Spoke with Richard for help today and he helped me with ease with 1 of the 3 wires that wasn't budging. Finally completed this mod. Thanks again.
Everything was right on point! Good job! Just a reminder to everyone - that drain plug does not have a crush washer, it uses a built-in rubber gasket, so like he said, you just need to snug it up. Thanks for sharing.
great and informative video, i am preparing to do my first oil change on my C5, thanks again
Nice fade & thanks for your DIY dude
Really good video on changing oil in C5, thank you!
Just subscribed almost at 1000 keep grinding
I appreciate it. Definitely going to keep pushing.
Great vid bro! Everyone should change their own oil. 1 tip: do hot oil changes. It's harder to do, uncomfortable, and warm under there so be careful, but always change your oil hot. It makes a difference in the long run. Nice work my friend, keep em coming!
I appreciate it bro. I agree. And you're right. I forgot to mention that. I always make sure my car gets to normal operating temps. Thanks again.
why is it better if it's hot?
@@jonathanvaladez5916 the oil drains more completely
@@408CIDZ you moved from Vegas to Texas right?
@@CadillacJones California to Texas
Thanks for the vid!!! Good job!!!
Thank you for watching.
Great video
I appreciate it
Good job just fill the oil filter with oil before installing.. if not your engine will run dry until filter is full..
Thanks man.
awesome video i need to do mine soon
Yea, me too bro. I probably change mine too often but it's easy to do and not terribly expensive.
@@CadillacJones yea i normally take it to the dealer because its about the same price but im gona do it myself now ill have a video up on my ZR1 front splitter soon
@@leecovette6895 if it's the same price, the dealer isn't bad. I usually do mine at weird times before I get on the road so it's more convenient for me to do it. But I used to take my mustang to the dealer because it was cheaper there than me doing it myself.
@@leecovette6895 I'll be looking for that splitter video.
fill the new filter with oil before you install it.
Good video. Its nice when all goes well. Ive had a few trucks that didnt want to let go of the filter. One time was especially awful. It was easy on my C5, except for having to level the car, therefore having to raise it up. It was all good though.
I appreciate it man. I had a sonata with a cartridge filter. I didn't like it initially but it was one of the easiest and cleanest oil changes.
Getting these C5s in the air is the hard part. After that, it's easy.
@@CadillacJones I agree on both points. C5 everything easy to access once the car is up. I did a kia sorento recently, same filter set up. First time I saw one like that, it was clean and easy.
@@marcanthony6038 makes you appreciate those cartridges.
Great video man! Exactly what needs to happen. I'm all for DIY...these lube shops and service centers don't GAF about your car like you do. They just want repeat customers.
@@amf-v1093 I appreciate it man. You're right. It's just another car. By the time you check it to ensure they did a good job, you can do it yourself
jack stands please, good vid
You're right. I mentioned it but didn't use them myself. 😬 Thank you.
I run Pennzoil and it runs quieter. Mobil 1 just paid GM to have their logo, doesn't mean much.
You should use vr 1 oil (synthetic) since you been using that kind and a 10w-40 since you got aftermarket cam.... And change at 35-40%
Use the vr1 to compensate for the Mobil. I change it every 2k miles. Haven't paid much attention to the oil life.
Yea it has better properties in it to protect against wear you have a higher than stock compression use the synthetic vr1 racing since I’m guessing it’s your daily with a k&n oil filter use the 10w-30 oil
@@casino8857 not a daily per se but I drive it a lot when the weather permits.
😎💯🔥👍🏾
I appreciate it
looks clean under there, does it have any leaks?
Not underneath. Seems like the engine is a little oily in certain spots but nothing crazy. Maybe needs valve cover gaskets.
Use gloves and plastic bag to drop filter.
Do u ever fill filter with oil so it doesn’t start dry
Honestly, I don't. I allow the oil in the engine to do its thing. Not a bad idea though.
You will never be able to break those ramps...
They're very sturdy.
