4:03 Start Of Solve - Let's Get Cracking! - Zábava
Three years really have flown by. I spent hours with these videos when covid forced me home from work all those years ago. Now I so the same and am less productive than I should be, but fun habits are hard to break.
Such a wholesome community! If it’s any consolation, this is probably one of the better fun habits to be stuck doing. 😆
Same!
47:01 for me. I think this is the first puzzle of Mr. van de Wetering that I solved on my own without watching the video. Great puzzle and congrats on the milestone!
Likewise. Feels great!
There is a subtle uniqueness point of some interest - if 8 is nowhere on the lines, 8 and 9 are not distinguished by clues.
Shoutout to Sven and the team for putting the original, 3-year-old puzzle into the new software. And congrats on the 9M!
It's really hard to imagine what it's like having made a sudoku puzzle that was so popular that a video of solving it has been viewed 9 million times. That's really an incredible number if you stop and try to process it.
This was a really unique rule. I probably didn't grasp all of its consequences fully. I went through the entire puzzle with a gut feeling that I was definitely making mistakes even though all the deductions seemed fully sound. There was a lot of "I'm going to trust I was right when I wrote this pencil mark" going on. That said, it all did work out in 38:27, which for me on a variant sudoku is a pretty speedy time lol.
I remember that puzzle, it came on shortly after i started following this channel, and it was a real struggle for me. I just solved it again, and thanks to Mark and Simon it has become a very easy puzzle. I also had a good laugh about how primitive the solving tool was back then. It is wild how much this channel has grown since then.
CTC has 10 videos with 1 million or more views. This one by far has many more than the next most viewed video in their collection.
I remember seeing that other video. I believe it might be even my first video that I watched. I was quite surprised that for some reason CZcams recommended that video to me because I don’t think I watch similar things. But I did stick around and I’ve bingewatched many video’s after that since then. That’s how CZcams works, it picks just one video and recommends the heck out of it to other people and that’s why it went viral. It doesn’t mean that the other video’s are less worth it to watch, it just means that that one video got lucky. Every other video of this channel should go viral. Have a nice day, greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
9:37 for me. Great puzzle!!
Merry Twixtmas , apparently the three working days between Christmas and New Year are also called Chrimbo Limbo
I think a bunch of people, me included, came from the yogscast. Lewis once mentioned CtC solving blank sodukus which had me intrigued and have been a avid viewer ever since!
Beautiful! Thanks Mark and Simon, great ode from Aad, and me being able to solve this one in 11:25 really shows the beauty of this channel. Wouldn’t be able tot finish it before the 9M video, and now……. felt like “Hooray, GAS is back” 😊
Aard being brilliant and you being pencilmark giving us that quadruple in column 5 :P
perfect, i think i will try this one whenever i get a chance from my headaches. looks more doable then when i glanced over it earlier.
Congratulations on making 9m views!!! love how big the channel is becoming.
Mark, in the last couple puzzles, I noticed a subtle but annoying background hum. I think it started when you added the new light. The ballast in the new light or it's power cord, may be too close to the mic cord, or service loops in either or both may be near each other.
(I didn't notice it. I use bluetooth in my ear so I hear directly into my ear. I don't need the volume very loud this way. But, when I turned up the volume, I did hear it.)
24:14, nice ruleset, thank you!
1:30 Congratulations on the nine million views. A bit of trivia: "Baby Shark" has over thirteen *billion* views. Now off to attempt the puzzle. Later, finished. Now back to the video.
18:37! Not bad. I quite liked the logic of this and wouldn't mind trying some more like it!
The Luxemburg jury line made my day... very nice Dutch puzzle.
Hmm - I wrestled this into submission and solved it in 54 mins, without ever really grasping how the line functions. Now to watch Mark's solve and see if I can gain some conceptual insight!
Aboslutely loved solving this puzzle! (20:07)
My mind reels a bit at a sudoku video getting nine million views; congratulations to CtC for this! This puzzle took me a bit to get my head wrapped around, but was able to finish it in 15:22, many thanks to Aad van de Wetering for a really fun puzzle!
Fantastic puzzle. Very much an exercise in pencil marking without a lot of deeper intuition for me, but still a joy to solve. Timer didn't run unfortunately, but felt pretty quick.
Congrats on 9M!
This ode was fun and approachable (18:40 for me).
Not very difficult, but nice and fun to follow the logic eating up the digits. A bit reminiscent of German whispers, guess that's how he started out at the very beginning.
This was a really fun puzzle. I looked at the wrong spot initially, so I stumbled a little to start. But I enjoyed the flow of the deductions once I'd settled in on the right spot.
Happy to join Aad, Mark and Simon in celebrating a phenomenal 9 million views! I cut my teeth on that puzzle and have been addicted to variants and to CTC ever since. Congratulations and Happy New Year!
32:29 for me. Had a little bit of trouble breaking in, but once I wrapped my head around the unique rule set, it became pretty easy!
Congrats on the views well deserved.
Your channel deserve even more and more
10:40 super puzzle 😊
24:13 for me. A brilliant new ruleset
11:50 for me. Nice little puzzle!
I remember that was one of the first puzzles I saw that got me into watching cracking the cryptic. Such a cool way to celebrate!
