- What's up guys? On today's episode, our pursuit of pinks brought us out to the saltwater. This was my first time fishing for salmon in salt, fishing from a beach or using buzz bombs. What a fun day of fishing though and a great learning experience.
Special shout out to OMARBASSBROS. I saw him at Cabelas and he gave me the tip on this spot. I always appreciate it when other anglers are willing to share information, it's what makes this community amazing! Thanks again brother!
Take care guys! I'll catch you on the next one!

Good job man! Just walk back and drag the fish onto the beach next time! Netting on the beach will lose you some fish!
I am going to do exactly that. I went out again today and lost another two when I turned for my net. I'm just going book it out of the water and drag em up next time! Appreciate the tip Tri!
@@ReelFishingPNW No problem! Make sure to keep your rod up so there’s always some tension to keep the hook in!
@@MowyDaLawn Will do! 🎣 Tight lines brother!
@@ReelFishingPNW Make sure to only do this if you're sure you want to kill the fish
@@speedbird1598 good call! Once the coho are in I'm gonna bring my net in case I need to release them safely!
AWESOME..I live in Spokane and have NOT been fishin since I left FL
Did you do any fishing in FL? I'd love to fish in that state some day.
@@ReelFishingPNW OOO YES! I fished ALL THE TIME in FL. I actually have a cousin who owns a boat and takes folks out for deep sea fishing trips! FISHING is in my family's BLOOD...
Bush Point was hot this summer! I live just down the street and was out there a lot!
I love seeing people get so excited catching salmon out there with their families. Such a good time!
I lost a lot this year but I also caught a lot. Just how it goes even if you’re doing everything “right”.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching Tom! I lost a couple pinks on the beach too but still had a great time fishing the salt water. I will definitely be back next year! If you see me out there say what’s up 👊🏼
So cool to pass the knowledge down to your daughter!!
Just started saltwater this year as well. So much fun and a whole different ball game.
She'll be out fishing me soon! And salt has been a blast. Good people, easy access, awesome scenery and fish that bite! 😂 couldnt ask for more.
Glad to see you getting in on the pinks this year. They are fun and great smoked. Keep them videos coming. 👍🏼🤙🏼
Thanks George! Pink fishing definitely is living up to the hype for me. They put a great fight!
Good times brother. Priceless all the smiley faces 😊
Good times indeed! Thanks for watching and for the SUB! Appreciate that man 🙏
Fishing pinks even better from a boat. Viewing from southwest Vancouver Island.CHEERS
That's what I've heard too! Might have to bust out my heavy ass kayak lol
I’m hitting the hood canal in my kayak Saturday. I guess the pinks are in. Going to try, have not caught one yet
Good luck man! Hope you get your first 🤞🏻
Awesome man! Congrats on your first Pink. I caught mine last weekend!
Look at us... catching fish! 😂 hell yeah man congrats to you too! Here's to many more 🍻
Looks intimidating with all that water and no structure to fish, but you did it and landed one 💪🏽 what a great family trip, lots of memories!
I was thinking the same. Trips me out that they are just out there but I guess they behave like most fish. Feed in shallows during dusk and dawn and go deeper mid day? Maybe? haha thanks for watching bro 🤜🤛
Pink Salmon is really fun to catch! 😁
Yes they are! Hoping to get a few more this season 🙏🏻
Another great time fishing with daughter.nice one brother🤙
Yes sir! Thanks for watching bro🤜🤛
Nice fishng
Thank you 🙏
Some people snell 2 hooks onto their buzz bombs so that there's a chance the stinger hook will keep the fish on. Nice fish. Thanks for sharing!
I'll have to look that technique up. I lost two more on sunday! Thanks for watching 🤜🏼🤛🏻
@@ReelFishingPNW use an egg loop knot with a long enough tag end to snell a second hook on behind it or just tie a hook on with a egg loop knot then use that hook end as your tag end and tie another egg loop knotted hook on in front of it, egg loop knots are super strong, much stronger than a snell or other hook connecting knots, and once you get the hang of it you can tie them in the dark
And that double hook setup is perfectly legal and really does help keep fish on a lot of the time, and helps with hooking on those finicky pinks that just snap at the end of your buzz bomb, really helps the tap:hookup ratio
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS, IM IN TEXAS FOR MILITARY TECH, AND IM FROM WASHINGTON MISSING THIS
I'm sure the fishing in Texas is just as good, or better! Texas and Florida are some bucket list fishing destinations for me... plus Alaska!
