- Officers in Mauston, Wisconsin are dispatched to a hotel for an unwanted guest. Upon arrival they find the man is being elusive about his identity, and learn he has several warrants. The man flees in his car, leading Police on a high-speed chase, crashing into several State Troopers and T-boning an innocent motorist before being taken into custody. #highspeedchases #police

They could have pinned him so easily that first time, but it's like they'd rather put the public at risk rather than dent their cars. They need to go to Arkansas and take lessons from the state police.
The first Trooper certainly didn't take control of the situation and should have never allowed back inside the car.
Ditto. It was obvious that thug was going to run
Yes...and when the second one got there he should have parked his patrol car directly in front of the dudes car to keep him from taking off. You could see it coming
the first guy, I dont think he was a trooper, but not sure,. I agree with you/ Easily could have ended much differently.
The idiot that showed up to assist damn sure didn't help matters by not parking in front of him to block him in
bingo
at least he has a place to stay tonight
This was in December.
For quite a few nights.
I have seen officers take the keys and put them on the roof of the car before. That seems like a smart move.
And stop sticks in front of tires.
Taking the keys is a good idea, they really should make that standard just to be safe.
One that pulled me over thought I was tryna run at first and he tucked my keys into his belt. Then forgot he had them and when he let me go I had to remind him to give my keys back.
@2:14 Being kicked out on Christmas Day, after “losing his wallet” and obviously living out of his car, should have been a big tip off to the police.
He wasn't living out of his car, he was moving back to Chicago. People should really open up their ears and listen before making accusations
He Clearly Said It Too That He Was Coming Back Home To CHICAGO.
@lildanny1664 this is my brother. Do I condone in his behavior, absolutely not. People just blurt opinions out with zero regards to family members. They live for the drama and entertainment. He is a real human being with REAL life trauma and struggles. Not one single person commenting knows anything about him or his life. Watching this video had so many emotions running through me! My brothers mental state, his safety as well as the safety of innocent people. The remorse I have for the man who has to deal with the loss of the van and possibly any injuries he may have received. Thanking God he walked out alive. My brother struggles with alcoholism due to the trauma we endured in our childhood. I luckily was the only one out of 4 that took a different path but I'm here to tell u it is a daily struggle and has not been easy to be on the right path. It has taken many many years of therapy to keep on the right path and be an "acceptable citizen" in this world. Unfortunately just like my brother, MANY people think they can fight it on their own.
Anyone who has bail jumping on their record should never be allowed to be bailed again 😡
Aint that the truth
Yeah, my ex daughter in law had 6 felony bail jumping in open cases, running the streets she's bat sh*t crazy, she went on to murder all with 6 FELONY BAIL JUMPING, make it make sense, maybe the man might be alive today had they incarcerated her with all her charges, laws need to change, because at this point we're empowering criminals.
Yeah, my ex daughter in law had 6 open cases ALL with felony bail jumping, she was running the streets free as a crazy bat, she went on to murder, maybe had she been incarcerated he'd be alive, 6 FELONY BAIL JUMPING CHARGES, laws need to change, because at this point we're empowering criminals.
They had a great chance to end the pursuit and prevent civilian harm at 5:42. But alas, way too slow.
They should get PIT training in Arkansas.
All he had to do was pull up and block him in smdh
Absolutely!! The officer in the black and white SUV seemed more concerned about not causing any damage to his vehicle. He also had the opportunity to block the guy while still in the hotel parking lot when he first pulled up.
They should’ve never let him get in the car without asking for his license. They had the perfect opportunity to avoid all of this nonsense in the very beginning of this video. You can see by the way he was acting that he wasn’t legal. Now it’s the taxpayers paying for all of this damage. The first cop blew it!!!
Maybe those cops just like catching them and letting them go so they can chase them some more.
This guy was a loser long before he checked in the hotel.
Yup! Super Loser with a Capital L!
U seem to really know it all huh
@HoboEAT And What Are You? 😭 A NOBODY therefore worry about yourself and carry on.
@@angelastanisz5667 And your IQ must be at least double digit.
@@lildanny1664 You keep working on that double digit IQ and you will finally succeed.
Free housing is just around the corner, complete with state benefits.
And companionship
3 hots and a cot too lol 😂😮😅😊
Is he an illegal immigrant? 😂
Free housing for him, but the tab is paid by us taxpayers.
don't drop the soap however.
That shit should have been stopped at hotel parking lot.
Am I the only one that felt like the 3 law enforcement vehicles had the perfect set up to stop him at the 5:40 mark ?? That was a missed opportunity in my opinion.
Yep had the perfect chance to pin him in place yet missed that one & even at the hotel the officer could have parked in front of him. And could have had those hand held stop sticks and put them under the tires since there was so much garbage in that car I doubt he would have seen the officer.
