There were probably hundreds of secret units within the Grand Army of the Republic, and Palpatine made sure that these units were never made public unless under his direction. The Galactic Republicâs Clone Army was massive and no doubt that several of these units werenât allowed to be known even after the war, and no doubt they trained the future Imperial Security Bureau for tactics and strategy.
Hundreds of secret units do not make much sense inside an army.
You may have some special units, and two or three secret sections.
But the main goal of a (big) army is to have an effective tool that follows one streamlined chain of command.
Theyâre definitely canonizing it to some degree with the assassin troopers in The Bad Batch. Identities erased in deep cover, usually sent to kill their targets and will commit suicide to avoid interrogation

Original ARCs are the Nulls?

@@fortisflamma2243 The Original ARCs are the Alpha group. The Null class were mainly test subjects of seeing how powerful they can enhance a PURE Jango clone, their were only a dozen of them.. They were so powerful but they were so independent that the Cloners that made them feared them and wanted them killed after their testing and training. A Mando stepped in and saved them saying he will take them under his wing. The Nulls were one man armies that even jedis can't match their effectiveness in warzones as jedis are not aggressive enough for warzones.. After the war the Mando in charge took them under his wing and trained them as mandos as if they were his sons. The Alpha class is the original ARCs were only numbered just over a hundred but they were just like the nulls but less enhancements and less aggressive. They were also one man armies too and almost just as good, keyword is "almost". They were the last resort when their planet was invaded and pressed into service right after. The ARCs were too few in number so they took in regular clones who show independents and skill into their ARC trooper program for retraining and send out to special missions. Nulls>ARCs(alpha)>ARCs regular/Clone Commandos. --On a side note non-Alpha ARCS were closely equal to Commandos, it's just that Regular Arcs fight on the frontline while Commandos work behind enemy lines in small groups with high tech equipment. I wonder how many of these clones became imperial royal guards. Considering how skilled and loyal they were. They'd make perfect candidates for that role.

If those were covert ops troopers bad batch would be dead since they are commandos, nul arcs and shadow troopers rolled into one type of trooper.
If I wanted a "clone assassin" to kill Jedi I would have them geared up like Mandalorians. Instead of fighting Jedi with blades in close quarter combat, these Mandalorians geared clones would use slugs, shotguns weaponry, jet pack for movement, flamethrower(if jedi get's too clone), and lightsaber resistance armor with explosives for AOE
Teras Kasi was basicaly invented to fuck up jedi as it made a non force user bascialy able to match a normal jedis martial prowes and came with the added bonus that the jedi were not eble to influnce the mind of the user thus robbing them one of their foresight components and for someone that is used to fight with a basic knowledge what his opponent thinks about doing next that would seriously throw them off.
Also getting lightsaber resitant gear while posible is not something super easy. Bescar for example would get you into hot water with the mandalorians because you also would need to get one of their metalsmiths as basicaly no one else knew how to reliable smelt the stuff into funktioning armor (normal mandalorian iron was still good but not bescar quality) and Cortosis was also ultra rare and commonly not as good armorwise as Bescar. All in all getting enought Lightsaber resitant material to deck more then a few Clone Assasins out with Lightsaber resitant gear would make a notable blimp on the Radar of the Jedi Council or one of their friends
@@Blutwind Slug throwers would still be a good idea, since they cant be blocked by lightsaber. Well, unless you count getting hit with molted metal shrapnels as blocked.
I think their armor is lightsaber resistant, if the game is anything to go by. They at least have energy shields, like the Commando armor.
I mean let's be honest here... are we really surprised these types of clones exist.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Multiversal defense force that is sending these ops groups to successfully keep an eye out on, I don't know, anomalous places like Gravity Falls, Twin Peaks, and Maine from the Lovecraft and Stephen King storylines.
Imagine if the entire army was like this just to see how bad a Star Wars timeline could get.

It's always fun to hear someone (not from finland) trying to pronounce finnish. In this case the martial art "terÀs kÀsi" which translates to "steel hand" or "hand of steel". Take your pick.
This takes me back, I remember fighting against these clones in the revenge of the sith ps2 game and they were so annoying to deal with
I've been thinking ever since the Bad Batch trailer dropped that the covert-ops troops in that trailer took inspiration from the covert-ops troopers we see in the Republic Commando novels. I'm wondering if they'll be highlighted at any point in terms of their backgrounds, or if we'll get to see other pieces from the Republic Commando novels, like members of Cuy'val Dar or other commando units. It's really exciting!
This makes me think of that clones wars episode where Rex found a Deserter clone whoâd started a family with a Tâwilek. Even if Rex said he wouldnât report the guy sad to think these guys may have found him.

@@simpleclonetrooper2740 arcs are pretty cool but I think the facts that clone commanders had unique armor makes them a cooler design in my opinion
@@afkninjachickenwithfries4102 that armor is pretty dope almost like a spartan from Halo
Commandos wont survive a open battle field though their spec opts for infultration, in a open battle field youll want arc troopers who are pretty much 1 man armies, take the 1st battle of geonosis for example as commandos had a over 80% causualty rate, so not best but very good for what they are intended for which is if you played the games youd would know it is sabotage, stealing data and other more steathly operations
Also number and military terminology wise they not a division, however ngl i can totally see how would people make that mistake, but the commandoes were part of the spec ops brigade

I thought this was about the new clones in the Bad Batch trailer. Also, sounds like that new Republic Commando short film from Cinematic Captures
So if these clones knew using blasters where futile why not use slug throwers or projectile weapons instead like machine guns etc

Most slugthrowers in star wars despite being relatively primitive are actually pretty crude and not as reliable compared to blasters or our own guns. Some were but they weren't too common.

I remember one of the unlockable mission on the revenge of the sith video game, where you play as yoda, and you mop the floor with quite a few of these guys. It was honestly comical, but what do you expect lol.
You just helped me out with a fan fic. Yay.
Always thought it would be interesting to have a show centered around an elite clone assassin, from his time training on Kamino and during the age of the Empire.
It would be cool to have a darker Star Wars show around a character who isnât morally good. Yet, the factors in childhood that led to this would be explores. His brutal role in Order 66, perhaps in the Temple, would also be interesting to see.
I think a good plot would have him go rogue after his chip malfunctions or loses its efficacy and have him learn the truth behind 66. He would then go on a mission of revenge against the empire, not out of moral concerns, but out of anger of learning his freedom was taken away. Parallels could be drawn between the clones lack of freedom, between being bred as basically war slaves by the republic to losing their freedom of thought under the empire. His quest would be one of pursuit of freedom and revenge on those who took it from him, and he would not be limited by the morals of normal protagonists. This period should also see some moral development, but the mistake of making him a âgood guyâ like Boba Fett should be avoided.
Just imagine how badass a rogue ex-clone assassin on a mission of revenge would be.
I still remember how badass they were in revenge of the sith wish we could've used em in that game like the Magna guards.
I like the way their armor is designed.
The clone assassins remind me a lot of MTF Alpha-1 from SCP lore
