To me Paige Bueckers is the best pure basketball player on Earth. That includes overseas and the WNBA. She is Steph Curry, with Tony Allen's defense. On offense, she's a lights out shooter, moves well without the ball, and creates great shots for her team with slick passes or playing decoy. On defense she knows how to lean on a player's strong hand, funnel them to help, and navigate through puck and roll sets. She's the total package.
@@jiijiceente533 Paige Bueckers has the best package of skills, along with the necessary experience and drive to be the best in the world. That's what I mean by best pure basketball player.
Something you said was very on target yet you never spoke of it directly. The quality of players coming out of college is getting better and better and with Clark and Bueckers leading the way, the WNBA will be very much alive and for all the doomsday pessimists out there the league will survive and actually flourish! Besides the players the league needs to take care of many logistical concerns. If a franchise is currently playing it's home games in a High School gym, they are out of the League. Producing a 'Game of the Week' with a lot of fanfare has to be created. and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, the league (and each team) needs to introduce every player to the public with a load of stats and a little positive history about each one of them. The expression, "I root for the uniform" doesn't apply until the league promotes it intelligently. Fans need to know everything about every team, not just the one they root for. The league needs to hire a front office person ready to get this league ready to say hello to Clark and Bueckers and those who follow. Personally, Paige is more, much more than perhaps the best player we have ever seen. Her persona is incredible and people like her who are genuine beautiful human beings not only will be admired by all but she will also put a smile on their faces, as well. Any opponent and their fans appreciate Paige for who she is. Of course they will hope their team wins the game but part of the fun is watching Paige play like no one else can. So, hire that executive, WHO HAS A TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS to get things done: Transportation of teams; adequate quarters on the road; interaction with the fans; providing stat's galore in the papers, on tv, on the internet. And promote the fantastic game it is and getting better quality of play each season. Playing the game UNDER THE RIM is beautiful to watch. The speed of the game is full speed ahead; shooters are all over the place and the defensive play is ferocious! Now, if everyone knows the names of the players and a little about who they are, that can be the beginning of a love affair and eventually the fans will welcome new players to join their team, the team with a uniform which means a lot to them.
I live in CT and have been a UCONN fan for decades. We've never had a player like Paige Bueckers. She's not leaving UCONN this year. And, maybe Azzi will stay as well. Caitlin Clark is great? Well, why hasn't Iowa won at least ONE National Championship? NONE! Paige is a team player, she doesn't have 4 players that play to feed her the ball. The other 4 players on the UCONN's team can do it all. In once recent game 5 players scored in the teens. That's why Paige is a complete player - like none we've ever seen before in CT. Remember, there is no "I" in the word team.
A team would have to be two shades of stupid to trade for an injury prone asset and give up those two young players that could be championship building pieces even entertaining the idea is ludicrous
@@politicallil7060 @politicallil7060 It's a gamble, but makes sense for two reasons. Paige is the best prospect since Candace Parker. If you can add her to a stacked roster and win a Championship within a year or two, you'll take that. Even if it means sacrificing multiple huge assets. 2nd, Paige will deliver dollars and clout. If I was an executive for a small market team like Minnesota I'm making that trade 100 times out of 100.
Excellent review bro I agree with you on what the Sparks should do but the Lynx will never make that trade. The lynx will find their PG in the draft when they draft Sheldon out of Ohio State. Btw Paige is not entering this year's draft she is returning to UCONN as she has a yr of eligibility left at UCONN and NIL money is netter than what they get in the WNBA.
Sadly, Paige Bueckers likely has very few prime years left. Her body isn't built for pro basketball long term. Whoever gets her should expect a Brandon Roy type of career. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but all the signs are there. She just suffered a neck injury mid-game this week.
it’s unfair to decide her future for her or assume the worst, she could end up playing till 40 the way DT does, I hope so. A few knee injuries aren’t going to stop her. Watch sue bird and Kobe play till their prime and more so after sustaining serious knee injuries. Sue had an ACL injury and Kobe had an Achilles tendon rupture, many articles came out Highlighting and assuming whether his career is over which was proven otherwise. Sue ended up playing for the Olympics and went on to win many championships with Seattle. We aren’t knowledgeable enough to comment on whether she is playing long term or not, let’s keep this for the ones who know. and hope for the best. As in for the neck injury, it was a slight collision which made her sit on the bench for a few minutes, she came back in the third quarter and ended up with 32 points in 34 minutes. UConn had a game yesterday, Paige played 24 minutes and had 20 points, made some times for the bench players after uconn had a huge deficit. Post game interviews showed she’s fine.
I would like to see her dive loose balls a lot less. That’s not the first time she’s taken a hall fall from one. I understand she’s a hustle player but it’s not worth the risk. Paige Bueckers injuries are undeniably a concern but she’s played in 2 NCAA tournaments and (hopefully) she’ll have played an entire season this year. She won’t be healthy 100% of the time but she’s proven she can play long enough be the main focus of a team. I’m a lot more worried about Azzi Fudd. As much I hate saying it her career might be completely over
@@maxpower247 True. She's tough and can play at a high level through nagging injuries. Azzi Fudd will likely have an overseas career. Also shout out to you for cranking out a video right before the big game.

Highly controversial opinion but it’s not easy translating your game to the W. A top player could be no.1 in college but not in the w.