No,I agree also.....actually there never even should've been a chase they could have ended this at the hotel🤷♀️
I never understand why the police never try to block the car in the beginning or at least put stop sticks down. Police chases endanger the public and can be prevented.
They are kicking him out. Not apprehending him at first.
How? By not chasing a murderer? Or the murderer deciding not to run? No matter what the charge, idiots will run. You want the cops to just let them go?
@crisespinoza1979 they could of parked in front of him and boxed him in 🙄
Yes, I always roll my eyes when they call for backup, "We need 400 more units here and l, uh, make sure you all get behind him, otherwise, no fun for us."
I was going to say the same thing. The second officer could have just parked in front of the guys "in case" he wants to run.
I guess the DA forgot the three felonious assaults he committed...oh well. 😏
So why didn't the cop park in front of the car so he couldn't drive off? He new he was going to.
All that unnecessary damage and inconvenience because he didn't block the car at the motel.
That would have been a good idea. I guess next time.
So you are presuming the vagrant is going to run? That they all are going to run? News flash! Most people would leave peacefully.
He probably doesn't want to buy the car now from his friend.
This. 👆
He never intended to buy the car. That line about it’s a friend’s girlfriend’s car sounded like a lie. After that BS answer, I would have placed him in cuffs. Especially since he ignored the cop and walked around.
@CPDheadstomp agreed...that was some made up crap because he knew he was dirty to Try and throw the cop off.....everything he said was a lie in my opinion 😂
@@civlyzedtroll.. u should just write a book of all these "facts u know"
He said he borrowed it? Can we get a video of that friends face when this car gets returned? 😅
That would be priceless.
His friend is the mechanic from Los Santos Customs
I think it’s his Dad’s car. Whatever, he’s totaled the car.
Everyone making speculations.. it was HIS car.. clearly he lied because he didn't wanna get caught 🙄
Legend has it the dude in the rolled over van is still waiting to be rescued.
Guess you didn't watch to the end to see him climb out while the cop was bitching the door was heavy and to "hurry up"
Problem is the fcking court system that let this criminals.out the next days. 🤬
Exactly 💯
Time and time again. Leniency in the courts is a crime in itself.
"Democrat" judge you mean.
Wisconsin is insanely liberal. They love their criminals.
Very poor typing.
Some keystone police officers here. Could have ended this chase after the Tahoe police vehicle rammed the red car from the back; the dash camera officer could have gone nose in and boxed the red car between two SUV’s.
White van had a good civil case
Never should have been a chase
Should’ve been put in handcuffs immediately at the hotel
Why? He didn't do anything wrong. He was going to get a trespassing order
Stop sticks placed under the wheels immediately would protect the public.
Because he kept avoiding answering the Officer’s questions. Plus, Police are allowed to cuff and detain a subject. Especially since they were there for an actual crime.
Or pulled up and parked in front of them
Update: Richard was also charged with wearing gaudy purple Puma underwear.
👏😂
In USA ?
😂😂😂
That was navy blue, my unfashionable friend.
This literally puts the old saying of running with everything you got to a whole new perspective.
Received 1 year 6 months in prison plus two years of probation. And like 24k in court costs.
Thanks for the info. I couldn't find his sentencing information.
I think the $24K had restitution costs in there. Doesn't matter, he won't be able to pay. Even if he got a $40K/year job, it would take him close to a decade of wage garnishment to pay it off.
@@Cyberdactyl Yeah he didn't have money to pay for hotel. He broke as mf.
@@LesCunliffe for the* hotel.
He's* broke as a* mf.
I don't know why they give them fines. They let them out on parole and there's no enforcement to track them down and make them pay.
Boy if I ever decided to become a criminal I’m heading for Wisconsin. Most lenient courts north of the Rio Grande. He should have got 10 years in prison, minimum.
Might be better off heading to Mpls, Mn
@@iffykidmn8170 Yes, you could burn down some of the city and get away with it.
Gratitude to all LEOs for doing a tough job and taking risks to keep us safe.
That’s why we detain people instead of allowing them to walk around.
Wow! Most of the drivers moved over on both sides of the road 👍🏼👍🏼
It's Wisconsin, not Florida...
Amazing how much someone who needs a place to stay avoids free room and board.
The first chasing Officer was an idiot who could have ended that chase much sooner. When the second trooper rammed the suspect the firet wouldn't risk his 'dead object patrolcar" so instead of boxing him in, he moved his vehicle out of harm's way making a highway for the suspect to drive away again the rest is history..... The first officer is to blame for every injury happening beyond that point. Stupid officer. And before you judge me, just watch the video again and watch how he avoids any risk of denting his patrolcar. Chicken officer, To serve and Protect - My Patrolcar......
Good luck with the inventory search.
Wear gloves
Get a tetanus shot...
Wow yall need to get a life.
Put it in a prison for 70 years
Second cop should’ve pulled up in front of him to block him
Exactly, but then no fun chase at everyone else's expense.
