Real Madrid had a dry spell of 30 years (1967-1997)
But when the organization of football became more modern, the machinery of money, especially the shirts and television rights in Latin America (with half of the fans there, from Real Madrid and the other half from Barcelona), made the very strong Spanish league.
Real Madrid had a spectacular heritage, and that was attracting the best players in the world, at the time when the money started pouring in. Then the team wins the Champions League in 1998, 2000, 2002, and Zidane, Ronaldo, Figo, Anelka, Beeckham, Owen, Ancelotti, then Cristiano Ronaldo, Modric... All the great players and coaches want to belong to that story. ever. Then come the champions of 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022... All the children who are training now see that on television, and think: I want to be Real Madrid or Barcelona one day. Perhaps one day the Champions League will be called: Spanish league, as happened with motorcycles, when Spain won all the championships, and the pilot Konsinki said: "This looks like the Spanish championship." Real Madrid has reached the semifinals of the Champions League 10 of the last 12 times.
I have the feeling that if PSG doesn't win it in the next couple of years the Emir will leave the club. So hopefully they don't haha. It would be quite poetic to see this team without oil money trying to do something.
The thing is when we lose, it’s something big. But when Madrid wins they get no credit cause that’s what Madrid is known about, WINNING. No other clubs gets as much crap when they lose than Real Madrid.
Anti Madridista media bias. Let them laugh and hate we will respond by winning the UCL. Hala Madrid! 🤫

It's also funny how Ancelotti came. It's not like they thought of him as a last resort candidate or anything. Carlo just called Jose Angel Sanchez and told him "you guys have the best possible manager right here." Jose Angel asked him if he was serious then said ok, let me talk to Florentino. Few hours later we have a new coach. It's like something they never considered but once they realized the chance they took it instantly.
Proves that Real is miles ahead of any club, real are inevitable
This Madrid was the most humble Madrid world had ever seen. And that's the point they won CL without being the dominant.
They came back from losing positions in the 2nd leg of UCL round of 16, quarter final and semi final. Bear in mind they did this against PSG- favourites to win the UCL in many people's opinions, against Chelsea- defending champions of Europe and against Man City- the team who are winning the PL regularly in recent years. And bear in mind again, they did it only a few years after losing one of histories greatest and a year after losing their world class CB duo. So they had to put faith in young Madridstas like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Eder Militao, which takes some guts. Another thing, they signed Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic, but both flopped massively. But Real didn't let this stop them like many teams do, they carried on without the flops. If a similar story was written about another giant club, it would most definitely not result in Champions League glory. So if all that isn't enough to call this the greatest run in UCL history, what is?
Its certainly one of the hardest if not the hardest but not the greatest. Greatest would mean that a team obliterated every single club in their run. Like what bayern did last year, not losing or going behind in a single match

Me too
The beauty and the harshness of this club is that it's never enough. I still remember the celebrations of LaDecima( The 10th ) back in 2014, an obsession of the club during 12 years. When Casillas was at Cibeles doing the honors, he spoke on the mic and said, "And now let's get the 11th, and the 12th...." It's a beauty because the culture of the club is to win, no excuses. It's really harsh because sometimes teams and players need time, and that's not something that's generally awarded here. For example, if I'm being fully honest, Vinicius' progress over these last 3 years has been a byproduct of chance, if Munier hadn't destroyed Hazard's ankle, and career, back in November 2019, then that space in the starting lineup wouldn't have opened for a player that was so talented, yes, but futbolistically immature. During the 2nd half of the 2019-2020 season and the 2020-2021 Vinicius wasn't the starter but he did occupy the position the most out of all the other wingers. That allowed him to grow in competition, get experience, and withstand criticism. COVID also allowed him to do it without fans, which probably helped as well.
This has to be the most epic, legendary, onto the history books run of any team through all Champions League's history.

It's the GOAT club for sure. Because, if they can't win it with pure talent, if they can't win it with a beautiful play style, if they can't win it with brilliant tactics, then they will win it with a never say die mentality! And fun fact, no club has ever done all of those things before only Real Madrid.
People really need to give Perez more credit. He conducts business that sustains the club on the long run rather than on the feelings of fans.
The squad now is a combination of youngsters and more senior players, and the younger players are gradually gaining that experience. And now Perez knows that the senior players do not have many more years to give, he only gives them one year contract extension (Modric the most recent).
And when they don’t accept or ask for a pay raise he lets them leave (Ronaldo and Ramos). You can say that it is ungrateful of him to treat legendary players like this, but he has the club’s future to look after.
Exactly and no one understands that. To be the best club you need to have the team and cannot keep anyone who may harm that
I mean your are 100% right I think Real economically is a giant that is self sufficient. Legends need Real to be successful not the other way around. Florentino is a great president thinks the sport and economical aspect or the team. Yes Bayern may have zero debt but this is a team that has no rivals in the league and is the most attractive team in Germany its easier to bring is stars from the German league. Real Madrid on the other hand has a Barcelona and a revived Atletico Madrid to challenge Real Madrid for players. The financial stability of Barcelona is necessary for Real Madrid because its promotes rivalry that helps create a health competition in trophies which in turn brings revenue. Money which in revenue Manchester United is the only other team that can compete with the clasico duo.
It's still hard to believe how they did it...but they did it...with old blood and young blood...masters find a way...#HalaMadrid...

It’s crazy that people still doubt this team even after this win. it should already be known that we are inevitable 🐐
I'm kinda glad Real won. I think due to Cristiano and Bale, people forget that Benzema is one of the most complete center forward of his generation. He is the one putting in the work, when Cristiano and Bale are more concerned about individual performance. Without Benzema providing assists, drawing defenders, making runs, being less concerned about his own numbers, Cristiano might not be able to put up the numbers that he achieved. While he do have issues off the pitch, now Benzema proved that he can be the main man upfront and still win things.
I am a Liverpool fan but I am very happy for real Madrid.

We don't need to win the CL to prove to everyone that we can contend the "Biggest Club" title. I was lucky to start supporting in 2011 (in a big Domestic and European drought) when Barca were at their peak, it was difficult to challenge them domestically or in Europe but the club's mentality, culture and DNA allowed us to shape up a side that would go on to win 4 Champions League titles in 5 years. This one is slightly different because of the struggle we had to overcome but it just showed that with a competent manager and a squad willing to do anything for the club anything was possible. Still rebuilding a few departures over the last years but new players still stepped up when needed.
