After you been on the big bikes for some time R1, ZX10, Panigale they are so much on the edge riding a 400 is like a breath of fresh air. Plus the fact that racing a 400 is like 1/3 the cost of racing the bigger bikes. Namely tires. I can go though a a rear SC1 in a day. That same tire on a 400 will last for days!!!!

    I know you think you’re ‘racing’ him when you overtake him on the straights but I guarantee you are just pissing him off, there’s nothing more annoying than a rider on a more powerful bike going past you on the straights and then messing up your corner entry as they slam on the anchors at the next bend. Props to you for posting this though. Let’s be honest, most people wouldn’t put something up that shows them in a bad light.👍

      I used to Road races a lot it's very simple... If you take all the turns and straighten them out they're equal to two and a half times the length of the straightaways. S o if you're fast enough in the turns you can outrun everybody even if you're slow on the straights.

    I agree with Alex Hamilton, and all the comments after him. But one thing I can add Maxy is, grab the 400 rider and ask him to take you out on the track and follow him. Watch his braking points, follow his line and his body positioning. Obviously your motorcycle, (do to weight and your skill level) , won't be able to carry the same speeds throughout the corners as the guy on the 400. But if you turn down your aggressiveness just a tad, and use the opportunity to gain skill. You could potentially be embarrassing guy's at the track in the corners and not just on the straights. Great video thanks for sharing looks like you had fun day 👍

    There are two aspects that people seem to partially take into consideration:
    1. The 400 rider is obviously far more professional than Maxy, hence it was somewhat hard even for a H2 rider to keep up with him, cause speed doesn't play that much of a big role in these routes.
    2. Ninja 400 can hit a scale of 202-205 kmh top speed which equals 125-127 mph ! the 400 is an extreme bike for its category and it doesn't fall much behind the 07 in terms of torque and speed.

    Maxy, after watching your videos from the track one big thing I’ve noticed is your braking, you coast loads before you get on the brake.
    Try finding a brake marker, stay on the gas then close and hit the brake hard, get all your braking done before the turn.
    That way you’ll not loose so much time.
    I’ve seen you gas hard down the straight then close the throttle and then get back on it. That’s the classic problem when you don’t use braking markers.
    Give it a try next time, it can be anything from a kerb strip, crack or scrape in the road, a fencing post, anything to let you know when to get on the brake.
    But remember BRAKE REAL HARD IMMEDIATELY then taper the brake off as you begin to lean.
    Ohh
    One more thing, get the body into position before you start to brake, trust me it helps the arm pump massively.
    Great video though dude, have fun 😀👍

      I'm not commenting on your observation... but plenty of pro riders and GP racers brake INTO the turn, and dont necessarily finish before the turn begins.... So i'm not sure how good of advice this is... theres also plenty of GP riders also talking about using both front and rear brake all the time... Just some food for thought... ive never been ona track, but i'm pointing out that there are tons of pros that dont do what you're stating here, and I think it comes down to ones training, capability and riding style...

      I agree 100% Alex. Maxy also needs to practice trail braking. Ie on the front brake right through the corner till the apex then back on the gas as the brake comes off. None of this coasting into corners. That is why the guy on the 400 is smashing him.

    • @Yamaha.ha.ha.ha.
      @Yamaha.ha.ha.ha. Před 2 lety +3

      I like maxy but yeah no downshift and too much coasting. When you downshift before the corners your hear the engine raise revs as the bike leans onto the small radias of the tire hence the raise in revs when you get it right. Far too much coasting but he will improve when he knows the bike better but maxy you gotta push for them times. Brake as late as poss. A little to load and then hard then feather as doing round corners with no sudden quick changes. I use front to slow and rear to tuck and stabilise but everyone brakes diff so just do your thing and enjoy your rides.

    • @Loopyeck
      @Loopyeck Před 2 lety +2

      @@earthlyng_official4599 yea I agree but for someone that’s clearly struggling with corner entry I think maxy needs to mail the basics first, then once he has it down then he can start to Taylor his style to his way of riding.
      I’ve always been told to master the fundamentals then you can play with trail braking and sliding the rear with the back brake.
      It’s just all good fun, I hope whatever advice he chooses to listen to that he just enjoys himself and stays safe.

      Go for the Mt, the ninja does have better handling from the factory but it is nothing that you cannot improve by simply changing the springs and oil in the forks of the Mt, let alone that even the "worse" handling of the Mt will be more than enough till you climb your skill level for thousands of miles to come and you simply won't be able to push it to corners as hard to expose its lesser quality. Go for the Mt cause of the more useful powerband and don't think about the wind. Feel fee to aske more as I have ridden both for a while both in track and the street.

    I raced a bone stock '86 FZ600 that topped out at about 130-135 at Willow Springs. The CBR 600's of the day hit about 140. I learned from one of the club champs that you had to be able to go fast in the fast turns because everyone can go fast in the slow turns. The 1st time I hit turn 8 full throttle in 6th was definitely an eye opener but, I did a lot of passing on the outside of that turn as well as turn 2 which was the 2nd fastest one on the track. Ironically the only two times I ever went down on the track was in the two slowest turns(3 & 4) . Once getting a false neutral after braking from about 115 into turn 3 and trying to gas out. Thought I was between 2nd and 3rd so I downshifted but, I went into 1st and got a big time tank slapper and down went Frazier. Second time was after dicing back and forth with another FZ for about 4 laps I decided to try and outdrive him out of 4 and instead low sided and watched him almost run me over. When I saw him in the pits he said the last guy that did that he did run over and broke his collar bone. It was my lucky day.

    • @p3kab00icu
      @p3kab00icu Před 2 lety

      Everything else being equal, sometimes there are 3 different lines through a corner.
      1. Qualifying line (especially for more powerful bikes). The fastest line is often a bit of a wide entry, turn and burn approach. But it leaves the door open. So it's not the race line.
      2. Racing line (smooth flow, conserving all resources, allowing a relatively fast pace for the entire length of the race).
      3. Defensive line. Early entry, brake late, exit wide (which is also the passing line, which you are then blocking / closing the door).
      Whatever approach you are attempting, if you dont enter a turn properly, it's basically impossible to 'fix it', in the middle of the turn. So the exit is what it is, at that point.

    Me and some riding buddies used to do track days in the Poconos out in Pennsylvania back in the early 2000s. I had 2000 R1 that I used on the track but I found out that I had faster lap times when I got on my buddy's R6. I was more comfortable pushing the smaller bike near its limits.

    The H2 is a boat to ride. It has no place on the track if you want to be fast. Too heavy and too much power. They have good brakes that's about it for track use. Before you keyboard warriors come at me, I've owned one and many zx10s.

      True, a track ready 400 will smoke a mostly stock h2 everytime with riders of the same skill on the track. H2 just wasn't designed for heavy track use. Plenty of other liter bikes for that.

    Pov: you've done all side quests before the first boss. Plot twist, the game ramps the difficulty of the boss

    The 400 is usable power can have it twisted back most of the lap. Your on and off and all over the shop which is to be expected as that lad knows his way around that track for sure. Has all his points and has shit sussed. Making up on the straights tho because your bikes over 200bhp ain't really a comeback bro lol. 400 was passing ya like you was going backwards lol. Bit that thing is slow overall lol.

    Again, stop being so scared of the H2 and allow the bike to flow around the turns. Stop being a brakey boo.🙄

      Hes not scared of it hes scared of losing it and he 100% will if he pushes it. That little 400 is worthless it doesnt matter if it goes down and likely has before. You dont take an H2 to the track to push it and destroy it... unless your made of money or something
