  • Yes that's right, this is the new beast for the channel, the Yamaha FZ1. Completely stock at the moment, but don't worry that's all about to change soon ;p
    Never owned a 1000cc bike before so should be interesting getting used to the power, if there's anything specific you want me to try and cover on this bike just let me know. Stay tuned for the next few videos as we get the mods on.
    Also a few people have messaged saying they aren't notified when I put videos out, so feel free to tap the bell icon so you get a notification whenever I publish.
    If you like the video, a thumbs up always helps me out and as always, thanks for watching, peace!

    Glad to see you back on a bike Dan, think it's the perfect choice, more than enough power with comfort and good looks, will be a little project as well getting bits sorted and mods on it, seems to be warped discs or try cleaning your disc bobbins if they are floating as they can become siezed and jam the disc in one place and not float how they should. Can't wait to see more videos on it take care and ride safe 🙌

    Nice bike mate, congrats! 👍 A couple of things you can try for that brake judder before spending any money, are first off clean the discs each side of each, with brake cleaner and a scotch brite pad (on the back of washing up sponges if you don't have any). Brake dust builds up on the discs over time so does need doing occasionally. The other thing that can cause brake judder is if the forks were not aligned, or done properly the last time the wheel was taken off, might be worth doing them both anyway so you know they are good. Dave Moss has good videos worth a look.

    pulsing could be contamination on the discs. It can also cause the headstock to loosen and adversely affect your steering. Happened to me and caused me to low-side. My discs were warped though.

    people say 1000cc is too much for 1st bike but I think it's perfect the bike is only as fast as you ride it well technically its my 2nd bike as I have a zrx 1100 zzr11 hybrid but I only rode it for a few weekend rides shes tucked away now for a winter project

      I did the same thing! I had a few accidents while learning. The first was a major one and I wasn't at fault. I was totaled after only about 6 months of ownership, but I loved it so much I bought it back from insurance and rebuilt it back to life by myself. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it, only get it a partner bike. Thinking ZX-6R or 10R would complement it nicely

    That brake pulsing you mentioned near the end of video
    Try getting some new break pads as they it could be near their end life cycle.
    Also there may be some water dried up in the brake caliper so if new pads don't fix the pulsing the caliper needs a nice refresh.
    Had that pulsing on my Gsx-S750 and I ignored it then was welcomed by a seized caliper to the disk xD

    • @DanTheTwoWheeler
      @DanTheTwoWheeler  Před 3 lety +1

      I think it could be the pads, they've still got a bit of life left in them, but might get them changed soon to stop this issue.

    • @billsussman1073
      @billsussman1073 Před 3 lety

      The pulsing comes from our floating rotors. Those round button looking components near the center of the rotors should spin relatively freely when you try to move them with your fingers. They can be freed up with a little weasel piss and working them back and forth. Let me know if it solves your issue. Enjoy the Fazer man. Congrats

    currently have the duke 390 on a2 licence. Do you prefer 4cyl engines over 2 cyls like mt 07 and sv650? considering a mt 07 or fz6 but cant make up my mind. what do you think?

    • @Hotrob_J
      @Hotrob_J Před rokem

      For long rides, I'd say fz6. Engine is smoother, and when you're up to speed it's got a lot of punch. For in town rides, go for the twins - they've got more low down punch and are narrower and a bit more agile, and the vibrations are less of an issue on rides under 1-2 hours.

    Hiya- I’m looking at an FZ1 this week, I was planning on test riding an MT-07 & 09 but found an FZ1 that I can buy cheap, how would you compare the 3? Thoughts? I see you have an mt07 on your channel so I figured I’d ask.👍😎

    • @DanTheTwoWheeler
      @DanTheTwoWheeler  Před 2 lety +1

      I absolutely loved the FZ1. Its a crazy amount of power but super smooth. The MT09 and 07 are really popular bikes as well so I wanted something a little different. Out of those two though, the 07 has the low end grunt of a twin, but if you want the kind of power that scares you, the 09 will be more for you 😅

    • @bigjimknickers
      @bigjimknickers Před 2 lety

      @@DanTheTwoWheeler I test rode the 09 & 07 back to back on Monday, both very nice but the 09 was far superior imo, really enjoyed the 09. Now I’m waiting delivery of my 2006 FZ1N after buying it on Tuesday!

    Hey I have the same bike! Anyways you might want to try replacing the rotor on these things as if the magnets break it can cause you some weird issues and might leave you stranded.
