here's a walmart pro tip for witch hazel: walmart carries witch hazel at two different price points. the higher priced is found in the beauty section, and the the cheaper priced is found in the first aid section. exactly the same witch hazel at two very different prices.

On the oatmeal lotion, Walmart does a knock-off that is pretty much identical to the Aveeno. I really recommend it.
Go Equate brand everything since Equate is a exact duplicate of whatever product they claim right on the product they are recreating
Viv maybe the moisture test shows you how much extra WATER they add to their product?? Maybe not a good thing to have more moisture on the paper test???
If I'm not mistaken the true original dry shampoo was "Psssssst" I know we had it in our house in the 70's.
pro tip: use dry shampoo on clean dry hair for texture and to prevent oils instead of trying to get rid of oils when they’re already there 💛

As someone with chronic dry skin, my dermatologist always recommended moisturizers that absorb quicker. The wipes made the dollar tree side rub off cause it had more moisture to begin with. I love when u do these videos, always helping us save some coins.

The smell of witch Hazel to me is nostalgic and I love it. My grandma used it for blemishes and sunburns on me….because back then we didn’t know better about being in the sun and how bad sun burns are for us

I had a coworker turn me on the the Dollar Tree Aveeno knock off. I had super dry, sore, chapped hands and it worked wonders. I liked that it absorbed in because it didn't leave my hands filmy/greasy.
Let me give you all a pro tip on the dry shampoo. Baby powder works better than any of those pricy dry shampoos and has a way better cost and brings a lot more product to the party lol
I like to use cornstarch in place of dry shampoo 😀
That’s fine if you have blonde hair - but baby powder turned my dark brunette hair grey 😂 I looked like my grandma 🙅🏻♀️
If you don’t mind a bit of mess add some cocoa powder to the corn starch if you have dark hair, it smells chocolates too.

I use the Aveeno and I want a moisture barrier. Keeps moisture in. I’m suuuuuper dry and sensitive. Fragrance is a no and absorption is a no for people with my skin issues. Thanks Vivian!!! ❤

I feel if a product is more watery then yes it will absorb better but also dry out by how much water content is in it, that means it will evaporate off the skin if it doesnt have oils or some type of exclusives to lock it in that’s why Aveeno is thicker and richer cuz it does what it needs to.
1:12 the oatmeal lotion (Kissable Oatmeal Soothing Hydration Body Lotion) at our local Dollar Tree and Dollarama claims to be Fragrance-Free and is! Maybe it depends where you shop? Mine are located in the GTA region of Ontario, Canada & it’s made here too

Regarding the Aveeno/DT comparison: the tubes are cream, the bottles are lotion, so of course, the water level will be different.

Just stumbled across your channel and wanted to comment on the carpet cleaning solution. Even though the name brand can is bigger you can still buy two of dollar tree products and come out cheaper with possibly more.
In my humble opinion, you need your own tv show!!
I do watch Dr. Dray, dermatologist on CZcams, and she frequently goes through Dollar Tree, looking at ingredients, etc. and making recommendations. There are really a lot of great products available there! I do look at the ingredients, and it's just up to me if I don't like a scent, or if I try it for $1.25 and don't like it enough to buy again.

My daughter suffered from horrible eczema - the allergist recommended that aveeno lotion. She hasn’t had a problem since, use it daily.

I'll stick with the Aveeno brand one 😆 I agree with Dollar Tree scents. They need some major help with it because a lot of their products are pretty decent.
I use that Lucky Witch Hazel from Dollar Tree everyday! Honestly, it's super gentle on my crazy sensitive face.
The difference in the first product is that you're comparing lotion to cream. They are different textures and weights, they absorb at different rates and treat different skin issues.
Viv love your videos!!! The Dollar Tree Oatmeal lotion is measuring a higher degree of moisture and soaking into the paper quicker because it has more water content. It’s the “water” that dries out our skin.

And just an FYI for any witch hazel users Walmart has a generic witch hazel brand like where the alcohol and peroxide is and it's only like a dollar or somewhere around there and it has exactly the same ingredients as the brand name kind. It has a faint set of witch hazel but not overpowering but the brand name one smells exactly the same anyway. Anyhows thanks again girl! Much love, G💜🤗😘
I use the oatmeal moisturizer and it works pretty well, especially if you're on a tight budget.

Honest question here, not being sassy at all... is the moisture reader telling you how much water is in the product? Wouldnt the higher moisture readings then be considered a negative? That's also why it "absorbed" into the paper better... because it's mostly water? I absolutely love you and your gid3os! Your personality has me laughing and smiling no matter how bad my day was prior to watching your videos. Your product comparisons are very thorough and I love how you show ys your entire testing process on video rather than how most youtubers just tell us which product they like better without actually showing us how they came to that conclusion. Hey Vivian, do some Amazon brands VS Walmart brands
for skin...use refind coconut oil found in the cooking section (at Aldi's $5) this is all natural and works for dry lips/skin.
also for dry skin it could be a iodine deficiency issue or vitamins & mineral deficiency issue. see Dr David brownstein iodine vids and for vitamin/mineral deficiency issues see Dr berg vids.
My fave dollar store items: contouring and highlight sticks from la colors, micellar water, EOS style shave lotion, Teeth whitening tray and gel, dry shampoo.
Viv, the dry shampoo needs to be held 6 inches from the head, I believe. That eliminates most of the powder.
I think the DT products scored higher on the moisture tests because they contain more water. But I think the water in the lotion is not necessarily a bad thing, the best time to put lotion on is when you are still wet from bathing. The witch hazel, no way I would buy unless it’s pure.
The dollar tree aveeno knockoff has more water than aveeno. That’s why it’s more transparent and would explain the higher moisture content. Aveeno has more oils resulting in a creamy texture

I buy those wipes for my man at DT. 😆 the way he uses them it's not worth buying them for 4-5$ a pack. I've also tried the dry shampoo. It's actually ok and the green one smells great. And from what stylist say you're supposed to spray the oily spots rub it in, then blow dry.

Naughty Viv! The aveeno comparison isn’t equal. Tube cream is not as loose a formula as lotion that has a pump application. Apples and oranges.

I think a barrier is what Aveeno is supposed to be. It’s a protectant.
I've never found a DT lotion that is good quality, although I will use them. I like the scents!!!

Possibly using a strong fragrance to mask other odors? It is possible that the $ Tree moisture content is higher because the product has more liquid & absorbs faster, ie, water or alcohol product. This is not necessarily a good thing. Love your videos, they make my day! Enjoying going back and watching all your videos from previous years 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
