 plus and the different from charging time is mind blowing. 50% in 30 mins with 8 plus but its only 35% in 30 mins with 7 plus. That sick and u do not need to worry about the battery cuz its alrd certified with 8 plus but not with 7 plus

I wouldn’t say the X has all the better stuff in it. I returned my X for the 8 plus. I hated the X. The screen was so narrow and when watching a video the screen size was similar to a regular sized iPhone. If I zoomed in the notch was so obtrusive imo. Some people love the 8 plus. Not everyone wants the X.

I didn't notice how much better the wider screen on the 8 Plus was until I switched back to it after a month of using the iPhone X. The wide screen really does make it feel like it has a larger screen of the two.
I also do find the notch to be absolutely infuriating while trying to watch videos on the phone. The thing is though I've just kinda learned to ignore it because the OLED screen really does make it for it in my opinion.
it really does. you don't seem to notice the extra height on the screen on the x but you really miss the width. reviewers of the X tend not to mention this. they concentrate on how tall the x is. plus a lot of that is cropped in apps that haven't been optimised.

so I'm torn I'm getting a iphone 7 128gb free in a few days, but I also have the means to buy an iphone 8 plus 64gb, should I save my money and stick with the 7? Or should I move up to the iphone 8(even though I have a free iphone 7 on the way?) I'm upgrading from the iphone SE 2016 16gb.
Depends on how long you are planning on using the phone. If you only plan on using the phone for about a year the 7 should be fine. If you plan on keeping it any longer go for the 8 Plus it'll be worth it.

7 plus is better than the x and 8 plus in my opinion, they just have a few tweaks to them & a little faster
Yes, the changes between the 7 & 8 Plus aren't that big.
However between the 7 Plus and the X is a different story. Yet, I can see what you mean by the 7 Plus being a "better" phone. It's definitely a better value in comparison the iPhone X considering you get a lot of the features of the iPhone X, in the 8 Plus/7 Plus.

That is quite a dilemma! I'm going to make things worse here before I make them better. There is most likely going to be a new iPhone SE that will be announced in 2-3 weeks.
So in my opinion you have 4 choices not 3: The 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, & 2018 SE.
One thing that is important is how much you are willing to spend, and what size you find the most comfortable.
If you are looking for a smaller and lighter phone, stick with the iPhone 8 and 2018 SE. If you are okay with the larger size, and want the larger display I personally think that it is wiser to go with the iPhone 8 Plus because it has an excellent processor and a very good display.

I'd say that the 8 Plus is the better choice in 2019. The iPhone 7 Plus is now over 2.5 years old, and I think that your best option for longevity is the 8 Plus.

It all depends on what your budget is. If you can stretch your budget to afford the iPhone X, you'll most definitely like it. If you can't stretch it that much I would say that at this point the 8 Plus is also a very good choice and you get almost everything you get out of the iPhone X in it barring the display and front portrait mode features.
Unless you get the iPhone 7 Plus for a crazy good price, I think at this point it isn't the Best Buy. It is older and will definitely perform worse than the 8 Plus/X as time goes on and we get more software updates.

Around 99% of smartphones I see are on cases. I don’t see much of a concern. If they’d want to use theirs naked, front and back tempered glass and ceramic protectors are widely available.

I think that if you plan on keeping the phone long term, the 8 Plus is a better choice. If you plan on changing with 1 or 2 years, the 7 Plus is the smarter way to go financially speaking.

There is a huge difference in low light camera between these 2.also noticeable difference in speakers output.8 Plus Silver looks awesome.indeed I choose 8 Plus instead of iPhone X.btw nice videos u r making.
Haha! I'm not usually a big fan of silver, but this time it doesn't look too bad. The low light performance did surprise me as well, the iPhone X actually does even better than the iPhone 8 Plus!

