The year he came back, he basically carried the team into the Playoffs, he won the NFL's MVP award (what was at the end of the video) and he less than 10 yards shy from setting the NFL record for most rushing yards in a season, not including the playoffs. When he started the year they didn't run him as much as they would've normally to give him more time to heal up or he would've probably would've set the record. That would've been an incredible, Hall of Fame, type year even if he hadn't had the serious knee injury. And it isn't just the speed that would be the most affected by that type of injury, it's also his ability to plant on the leg to make those elusive moves and cuts through the defense. That's the big thing.
People started calling him The Wolverine, like from X-Men, during and after that year, because no one should be able to heal from an injury like that, that quickly that's human.

For sure, Adrian is due a lot of props for the way he came back.. but the team behind his recovery also deserve a massive pat on the back. For him to blow an ACL and MCL and be back playing only 9 months later means he had excellent doctors and physio's behind him

Long time Minnesota Vikings fan, here. Adrian Peterson is my second favourite NFL player of all time after Randy Moss, another Vikings legend and a Hall of Famer.
Adrian Peterson is a first ballot Hall of
Famer. He's been in the league since 2007 and played 10 seasons with the Vikings, and he's also played for the New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Washington, and the Detroit Lions. Over the last three years, even though he isn't the force that he once was, he's still been very respectable in his performances and he still retains most of his great power and his speed and agility.
Adrian Peterson is thoroughly dedicated to preparing himself physically for football to be in excellent shape, during off seasons, pre seasons and in seasons as well...
The video that is featured is his 2012 season in which he rushed for 2096 yards, just 9 yards of the season rushing record held by Eric Dickerson. It was after he recovered from an ACL injury suffered in December 2011, during a game for the Vikings at Washington. In 2012, Peterson was voted MVP, and in addition to the rushing yards he had an average of 6.0 yards per carry, a total of 13 touchdowns, and rushed for over 200 yards twice that season and once for 199 yards. The last one was in the regular season finale against the Green Bay Packers in which Peterson's last run set up a field goal in the closing moments of the game for a 37-34 win and was key in getting the Vikings to the playoffs after a 10-6 regular season record.

AP is a lock for first ballot hall of fame. Definitely a top ten RB of all time, and there’s a good argument for top five. Which is saying a ton because the position group is overcrowded with all time greats, and the top three are virtually set in stone with Sanders, Payton, and Brown. And that’s not even including Smith, the all time leading rusher.

He might come back next year too. Also to your earlier comment running backs are generally really physical. Their shelf life is unbelievably short because of it usually. You’re thinking of wide receivers.

Running backs/ full backs = battering ram !
(Short distance sprinters that are up to speed quick at line of scrimmage with the ball) running over lineman that weigh 300+ lbs. each down the offence runs a play and so does the defense play. Each man has a specific job or block to make to free up a specific spot on the field. Fans know the basic plays and watch the whole field and most the positions. The play is made not just by the guy with the ball !!
Each players position has a specific size, weight, speed and strength and special skill set required to play that position.
The game originaly was based on military tactics. It's a game of inches

The Big difference between Adrian Peterson's 2012 campaign and Eric Dickerson's 1984 campaign, was that NFL coaching was much more able to adapt to offensive strategy, Dickerson faced mostly base defenses, and almost never faced Defenses selling out against the run, Defenses did that to Adrian Peterson by the end of his first season in 2007, in 2012, he manage 2098 yards against 8 and 9 men in the box defenses built to destroy Running Offenses. No, Adrian is still playing you have to be retired for five years first.

It's very hard to clearly state who is the best RB of all time, the game changes so much. The position takes so much violence and punishment that even the best players if each generation have a short window. There bodies break down and can hardly play past 30 typically.
I am from St. Louis Marshall Faulk is maybe my favorite player for us with all the things he could do, so gifted. Easy 1st ballot HOF!!!
With that said, I don't see how I could pick any runner over Peterson if I had to choose. He was something else. Absolute animal, you can't do anything but respect him. What is your size Kabir? Like how tall are you and how heavy are you, are you built like a track star, basketballer, footballer, or baseballer. I'm going to guess you are 5'10 (177.8cm) and 150 lbs (68kg). That if you don't mind sharing.
