I really like this puzzle, so many unique concepts in such a small piece
That is one gorgeous puzzle you can just display it when you are done solving it also sweet chess set
By the time you solve the puzzle Houdini has drowned.

I feel like this screwing puzzle mechanics is the second most common puzzle solving step next to spinning.
That chess board though
I think I happened across the designed solution? After removing the sleeve I put the screw back in but only to point where there is a concaved surface. Put the base back on. From there a few gentle shakes allows the ball to sit in the hole. Next all you have to do is turn the screw enough to make sure it is in contact with the ball. carefully take the magnetic base and flip it over. This way it is still magnetized but the treads are exposed.. Carefully take the whole puzzle and turn it over. Hold the canaster and turn the screw by turning the base and the ball will lower onto Houdini. Once the ball is on his head then remove the base and turn the screw until he is free. The first time I did it I didn't need the base after I turned it over...not sure if the screw held some magnetic energy. Would have been cool if they could have made the puzzle so it could hold water. This way when you solve the water would whoosh out with the solve. I was thinking it was the designed solution because it was easier than trying to catch the ball as it dropped.

This is also one of my favourite puzzles. It's so strange to look at. It's like dude what is that thing on your shelf. Ha ha it feels like if Houdini was a puzzle designer this is exactly how his puzzles would be.

I remember when he did this as a full episode and kept trying to spin it and drop it between the screw and head by screwing it in as it dropped. This was so much easier

this is one of those where I'd never solve it cause I'd just be worried that the screw is just a mechanical element and if i touch it I'll break the puzzle