Awesome video sir! Great to see kids getting up into the action. I've been YouTubing for a minute myself and soooo feel you pain about both accidentally turning your camera off and losing a fish messing with it!
The sacrifices we make for some content haha thanks for watching brother. Sub'd to your channel, looks like I could learn a thing or two from you! 🤜🏼🤛🏻
Appreciate it! I subbed to your's, but some time ago I think.
@@WAFishQuest appreciate that man 🙏🏻 here's to losing less fish 🍻😄

Limited out there the last 3 days in a row, super awesome fishery! Let me know if you want any help fishing the beaches
Sweet! Were you just using buzz bombs? I might have to head back some time soon. If you see me say what's up, I'm trying to limit every outing too! ✌
Is this near Seattle I’ve fished beaches done there but only caught coastal cutthroat
@@jacksonbuis6601 this was on Whidbey island
Awesome bro nice job🔥🔥
Thanks my guy 🤜🏼🤛🏻
Looks awesome! Kid will be ready with the net from now on 😂
Yes she will! Unlike her dad, she's a quick learner 😂
Nice fish!!
Thanks Michel! And thank you for the SUB!!! 🙌
woow, you guys had a great time. All I caught there was a small trout size salmon XD, you guys even managed to catch other species. Wish me luck tommorow.
Good luck man! Tight lines 🎣
Great video. I was out today and didn’t even get a bite. The pinks have soft mouths so don’t feel bad loosing some
Thanks man! I was out yesterday too and lost the two I hooked in to. With them having soft mouths, should I open the drag more? Horse them less?
@@ReelFishingPNW in the salt with pinched barbs if you give too much slack they will het off really easy.
Once they are in the river and you can use barbed hooks you can let them work more by loosening the drag
@@EvergreenOffroad ok cool thanks bro!
@@EvergreenOffroad Depends on the river, some require barbless
@@speedbird1598 I’m well aware, that’s why I said once they are in the river and you can use barbed hooks as in if your are fishing a river that’s legal to do so
Thanks to you me got my first king salmon but not on boat!
Awesome!! I'm hoping I get my first this year too 🤞🏻
Well I bet you will if you just believe
And next Monday there is the Snohomish river and there is going to be coho salmon and pink salmon but you can get four salmon for each person
@@Jaylah_9833 thank you 🙏🏻 and you're right it will happen this season! Cant wait!
Yup and good luck on getting coho salmon
where is location bro ?
Bush Point (Whidbey) brother. Good luck out there 👍
What lure were you using?
Pink buzz bombs 👍🏼
@@ReelFishingPNW what size?
What gear do I need to catch pinks
I was using my bass setups (7'2 MH with bait casters) but I think any medium or med heavy setup will work. Everyone else that I saw was using spinning reels. Pole sizes ranged from 6'6 to the 10'6 salmon rods, so I don't think you have to be too specific. Rig a 2.5" pink buzz bomb to it and you're all set. The line should probably be 10+ test or higher, but I don't even think the type of line matters. I had mono on one rod and braid to flouro on another and they both got bit.
More Bush point videos.
It's fun to go fishing... I'd like to do it sometimes..
Where is this particular area you went to? Doesn't look like the Pacific Ocean. 👍👍👍
We were fishing on Whidbey Island 👍🏼 thanks for watching!
@@ReelFishingPNW Ah, Whidbey.... I haven't been there, not to far from Seattle then. 👍🧡
Awesome day! Got my 1st Pink from the beach this year too! How do you go to BP and it be so empty though?
It was tons of fun! Congrats on your first as well 🤝🏻 and I probably just got lucky with the lack of crowd. Every other spot I tried for pinks was packed.
What beach was that?
Bush Point on Whidbey. I've read that Fort Kasey and the state park just north of here are decent spots as well. Fished deception pass a couple days ago too and saw a handful of pinks getting caught. The bite is on! Hopefully it lasts a couple more weeks.
Are you going to fish the Green River? :)
Definitely! Will probably start hitting the Green next month 👍
Lagoon point is a lot better.
No need for waders off the beach!!!
You're probably right I just like wearing em 😅