Merry twixmas! Congratulations on all of your views and subscribers! Congrats to Aad!! Thank you for years of reliable entertainment every day!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a interesting puzzle made for Aad van de Wetering!!! Amazing one!
More amazing is this beautiful channel! Congratulations for 9M views and thank you for doing 2 puzzles a day for so many time and not giving up!!! I love your channel!! ❤
Finished in 13:19. Fun puzzle!
An hour for me. It was not that simple! Great solve Mark!!
That video was the one that introduced me to the channel! Still one of my alltime favorite puzzles
This was my very first video I watched on the channel!! I watched the solve of the magic square and began solving it myself after that. I believe it took me about 3 hours of stumbling through it, but I’ve gotten a lot better since then.
You can always rely on Aad. Proves that a puzzle with a completely new ruleset need not be difficult. 21 minutes for me.
So much fun, Mark, and Aad. I solved this on my own (I did make some mistakes, but they were pencil-marking mistakes, not logical errors). When I look back at when I first started watching CtC, there would have been no way at all that I could have solved this puzzle. Thanks for all you've taught me! Beautiful puzzle and concept, fun solve, fun video - parsimonious is a great word!
Yeah, I had to list on paper which #s could be next to which others. (I can't do these things quickly in my head.) That was so much easier for me so that I could focus better on the puzzle without worrying about the math.
19:31 for me. Enjoyed it
What a fun puzzle and a great solve to watch!
Superb new rule set. Elegantly simple yet powerful, not brain melting but with lots of non-obvious implications. Well done Aad and Mark.
That's a very fun new line type. The puzzle is quite easy once you get used to the new line type.
Thanks for posting the 9m view puzzle. I went back and solved it again and I found it very approachable. I don’t think I remember it being so easy three years ago.
As in the video the 2/4 at the bottom took a while for me to spot, realising it can't be a 4 is huge. 38:05 for me, not too tricky, but put up a bit of resistance and was fun!
Finished in 16:22. A fun one, not too complicated.
56:14 for me on my second attempt. First one failed at ~45' quite likely due to misplacing the 5 in row 9. I did see how 9 and 8 were restricted but otherwise, my solve was more brute pencil marking than elegant logic. I'll watch the video now for my lesson on the latter!
21:12 "Aader and Aader", surely?
16:17 for me. Congrats on 9M views!
As Aad ones go, that was a gas... completed in 10m22s.
14:35 finish. Had a bit of a false start, putting a triplet of 2-3 pairs in a row, but realized my mistake after a few minutes. This was a bit tricky, for the simple math. Very fun!
Fantastic puzzle.
Mark Goodliffe has become a lot more cheerful and liberal with his use of superlatives, now that there are enough artwork quality puzzles for him to solve on the channel...! He's no Simon Anthony, but he's the next best thing...! When Mark is at his top form, I'd even say he's more "jolly" than Simon. It's hard for a human stick-figure to be "jolly".
18:24, lots of pencil marking, but got there in the end. Thanks to a previous puzzle, I remembered to look backwards as I typed in what the "next" number on the line could be to see if it still worked with the previous digits.
33:19 for me. Very enjoyable.
Of course an excellent puzzle from the great man, tbh I made heavy weather of it but finished it eventually !!
9 million views, wow !!!
Nice! 29:51 for me!
34:30 for me. Took me a while to grasp the rules properly. Haha.
Such good puzzles
31:00 for me
nice puzzle
Clever puzzle, a fun new rule that's not too complicated! My time was 12:36, and I was solver number 23.
Enjoyed
Very enjoyable..
Took me 37:43, not bad for being sick!
23:13 for me. It could have been less if I hadn't missed the constraint when trying to do sudoku. Still, it was the first Aad Van de Wetering puzzle I solved on my own without any help from the video
31:22, plus an unknown number of extra minutes due to forgetting to un-pause, probably less than ten. At first I thought it might be too tedious to bother with (lots of figuring of sums), but once I got the first few candidates in, it became easier, and ended up being a fun little challenge. Solve #4469.
00:34:32
Nize puzzle. 18:27 for me
Mark’s full pencil marking of row 6 enabled him to see the break in immediately. Pencil marking on the left leads to too many options and I got bogged down soon after.
56:11
Nappa, what's this sudoku's power-level? M in Roman Numerals is 1,000.
One thousand and six.
@@nestoreleuteriopaivabendo5415 Aw, I was setting up that the sudoku was over 9 thousand.
@@RoderickEtheria
Oh, my bad! I was reading the scouter upside down!
11:34 it cat be a 4, coz it will take 3 out on both sides, and 4+2 is to little
The link is not working on the app
36:23 for me :)
10:03 for me.
My mind kept thinking a 6 total was an option.
22:24 for me
this is a GAS puzzle
No it isn't - or I'm having a particularly bad day.
18:28 for me
27:35 for me and solver #1755.
It's crazy to think how far we've come with this channel. 10:40 for me an I know I was taking my time, means I can see that I've improved a lot!
10:56 for me. quite slow solve.
13 minutes
11 minutes for me. Simple and cute.
9:23 for me
12:22 for me, wow, It felt like I spent at least half an hour on this, not 12 minutes.
