    Thanks again for the content Ric.
    This one helped me to access the coolant hosed for the dreaded leak. I only had a small amount of coolant on the sump guard this morning after a 170 mile trip yesterday, 320 miles total on the clock.
    BTW I check tightened all the coolant hose clamps and most needed a slight nip, the water pump was the worst.
    I just loosened the lank and lifted enough to gain access (only had 50 miles fuel left in the tank).
    Thanks again for informative content.

Yes I was suprised too how much crap had to come off just to install the spot lights. Quite shocking really. No doubt its a labour costly job if done at a dealers. Keep safe bud, Thanks Ric

    Hi Ricardo, I removed my tank yesterday. Wanted to check all cooling hoses and connections. No leaks found. After that I opened the right radiator cap, filled it directly to the top and took of the bleeding screw off on the left radiator. Lot of air came out and I kept filling the right radiator until the left bleeding hole showed coolant. closed it all again. Now I need wait until salt is cleared from the roads to check if coolant level doesn't go up and down anymore to much. The air did not belong there anyway. Thanks for the video..... and eeh oh yeah, my tank was empty... piece of cake :-)

    • @RicardoYeep

      Hiya Albert! Apologies for the delay - Been busy away this weekend! Fantastic new to hear you found the vid helpful and did all that work on it. Definitely sounds like a lot of trapped air in there. You will soon find out if there is too much coolant. But to be honest it will just come out the overflow anyway and find its true maximum setting. The only problem is too little which by the sound of it you have nothing to worry about! HAHA good move on doing it with empty tank! :) I will also in future either drain the tank via the petcocks or just make sure I don't have much in!!!
      All the best

    Thanks for the video. I'm not looking forward to stripping my 23 SAR down for wiring lights and EzCan, but this should help. Curious what the purpose for the zip tie on the petcock though. Also, the 2 lines at the front top... are they vacuum lines? Was considering doing an auxiliary fuel tank vacuum feed like Camel did with previous generation 1290, but have been told the vacuum lines on the 21+ don't allow it.

    Great video Ricardo. I notice that you have your radiator water on the max level. Mine come from factory between min and max. Did you haver had any consumption of you radiator water? Mine have been dropping a litle bit. Do you think that is normal? Many thanks for your videos.

      Hello Pedro! Thanks for the feedback and watching! Yes my radiator level is on the MAX. And in 5,000 miles so far it has not moved at all. LIKE NO MOVEMENT.. Do you have a small leak? can you see any water anywhere after a good ride out? I know some bikes have experienced issues with coolant leak. How much has yours been dropping? How many miles on the bike? Definitely I would keep an eye on it and see your dealer if you keep having to add more coolant!!!

      @@RicardoYeep thank you for your feedback. My bike has 5000 kms. It never consumed any water until last last weekend where i drove 700kms in one day. When i came home, i notice that the water level was on the min. My recall part was partialy melted. Now the dealer installed a new metal part insted the plastic that come with the bike. I don't see any leak. I went to the dealer and he didn't spot anything. I already drove about 100 kms and the level of water still where the dealer puts it. Do you think that could be of the plastic part ( part of the recal) that was melted? Did you fill yours to the max. Mine come from factory with a lower level. Many thanks for your help Ricardo.

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi. It does sound like your leak was now fixed I agree. Must be after the recall part. If your water lever had not changed then it seems ok. My water level came from the dealer on the Max and that is where it has stayed from day one! I also now have the new metal recall part installed by dealer too.

      Hello Donato! Thank you my friend for the feedback, Cheers, To answer your question I forgot to press record on the gopro! But no I did not have any issue at all removing the tank once all the connections were disconnected. All that required was a little wiggle and pull towards the rear direction and up. It then just comes off the mounts easily.
      The Tank comes off as easy as it went back on. As you can see I recorded the tank going back. Its straight forward process.

    Hi Ric, Had my 1290 SAS for a couple of weeks now and I have a leak. Not oil or coolant but KTM suggests it might be from the charcoal container. (It is a clear liquid with a syrup texture and only leaks when the engine is cold overnight). It is booked in for repair and first service on Friday. They say they need to remove the tank to get to the problem. Having followed your Zumo SatNav wiring video and installed to the ACC2 connection, Did you have to remove your wiring during your tank removal or did they stay in situ. Your vid doesn't show this.

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello mate! Sorry to hear about your issue but seems KTM are sorting it pretty quick. It does sound a familiar issue to be fair and nothing serious. Anyway about the wiring... No you do not have to remove all the wiring to remove the tank. Same as installation.. No need to remove the tank to install it. Hope that helps you ? :)
