looks killer. The cut came out much cleaner than I thought. I wonder if like splitter hangers with the right angle could bolt up to support the bumper? A quick google showed minimal options... Looking forward to seeing how the rear diffuser looks.👍
Ya know what's crazy is I thought about doing this a couple weeks ago. I liked how it looked on the previous gen 86, so was wondering what it would look like here. Looks fabulous.
Super excited for more weight savings to come! I saw a video of a Japanese gr86 where they dropped the weight to 2250lbs by basically removing the interior carpets seats and everything as well as having fiber glass fenders and a hood. What more weight savings are you planning on doing?
@@phelpsgarage4202 2250 is doable too! I know removing the hvac and Stereo system would save a ton of wait but why not also the passenger seat and rail? If it’s a dedicated track car how often is someone going to sit in the passenger seat?
I was just looking for this mod and no one has uploaded anything like this yet. Hell yeah 🙌
Perfect! Hopefully it helps

Thank you! Waiting for a splitter at the moment. Need to see the class rules about a rear diffuser, might not use one
Nice touch with the support brackets at the end
It works lol
When I get my 2022 GR86 I'm going to do a bumper cut and a center exit exhaust
You should make a chassis mounted rear diffuser
I might buy the Verus one once I can make the floor as flat as possible
Nice!

2250lbs is super light! Yes I will.. maybe HVAC systems and radio with all the speakers

And If you want to see the video you can search “200kg lightened gr86” and it’ll be the first one that pops up
@@ZN8BD I’m not saying I’m the best driver but sometimes I teach people in my car how to track lol
@@phelpsgarage4202 ah that makes sense lol
Brother it’s hard to see bc it’s dark/black. Use light so the camera can pick up the content better
That’s my next investment! Thanks for your input
what about adding a diffuser at the empty hole
We could, but one of the classes I would like to race in doesn’t allow a diffuser
You don't need to have a rear diffuser to race?
Nope!
Looks so much lighter now 😅
A few pounds lighter 😂
Have you noticed the difference now that it’s been a while
I do with the wing.. but I’m waiting for the splitter to come in so I can take full advantage of it.
