Another disturbing thing is that they're too oblivious and naive and most of the time, they want to suck the fame and fortune out of their own child. That is disgusting beyond words existent. My parents wouldn't even allow me to use social media (like Facebook, snapchat, Instagram ect) and I only got 2 hours of "screen time" (is what they called it). They raised me "old school," I thank them for that every time I get to see them. Now that I'm a young adult, I love to be out in nature and enjoy the small things in life. It's a much better way to live (at least in my opinion).

Right? Yes, the dude is likely a creep, but you need multiple witnesses that will directly implicate someone. You need concrete evidence to convict someone. Yes, I believe Dan is likely a weird guy, but there are multiple people that were arrested and convicted. There was evidence of what they did. the turnaround from the mid-80's with Nick being the lowest rated channel to one on the top rung of the ladder by the mid-90's is really impressive.

These grown people who abuse kids all have one thing in common- they all have the closest bonds with kids and many kids find that endearing, especially the ones who don't share that bond with their parents. As they grow closer to the kid, they start taking advantage of them. It boils my blood to remember all this and to realise that its the exact same formula for most of these creeps.

This was a great investigative video. I felt like I had seen all that there was to see, but you pulled in so much more. It also helped me get some closure to the quiet on set documentary because I was left to wonder if Dan really did any SA activities or just guilty of being a creep.

I dont think the ad was that bad, the video was still eye-opening and well made. The man needs his bread.
I think the MeToo movement was one giant pivot on behalf of the entertainment industry to sacrifice anyone who’d abused women (and men in some cases), while actively ignoring the many, many cases of child abuse. In the end it was branded as a women-first moment in order to side-step the issue of child abuse. MeToo was basically Hollywood’s way of absolving themselves while making minimal sacrifices and taking ZERO responsibility.

The MeToo Movement was abused and was carried over to normal joes trying to ask girls out on dates Hollywood has always been creepy with kids the most famous example of this is Shirley Temple.
Roman Polanski Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey has been known and even joked about for decades in Hollywood its only when they go after the wrong rich person that something happens.
It's wild how prevalent p*dophilia is in our society and has been for so long. I remember being a kid in the 2000s and seeing the "pedobear" meme. It's apparently so funny that some people sexualize and abuse kids. As much as we want to look back and say someone should have stopped this, it really was the culture. Im so glad people are working to expose this kind of thing and condemn it now. We can't keep letting people think they can get away with stuff like this by just playing it off as jokes, or worse, as normal
Condmening comedy for this isnt the way i dont think. Its more nuanced than "Making jokes about dark subjects is bad". Comedy is critical at its core after all. We use it to cope with things and part of that is shaming people who do bad things. Its about how its used and structured.

Im saying that pedophiles use "jokes" where the sexualization of children is the punchline to give themselves plausible deniability and a shield to hide behind if they're ever called out. It gives them a way to say no I wasn't actually serious about sexualizing a child, it was just comedy. You can make jokes about whatever you want, but if the punchline is that a minor is put in a sexual situation, then that is not a joke, that is just putting a minor in a sexual situation.
And joking about that kind of stuff also makes it seem more normal to children and makes it harder for kids to spot when something is inappropriate, which is called grooming. The popularity of a meme like pedobear with children normalized the idea of children being sexualized as funny. I know a lot of pedobear memes were used to call out people being creepy towards children, which on its own shows how prevalent pedophiles have always been on the internet (and beyond) but as it got popular it morphed and some people used it just to make "jokes" that were like "lol isn't child sexual abuse funny? Isn't this child actually kind of hot?" And especially as children saw these memes, they did not always understand the nuance. Add that to jokes made on nickelodeon where the punchline is some kind of liquid on a child's face, and it paints a disturbing picture of how adults normalize sexual topics for children so they can groom and abuse them.
So yeah comedy is comedy and dark subjects aren't off limits to be joked about. But in the specific cases I was referencing it's necessary to be critical and condemn "jokes" where the punchline just leads to child abuse

Additionally, yes the channel creator IS promoting gambling if he’s being paid to do an ad read, that’s the EXACT definition of promotion.
Furthermore, people with gambling problems typically DO avoid being around things that trigger them (such as gambling promotions and depictions of gambling in entertainment) for a fairly long while in the early stages of their recovery in the same way drug addicts do in their early recovery, yes they have work to do, that’s the entire point, but when people with totally unrelated content start promoting gambling that will by it’s very nature of appearing on a channel that otherwise has nothing to do with gambling is entirely unexpected, which absolutely can create problems for people who are attempting to avoid addiction triggers.
I’m not going to insult you or anything, but you’re fairly misinformed on this topic, so you should probably avoid talking about subjects that you aren’t familiar with in the future, it’s not the best look for anyone when they chime in on subjects that they aren’t informed about.
