I had this issue with my stock 1s. I ended up using a heat gun on the back by the tabs and on the inside on the bumper to get them aligned.
Yeah this is why I stopped messing with carbon fiber unless it’s a spoiler. So much effort for it to most likely fit poorly. It also contracts and expands with weather which makes the fitment inconsistent. Also having to worry about clear coat lifting from the carbon isn’t any fun either😅 gloss black everything except for a spoiler for me lol

I wish I had the balls to post my moment like this because god know I do have these moments. Tried to get bushings in my lower front arms of s2k, it took fucking days. It was just me and a stupid autozone tool with no instructions. It’s the bushing that the lower shock bolt passes through. I had to bending my fucking coilover and it looks so fucking stupid.

Yeah APR can be hit or miss. On my FK8 their gtc wing started having epoxy issues, and their splitter doesn't even come with proper hardware to secure the splitter the right way. People usually put the small rods they give you on the plastic bumper lol

After I pay for the GR86 bumper, then buy two new tires for the Type R, I’ll see where I’m at money wise

I bet you look back and regret, but trust me we need to see this because what you experience is very relatable and show us how many Car Enthusiasts like myself screw up sometimes and how long it takes to work on our cars. Soome CZcamsrs try to be too perfect while some have mechanics and act like they did all the work and never give proper credit. I try to work on my cars the best i can. I have yet to get a proper toolkit and lift for my car.
I have aftermarket wheels and tires..Tell me why i used the stock jack which barely got my FG4 off the ground to change the front wheel/tire with my spare wheel/tire. It broke too. I had to call my insurance road side assistance who came with their car and had a harbor freight jack in their trunk. I felt so embarrassed with the neighbors watching lol. I was wondering how i wouod get to work the next day without Ubering. Atleast we try and do the best we can which is what matters most. Keep up the awesome content and take your time uploading because life happens and you are only human like us all. Tbh CF/fiber glass parts always have fitment issues. Its just that brands like APR and Seibon usually fit “better” than some other brands.
i have a 2017 STI that I bought a Seibon front splitter for and it has turned chalkey!It cost me 800.00 at the time.Never again.I will buy ebay stuff for now on at one third the price!

Never heard back. I bought these from 86Speed.com so I would have had to go through them to get any sort of refund of whatever

It was outside on an 85 degree day so it was a little more flexible

the clamp connecting the muffler section to the midpipe was the toughest to get on for me

I just tried to put these on my GR86 as well... Spent all day Saturday. I didn't want to brake them. Same issue: the tabs are not flexible enough so they dont pop into the tab openings. The OEM pop in and out easily. They look great but, Shame on APR for selling these. They have great products and never had an issue with the many I've bought. However, this is ridiculous, Their instructions make it look like a seamless install. Your are better off with a CF overlay.

You should've used a heat gun to soften the plastic bumper sections that the aftermarket part fit in. It makes it easier to manipulate the creases and slide the part in also avoids breaking brittle tabs
Btw these ricer mods are never worth the buy. You're better off buying better plugs or just gas.
