I acquired mine in a more somber way. My son died in a hit and run on his 2007 FZ1 in September of last year. It has sat at the tow yard since, till this weekend. I am finding a calling to my healing process with him (his spirit), and finally brought the bike home this weekend. Looking to rebuild it. This was his most prized possession, and the last thing he was sitting on before leaving this earth. There is no way I am letting this thing go. It will be with me for the rest of mine, so when MY time comes, and I meet him up there, we can share stories of rides on the same bike. Miss you, son!

The FZ begain with a steel wobbly frame then finally was updated to aluminum R1 type frame and has been the basis for significantly changed generations after the FZ1....FZ10 , MT10 latest MT-10....all kinda similar though I wish the MT10 had a fairing like the FZ1 did @@tharalalnun4364

Totally agree, mind blowing value!! I bought a brand new 2014 leftover, delivered to me in Florida for $7k!! I was an R1 guy, couldn't take the riding position any more unless your on a track.. Fz1 very comfortable for 200+ miles, great power, bullet proof, crazy easy to change oil and work on, cheap to run. Bang for the buck very hard to beat. Yes, the mirrors need to be bent out level with road, mirrors are good and i like them on the fairing, not on the bars. I throw some light stiff luggage bags on and you have an instant tour bike. I did the tail kit with the led strobe brake light. Love the bike, owes me nothing.

I have the 2007 Yamaha FZ1, and it’s very comfortable for everything: commuting, group spirited riding, and comfort. I’ve owned 2005 Yamaha R6, and rode it to Illinois for a huge group ride. After two days, my lower back was killing me. I sold that, picked up this bike, and to ride to Minnesota and back to Wisconsin in one day. It was a 500 mile-one day trip. I would recommend this bike for others.
