    When I was 16 I immediately started working and at 19 I bought my 370z. I’m now 21 and saving for a GTR, and while people will laugh at me and say it’s a waste of money, I’ll be laughing when I’ve worked hard and own a GTR while they sit in a Camry 🤷‍♂️ to anybody reading this, if a car makes you smile and you want it, go for it. Don’t let anyone tell you different

    Just got this a week ago (2017, black, prestige) and am currently road tripping through Italy, for the noise in 6th gear go into the secret menu (audio off, turn volume knob 40 times) and turn off the fake engine noise, will make the sound system even MORE amazing. My thoughts on three weeks of ownership of my MY17: The height of the seating position does feel strange at first but I quite like the visibility. I was surprised how quickly it changes up gear - you're usually in 6th gear from 30MPH or so! I wasn't very impressed with the sound system compared to other cars I've had. Mine has an aftermarket Y pipe fitted but I don't find it loud inside - however people tell me it's very loud outside so the Active Noise Cancellation in the cabin must work well!

    • @Perfection645
      @Perfection645 Před 3 lety

      @@G13RS I dont know, I’m pretty biased to NA and supercharged cars, but from my small experience, it didn’t feel fully connected and cohesive. It’s a very impressive car but the speed was one of the main ‘wow’ parts of the experience but other parts of the experience didn’t really do it for me.
      I didn’t like the lag, I didn’t like the transmission, the engine note (yes modded it sounds insane), the power delivery, the interior, it kind of felt like I was using a high quality appliance like a vacuum. The difference between driving it and being in the passenger wasn’t as dramatically different as I thought it should be for a sports car.
      Be in no doubt the GTR is a legend and annihilate back roads like nothing else, it’s just not my personal kind of car.

    I drove a 2013 GT-R Black Edition as a daily driver for 4 years and loved it. As you mention, while it’s not a tall car, you do sit in a higher position, and that gives you good road visibility. The cabin has a good amount of front seat room. Mechanically, it can get up and go! With all the gear clunking, the transmission can sound like it’s going to fall out of the car in the lower gears, but Nissan warns you about that in the owners manual. Also, the sound system as you said is great. My biggest issue was that the road noise from the tires became obtrusive in the cabin once the tires had between 5,000-6,000 miles on them - and plan to replace them between 8,000-10,000 miles. Forget trying to use Siri or Google voice commands at that time!!! A new set of tires made the car feel and sound (in the interior) like it was brand new. But those were small prices to pay (well, the tires weren’t at about $2000 USD for 4) to drive such an amazing car.

    Paul; hyper sport in a GTR is setting R-R-R. Do not turn of traction control; it is not faster when you do so. Had one for years; great machine; it was my daily driver.
    As you can read clearly in the manual; traction control off is ONLY to get out of a snowbank or mud. and .. there are no "valves" in the exhaust.
    Best tire for the GTR are the factory Dunlop tires; also for snow tires. On snow, on snow tires it is also great! You'll see ....

    People still don’t realise your Bose system is a Nissan made speaker with a Bose logo.
    Car sound systems come out at £2-8k from factory as upgrades. The best 2 way car amp in the world is £8k, you’d need at least 2-4 of them to do a car and that’s without speakers etc.
    If you’re an audio file you tend to just replace everything that manufacturers fit.

    There are lower seat consoles available for stock seats, I think ImportRacing is building them.

      that just shows how much the GTR isn't in his radar.
      I really have no idea why he bought one, probably he got a good deal with the financing he did, and spec of that video showing he got good views from it.

    Thats actually a great car! I had one for 5 yrs and I really enjoy it ,is super easy to get a lot of power from it,very reliable! Change it for a McLaren which is a lot better ,but for the money you have the better car!