My thoughts exactly. But they want a reckless chase that puts lives at risk it seems.
@@bumpkinrocks The police get s*** no matter what they do. Look at Georgia State Patrol or Arkansas State Police. Both agencies have PIT policies that allow for the quick end to a pursuit through preventing the endangerment of as many lives as possible and yet people complain about that. And now departments where officers are not even allowed to get within 100 feet of the suspect vehicle are in the wrong for letting the pursuit happen in the first place? Even if they blocked the car, that could be a constitutional violation if he had given his correct name and did not have warrants. I'm also pretty sure that the two officers were not from the same department meaning that there was no way for the second officer to know that the suspect gave a false name and should have been boxed in.
That's a smart idea. Run from the cops in a bright red car.👌🏼
The guys statement of I thought you guys were supposed to terminate persuits is exactly why pursuits should virtually never be terminated. The scumbags think they are good to get away the more crazy and wreckless they drive.
He thought he was in Madison🤣
He definitely has never been to Arkansas.
usual suspects 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂
ya who cares when innocent people get hurt in chases. They were chasing someone over not giving their id over a trespass. what exact public safety was in danger waiting to get this guy another day? Just curious would you be willing to give up one of your family member to be injured in a pursuit over something so trivial?
@@eRyanator It wasn't about the ID not being given, if you paid super close attention to the beginning, he was also wanted and had charges of bail jumping.
Nothing added up about this guy from the very beginning. He committed theft by not paying, then the first cop just lets him load up his car, get in, close the door, start the car, and drive away?
Agreed... The officers ALLOWED this situation to become a disaster-- from the very beginning. They f*cked up big time. Keystone cops.
2:42 - Now why wouldn't the 2nd cop park in front of the guy so he doesn't pull away? Setting him up for further charges?
Its sort of funny that if he left originally when the hotel people asked him to this wouldnt have happened
Yeah, at first I was thinking why is the LEO asking for ID if he is leaving. Then the whole story was revealed.
The first cop watched him load his car, get in, and start it up. He did everything except tell him he has a 5 Mississippi head start. The guy was outside of his car loading it. Then would have been a good time to deny him entrance to the car and put cuffs on him, at least for theft of services due to fraudulent payment. Then walk his butt up to the front desk, trespass him, and tell him to be on his way.
If anyone was hurt during this chase, the officers and the state should have to pay. They stood there having a conversation while he did as he pleased and left.
Then the truck with the cam on it had the ability to end the chase when he backed into the other SUV, but he sat there. He could have pulled forward into his bumper, and it would be all over. Not only did he fail to act, he actually steered away from him to get away from a possible crash when the red car drove away.
And to think if he had either just left yesterday, or paid for an extra day.....
He would still be out of Jail and not awaiting trial!
Instead of blocking the car in the parking lot, all of this folded,
USELESS COPS
"This is your fault for not stopping the pursuit" The entitlement of this guy.
Glad the officer's first instinct was to check on the innocent civilian.
But then they just leave him in there!
The officer just sat there and let the perp drive off

Letting the guy get in his car was a bad idea.
Is that Box-In-Level 1? Damn….6Weeks of Policetraining must be hard in US.
Fleeing and attempting to elude ought to be a class B or C felony, regardless of outcome.
2nd cop should have blocked the red car from moving!
@bodycamrawwisconsin TY for following up and informing us of the innocent victim. I believe you are the first one to do that and I'm always more concerned with the victim than I am with the suspect.
these police jurisdictions where they aren't allowed to ram the guy.... FFS !
That poor guy in the van looked devastated. That was a nice van, too. It doesn't look like a work or cargo van. At first I thought maybe a van-life stealth camper, but there's no solar panels, so maybe it was just fairly new and hadn't gotten all beat up yet (until this).
How can one person cause so much destruction? They know they’re going down so they try to cause as much mayhem as humanly possible.
He went from felony evading, to attempted murder. When he hit an Officer with his vehicle . 😮
That worked out well genius😂😂

If it was a one-on-one chase there's NO WAY the $76,000 cop car would have caught that $1,300 red car.
Yeah, it for sure would have. but all these shitbag leftist departments with all that "NO PIT" bullshit it would have gone on like 98% of Commiefornia horseshit chases do.
But try that shit in Arkansas and find out just how fast ASP will fuck your shit up!
$45,000 at most. Those things are sold in bulk and cheap. $76,000 is what they ask the city treasury for.
That WAS a really decent, good running Impala. Maybe someone will enjoy buying that really good engine and tranny from the junkyard.
If you listen to what he was saying, apparently this guy thinks the chase automatically has to stop once someone crashes. That is scary that people think like that

The cop that didn't block him in is the biggest dumb ass here. He really needs to go back through training. He had every opportunity to have this guy blocked in and let him get away. The guy in the van could have been killed.
