"I have a leathermaker's drill, yeah?" the way Bob says this line while looking out at the audience like it's totally an everyday thing we should all know about kills me 🤣
I know that bit made me laugh so much😅
Same 😂
Really shows how important delivery is for a comedian. It’s not a funny line but with bobs delivery it’s genuinely one of the most I’ve ever laughed
I nearly feel if my chair..
The other line.. well where do u stop....
Dont u need a special light...?
Pause..from bib
I got a Kitchen island....
(His genuine delivery is extraordinary)
This, for me, is the most psychotic Bob Mortimer moment. It was at this moment that I was convinced that Bob Mortimer was the modern version of a trickster god
Qaaa😊po
Psychotic is the correct word to use in this situation
'A t rickster god' Got it in one
Bob Mortimer really does talk like he has no idea what he's going to say next. It's fascinating. He seems to be just as surprised by where his stories go as we are. :D
Because it's like pulling pollen off of a mouse's handkerchief.
Doesn't matter how many times you've seen this clip, it never gets old!
I must have watched these replays at least 100 times 😂 still never fails to make me laugh
Davids despairing "Its always true!" Is the best bit of this.
"ooo, theyve not used fuji!" so many fantastic lines in this omfg
I’ve only just noticed, but when Bob mentions his dentist and David pulls him up on it, when Bob tries to explain that he has a dentist, he re-reads the card as if to remind himself of the original statement. The man is a comedy genius!
Bobs stories are always hillarious but when David retells the story so he can get the scenario straight in his head, it makes it even funnier.
Ah, was in the audience for this one. Funniest thing I've ever seen.
@@melle7505it was the funniest thing they’ve seen
@@jumblejumbo you've just watched it...👀
how do you apply to get into the audience?
do you by chance have a leathermakers drill
What was the editing? Because clips are definitely edited.
Even his own team members forgot to play along and were sure its a lie. Bob is a legend
"Fuji 9 with its little orange spoon" ...he is so specific in the details of his stories, whether he is lying or telling the truth. I love Bob!
17 sugars!
By the 18th, too sweet for me!😂😂😂😂😂
David's look of sheer resignation as his team said the story was true is the best part of this video
Its not, no
At 3:29 Bob is doing his best not to die laughing describing the "little orange spoon"
That's Fuji 9!
Littler end
It was at this moment David lost his last shred of sanity
No, that would be the Bob Mortimer story about Chris Rhea putting an egg in his bath.
This very much paved the way for the Chris Rea story
David's ability to discern reality around Bob was dealt a heavy blow
Every time Bob Mortimer is on WILTY, he's on Lee Mack's team and the most questions asked to him are also by Lee Mack himself! 😂😂
He is on Lees team to torture David 😂
Leather makers drill was so bloody funny
The way he turns to the audience and nods as if they're all going to agree with it is fantastic
Davids reaction when he said it´s always true is probably the funniest bit in the show period ^^
Fuji IX is a real thing, too. "GC Fuji IX GP® is the easy-to-use, handle and place fluoride releasing alternative to expensive compomers and composites and in many cases, amalgam. It cures extremely hard and is very wear resistant. As a true glass ionomer, it chemically bonds to tooth structure, has a tooth-like coefficient of thermal expansion and releases significant levels of rechargeable fluoride. It is available in hand-mix powder-liquid and premeasured capsules." Amazing.
Love how the writers give Lee outrageous bits to make up to mess with him and put Bob in Lee's team to mess with David.
17 sugars in a cup of tea is the wildest part of this story for me.
And 18 it’s to sweet for him 😂😂😂😂😂
@@leecorcoran6174 Everyone has to draw the line somewhere. 18 would just be ridiculous.
After reading Bob's book - he did that as a coping mechanism after his dad died. He was very young, so I have to wonder how long he kept that up for
@@greasyphilip Keep it light...
I'll never get tired of rewatching it
The tone in which David Mitchel said “I think it’s true” the second time around was so funny.
Bob *has* lied at least once, but he's definitely brought on to just tell the truth and be his weird, wonderful self more often than not.
Oh I think he has lied a few times the one that pops into my head is the sick owl they gave him to care for till it died.
He lies almost as often as he tells the truth, but those are almost always spotted and only make the unseen bits at the end of the series. Chris Rea putting an egg in his bath is the only lie, outside of few now that they have someone else have the guest in the this is my round, that made it to air in the regular series.
The sick owl lie was from the same episode that gave us theft and scrubbery. He claimed to hang a digery doo in a tree in his garden the same episode that he ripped an apple in half.
@@billjames8036they really didn't understand quite how sick the owl was
I saw the story in the title before I knew who was telling it and thought "who the hell could possibly sell this bullshit?" As soon as I read Bob Mortimer I pissed myself and thought "No doubt it's true"
The existence of fuji 9 implies the existence of a fuji 8
We wouldn't survive a single day in life as Bob.
I wouldn't survive _an hour_
This clip got me hooked on this show. One of my favorite bits.
What an awesome character he is!
My favourite clip of this absolute legend
Access to Fuji 9 is the key to home dentistry. 😊
Leather maker’s drill might be the best three words ever put in sequence
A series of children's picture books about his adventures would be a top seller.
"Mr Mortimer had a toothache, and he didn't want to go to the dentist, so he decided to put a chair on his kitchen counter"
Bob Mortimer is amazing but this has to be the best story he's ever told on WILTY.