Buy the 8 Plus. It has the newer processor and will get software updates for longer.
In fact I also recommend the new iPhone SE which is in the same price bracket but is much more updated and modern in terms of processor and camera capabilities.

great video,its important to all smartphones reviews to be more concern about overheating issues on the phones not only talk about the the camera, finger print sensor video recording and audio performance looks like thats all they care about, personally i do concern more about videos, movies and games perfonmance and of course the heat on the phone, just my opinion, great review. thanks.

The day I shot these camera samples, I was alone and had no one helping out. Which meant that I couldn't really take any portrait photos at that time. However if you were wondering how they compare (I've taken many afterwards), they are EXACTLY THE SAME! The portrait modes between the 7 and 8 Plus are really hard to tell apart.
Auto Technica I was talking about how the iPhone 7 plus doesn't have lighting portrait and those fancy modes, the regular portrait mode is going to be almost the same

The Matte Black is a lot easier to keep clean and free from scratches and you don't have to worry too much about fingerprints/smudges.
The Jet Black does look a lot more exclusive and has a unique look but it does scratch very easily and will show fingerprints a lot more.
If you can take care of the Jet Black, it definitely has a very appealing look and does look really good with a clear case. If you don't think you'll be able to keep the Jet Black clean, stay away from it because it will get scratched up very easily.

the cameras are almost identical, but the 8 plus has a better video resolution. you should be good with both, since they're almost the same thing.
But the glass back is more breakable, so if you go to a lot of concerts it's not a good idea hahaha

As other comments have suggested the 7 Plus does have a very identical camera setup, I would still suggest that the 8 Plus is a better option in 2019. If you have the ability to wait and save up, I would recommend the 8 Plus. Why I recommend it over the 7 Plus is because it has a newer processor and some improved camera modes that will really age better compared to the 7 Plus.
However, the 7 Plus isn't bad at all either. Whichever one you choose, you can't go wrong.

iphone 8 plus have a faster software because of A 11 bionic chip while 7 plus have A 10 fusion chip thats a huge difference

At this point the best play is to wait. The new crop of iPhones will be coming out in about 2 months, if nothing the 8 Plus should be a lot cheaper.
If you need to buy the phone ASAP, go for the 256 GB variant. Over time photos and apps add up and 64 GB just won't cut it.

The 7 Plus is a great phone! People don't realize that iPhone's last much longer than other phones. Just for reference, the iPhone 5s is still on the latest version of iOS. So the 7 Plus maybe old, but it will not show its age. It all comes down to your budget, my recommendation is that if you plan to keep the phone for more than 1-2 years, the 8 Plus maybe a better choice. However, you can't go wrong with the 7 Plus either.
i have the 6s right now. i’m going to buy the 7 plus. As there’s not much of a difference between them and the 7 plus is much cheaper.
If you haven't bought the phone yet, I would recommend the 8 simply because it's got a better processor. It will age a lot better than the 7, so if you plan on keeping the phone for a while it'll be the right move.

They are both really good phones, and you couldn't go wrong with either.
However, in my opinion if you can afford it the iPhone 8 Plus is the best choice! It is a very good phone, and will serve you well!

Yes! I would absolutely recommend the 8 Plus! It's a great phone, however there isn't a big difference in looks/feel between the 6 Plus and 8 Plus, so set your expectations accordingly.

Yes, the Touch ID to Face ID transition is a bit jarring at first. However after a while of use, I've gotten very used to it and it's not too hard to live with. In a perfect world, I'd love if there was an option to have both Touch ID and Face ID.
I have a problem. I can't afford iphone 8 plus in my country, but can iphone 7 plus. Is battery really that bad on Iphone 7 plus? i just use social medias. Will i be able to use phone if i don't receive updates?
Don't worry at all. The 7 Plus will still run just fine for social media. The battery life is not drastically different, so it shouldn't be an issue. Software and app support for iPhones is very good, so even if Apple stops giving you updates, the apps will still work for at least 1-2 more years. I don't think there will be any issues if you want to use this phone until 2022.
