    I don't know if this is possible, but Field of Glory Empires does this really weird mechanic called decadence, basically big empires are in a ticking time bomb which causes civil wars etc the moment they stop expanding (while of course small and consolidated states aren't as affected). It's another anti-snowball mechanic (really anti-stagnation mechanic) which might the end game more interesting.

      @banananotebook3331 Před 2 lety +19

      @@MareStiko Decadence is kind of weirder; it's a brute force way of simulating the rise/stable/fall/inter-regnum cycles of empires. Take the late Roman Empire, which fell prey to many frequent civil wars (which it just happened to weather until external invasions proved too much).

    • @matthiasdarrington3271

      @@MareStiko nah it's not a question of cultures, it's a question of economic model losing grip. When your model is based around war, you crumble as soon as there is nothing of value left to conquer.

      This should be a thing, but depending on the money/skill/effort you put into internal country management, you should be able to stop some civil conflicts, and delay others (but of course some conflicts should be inevitable), but then again maybe EU4 should also have an imperial penalty like rome total war 2 that would make coalitions/international intervention more likely if you expand as a large empire, while pressure is put on you internally to keep expanding to avoid civil war.

    Mordor timelaspe:
    You spawn the custom nation of Mordor on the whole Himalaya, you give them strong starforts at their strategical points. Capital most be Barad'dur with 60 devs, full usefull military building. The ruler must be 6/6/6 immortal Sauron with tyrannical traits.
    They must have: Huge bonuses on the manpower pool, utterly cheap nearly free units, really good fort defense bonuses. But: overly crappy discipline and moral, bad diplomatical relationships and other antagonistic factors for generating coalitions against them. Finally, Overly aggressive Mordor AI.

    Dear Paradox: if a regularly formed country is formed by someone they're not regularly formed by, please keep their old colour. So if Aragon forms Spain, keep them red. And if Scotland forms Britain, keep them yellow. Sincerely, the people who spend a couple seconds being shocked during weird-rule timelapses because they think a defeated country has suddenly gotten all its land back.

    • @banananotebook3331
      @banananotebook3331 Před 2 lety +2

      Well, it's kind of weird, because for a while when England and Scotland was in a personal union guess which country ol' James decided to spend most of his time in? Scotland, or England? It's kind of weird that in history, just because you win a war doesn't mean you win the great test of time, like how the mongols conquered China and then basically got assimilated into the country.

      Isn't GB's colour historically red?

    • @Patches2212
      @Patches2212 Před 2 lety +3

      The thing is- colour is tied to tags, so for that to be the case, every single variant of such a nation forming (Welsh GB, Scottish GB, Cornish GB... Navarran Spain, Aragonese Spain, etc) would have to be a distinct and new tag (which is a lot of work to try and implement). The same applies to flags being tied to the tag.
      The only things that really are "changeable" about a nation is its name (aka like how The Kingdom of God and Caliphate are only cosmetic changes to their original tag), or idea sets (which can have parameters like "If Scotland form GB, they get this set of ideas instead of that set").
