Installing a GR86 FRONT BUMPER onto my 2022 Subaru BRZ!

- In this video, I will show you how to swap a GR86 front bumper onto your 2022+ Subaru BRZ! I did this for a couple reasons, which I explain in the video. Very happy with how it came out!

Happy Birthday man! I also turned 28 this year…have a 23’ BRZ…live in the Bay Area and thought of moving to Tampa FL last year, (visited St. Pete in April lol). Might eventually go to San Diego or South Bay next.

Swap looks much better and more aggresive and the exhaust sounds amazing! I'm surprised you don't have yourself a small impact wrench, makes quick work of removing nuts and bolts. So much quicker than a ratchet. Dewalt DCB923 works amazing and I also use it to swap wheels. It's a 3/8 impact wrench and does great work for brakes and small stuff as well.

Awesome stuff man! So glad I found this video, cause I was exactly thinking of swapping the front bumper of my future GR86 to the one from the BRZ and was wondering if it fits as well as I imagine. Seems it does. Just too bad I couldn't find any videos of anyone swapping to the BRZ front on the GR86, but this still gives a good sense of what to expect in that scenario as well. Thanks man!
Editb oh btw, you mentioned color matching - is that basically painting the bumper? Also do you know if the colors on the 2 cars are different for pavement gray or where to lool up if they are?

I guess I’m the only person who prefers the BRZ front bumper, especially once lowered and on a nice body kit. It actually looks a bit similar to the MK4 Supra front end.
I like both and both have cons to nickpick about. People want what others don't have. For instance, UK only gets GR and no BRZ in the country and thus used BRZ prices are much higher due to rarity

I love Subaru’s WR Blue Pearl paint, but like the GR86’s bumper better. If I get a BRZ I might be doing this, it looks good.
I did the bumper swap too. SO much better. I put custom toyota badges and changed the caps in the wheels to 86 caps. debaged the subaru and brz. Know one knows its a subaru. lol

HI. I just bought a 23 brz. Do you know you if the dash has a oil life maintenance reminder? I been reading the manual and checked all the settings and couldnt find. TIA
I don't think it does. I could be wrong. I don't change the views on the dash too often
@@Camhill182 I dont think so either. I spent the last 30 minutes trying to find it. There is an area to manually enter the oil but i dont think system generated. How often do you change your oil?

mine.. 2013 fr-s.. the grille could not hold.. it was not clipping and was always half loose.. the darn fender markers.. ..
hard to re-install .. under the lights.. ouch.. had to do it 3 times.. thanks subaru..
i had a 350z before..and i had re-painted the bumper and it was a breeze to remove and put back..

With the brz you can get away with a 2015 wrx badge design, cut the pegs and 3M.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but the drivers side plastic boomerang duct looking insert didn’t look like it clicked in all the way. I’m sure you caught it by now

You gotta get the air ducts. Looks like it holds the lower bumper on below the side markers. Be more complete that way.
Maybe Marco could have done the logo delete with bandó. That’s what my dad did on his 89 foxbody when he installed every thing new.

Hmmm.. this makes the BRZ tS much more tempting. The front bumper is what makes me want the GR86 over the BRZ.
Why’d you opt for the BRZ over the GR86?
Subaru dealers offer the ability to order the exact spec you want, the BRZ came out months before the GR86, Subaru dealers are MUCH more likely to sell at or below MSRP, and lastly because I liked the world rally blue color on the BRZ
I like more the GR86 but with the front bumper of the Subaru !!!
How do you get the emblem out of the brz front bumper?
you don't. that emblem is a different shape and size and will not fit on the GR bumper