Possibly, but I'll always be fond of the Damon Hill 'pocket meat' tale as it was the first one I saw.
We do beg your pardon
Wolf!
Speedway stadium
It's the owl one for me. It helped because on the opposing team was nature expert steve backshaw.
What an absolute genius
Bob going “That’s Fuji IX!” Gives me Numberwang vibes lol
6:15 i think he was about to cry
Bobs clips never get old !!
Bob's one of a kind
Stacey’s gesture at 0:40… bless her, completely oblivious.
One of my favourite epiaodes!
you know when you see some show and you recall a few key details in a scene while your mind fills in the rest? I just remembered this clip and looked for it thinking it was from some documentary about an insane man.
Bob Mortimer is genuinely the greatest living englishman
I looked up Leathermakers drill and my spine tingled. That's nuts, but it should work.
I like the rapport between Bob and Lee. Looks genuine.
David should’ve remembered the detail at 1:26 when Bob mentioned that his top front teeth are false. Bob came on for a later series and his card read that he lost almost all his teeth biting into a Kit Kat chunky. Could’ve been a very short segment.
He certainly would have, but they act in the interest of keeping the flow of the show. No point cutting a Bob segment shorter than it needs to be, and he knows that
@@Cowmilker98I doubt it has anything to do with anyone acting to keep an interest in Bob. I just think that, unlike us wilty fans, David and the cast don't watch the show back multiple times to the point of remembering every single anecdote ever told in great detail. David has heard hundreds of stories on the show and roughly half of them are lies so it's not that easy to keep track of every detail. I honestly think David just forgot that Bob had a bridge after a few years.
@@user-xz4jz6nz2m iirc in that same episode David recalled something from Bob's dentistry story later on
The sequel to this shows exactly why you shouldn’t do your own Dentistry kids!
His dentistry isn't what lost to a chilled Kit Kat Chunky.
love bob mortimer. what a life he's lived ;-)
Swear this is the only time David didnt ask his team , he was determined to get one back from Bob.
Ooh they've not used Fuji! 😂
'Bob the dogs dead'
'bring it in.'
This was so brilliant! It's oje if those tikes I wish they showed a picture at the end of him doing it
David now just goes with whatever is plausible when it comes to Bob cause it's just ridiculous bobs life stories😂
He is being honest . Love him . Funny and cool . Funny bob
My favorite
Bob is a NUT!😂
Luting cement is not light cured, but time cured. I love Susie's question. He didn't really address it 😂
You can just hear Lee saying "incredible" at the end.
"the one thing you gotta check after doing your own dentistry is your own mental health" 😂😂😂
They need to start giving Bob some lies, because his life experience is known to be so insane that every bizarre scenario he lays claim to is now automatically assumed to be true.
They always do, they almost never make the edit. You have to watch the unseen extra bits from the end of the series.
The Chris Rea story is the one
Watched this episode and it’s hilarious but true love bob on Would I lie to you
This is without a doubt peak bob mortimer
a leathermakers drill, yeah
What you are really looking for is a Glass Ionomer cement or a Resin Modified Glass Ionomer.
Fuji and GC are two Japanese manufacturers of such. I happen to have some GC.
I’m just glad someone explained to David what a kitchen island is.
“There’s no exclusivity there”
When Bob says stuff like that I remember he was once a fully trained solicitor who once gained local fame in South London by representing one Barbara Lighthouse against the local housing authority under a breach of the Public Health Act due to her apartment being infested by Egyptian cockroaches (long and thin, slip right in) and successfully reaching a settlement after Ms Lighthouse dumped a jar of cockroaches over the housing officer Ronnie Omelettes, resulting in the headline “The Cockroach King” in the next day’s paper.
1:34 now it makes sense how he could lose nine teeth after eating a Kit Kat!
1:22 How can someone have such perfect teeth?
Worth paying for if youre going to be on telly
I over heard them say the magic words Fuji 9 and in my work in TV I managed to get hold of some. That is not all that was delivered to his house that night.
This is Peak Mortimer
Lee is so fast in this clip!
This is wacky + it’s Bob Mortimer… so it’s true. 😂
The fishing show is the best tv programme in years.Love it.😂
Bob and Theo Von need to do a podcast together.
Oh please!
You just never know with bob
Did anyone come back to this clip after he mentioned in a recent one that he lost that one piece of teeth after eating a frozen KitKat?
Be like Bob.
😂😂
How did no-one say anything about 0:46?
The audience said it all.
Ive seen this clips so many times and never thought about that moment like this until now, thanks lol
Dirty mind well I think.
Based on the audience reaction, and Lee and Ore looking like they're trying to stifle laughter, it looks like they might have commented on it but then edited it out. Stacey definitely realized what it looked like.
Waitttt which bit is true? That he drills his own tooth? Or he uses Fuji?
All of it
I should show this to my students who want to go to dental school. Is Dental School really worth it? :)😁
Very rare sticker that, the joker under(jacknicholsan) under strobe lights
I think it’s true…
Rob; you think it’s…. WHAT?!??!
David quick as a flash; I think it’s true!
What I want to know is how he lost the top 9 teeth! I think if it’s really due to sugar he’d loose the molars first.
HahahahahaHahahaha
A
Rich her slagging anyone about teeth with her gob full 😂
HOW MANY of us have looked up ''Fuji Nine"?????😅Orthotic Fuji bonding cement!!
