My trusty and crusty old Fazer 1000 has come to the end of its life, so I thought I'd make a walk around video of it! It has also been replaced with a newer bike (same model)
The coolant mixing is likely just the water pump bearing seal. Its super cheap and probably just takes less than an hour to change out. I picked up a first gen fz1 with this issue for $500, changed out the seal for $30, and it ran like a champ after. This is a common issue for these bikes higher up on the mileage, easy fix.
I bought my FZS1000 in Nov '06 with 7.3k miles on the clock. It's an '04 model first registered in '05 and it turned 100k miles on Sunday last (5th Feb) on a run back from the seaside. Still runs like a watch and doesn't used a drop of oil, which gets changed every 4-5k miles.
Mine an 03 and has 48,000 and running strong
What other bike can you get for 2 to 2500 to top the fazer, you can't there isn't one.
The tank badge is correct. The later models moved away from the ‘Yamaha’ to the badge. Same as other Yamahas around the time.
I have a 03 fz1 with over 60k runs like a beaut. Idk for how much longer but I love my bike.

Bought a brand new FZS1000 for the new style registration on 1st September 2001 (51 Plate). Great bike, sold it before I killed myself.
Get a bandit
buy an engine on ebay and swap it.
Mine is a grey import bike, the imports had the Yamaha tuning fork logo on the tank rather than Fazer or Yamaha

Yes it's a proper shitter ... used & abused .... guy who owns it doesn't deserve to be the custodian of the mighty 1000.
Ez a motor nincs szép állapotban. Rossz gazdája van. A motor ütött kopott.
