I owned an r35. Parts are expensive compared to "normal" cars but not supercar level expensive. At the end of the day it's still a V6 Nissan. If you can service a 350z then you'll be fine servicing a GT-R.
The Vq35/37 and the VR38 are not the same at all. The VR30 is closer in relation
The skyline GTR R34 is a dream car. People making photos and videos and smile when they see this car every ride is a experience gotta love it
4:55 In normal mode with a light foot, it genuinely feels like a Camry. It's the best of both worlds, because switching it over to Sport mode actually transforms it into the beast we all love.
I love my R35. A 2009 body with a 2015 drivetrain. Dynos 827 WHP on E85. The thing is a guided missile. Quick, and handles. Too many goodies to list. Drove it today.

@@unicornharry7995 There are a few GAP800's on the road. Built by Go Auto Performance in Nashua NH. Just one of the few different HP levels he offers. I chose the GAP800 as its stock transmission friendly, and safe for the OEM motor internals. The GAP900 is close to the edge, and his higher HP models require engine and transmission upgrades.
@@Cook2430 Mine absolutely handles better. A friend has a Hellcat and was impressed at how quick my GT-R was. On curvie back country roads I'll take my GT-R any day over a Hellcat. Oh, and the GT-R stops a lot faster.

I own a 2016 Black Edition. The 15-16 models are definitely the ideal models to get. Owned it for 2+ years and have no plans of ever getting rid of it. Hope you enjoy it!

One day , my dream car
Bought 09. Dated 08. First 3k gtrs that came to the US! Oeigial owner gave me the certificate. Etc. pretty cool. I got it for 47k. Pre covid prices as he had to sell it fast. 63k miles at thst time. Did shep trans right away. 😅 Did full boltons. Wheels. Suspension. No e85 and of couse swapped inlets from dba. Now car has 83k. Plenty if power and super fun to drive and didnt spent fortune ! I dont see myself spend 80k plus on a car. I never cared about GTRs that much untill i drove one 😅 had 3 evos in the past and many other cars. 911 turbo 996 was fun to drive but need space for grociers and kids lol😅 and gtr feels way more planted 😊

I think that would be a very challenging thing from an engineering perspective seeing as the transmission in the R35 is at the rear of the car?!
The GTR is kind of similar to the corvettes. They have similar mechanical problems. Corvette, have a similar issue like that. And it's mostly with the torque converter. That the bushings will go out. And you will hear a loud noise. And yes, early C7 corvettes have problems with the transmission. Similar with the Corvette that the headlights will Fog up
I have a 2012 Nissan GTR and every time I drive it I smile!!
I have a 2013 GTR Black Edition with 18.5K miles, so far no issues with the headlights, or transmission, or basically anything haha. It's been dead reliable since I've had it.
I know it's meant to go vroom vroom, but you should baby that car. Haha.

I still have my 09 sitting at 700 crank hp and I’ve had all three of those mechanical issue , but Ivey tune takes care of my GTR all day .

Randomly came across this video and then saw my car and myself in it have the gearbox dropped. Geabox had been upgraded, turned out to be an incorrect o-ring on the valve body causing issuea with 4th gear.
To see this car, even 5 years from now….

Premium interior package for me. The Nismo is not worth it almost double the price for +35hp & 14lbs ft of torque and cosmetic... That difference in price I can put it in the car and have a +2K hp car easy...

Most of these gtr are unaffordable. U can buy the older ones, than u have to think of maintenence cost. The r35 was a "super car" killer for like couple of yrs. But cause Nissan is poor, the grr quickly fell off. And after that it was pretty much the same gtr. Other than the crazy stupid price for the nismo. Basically the same car has the regular one.
Porches at least improved on their 6cyn engine.
Now boosted porches has been winning vs gtrs.
Gtr had their couple of moments.
R35 GTR's hold on to their value well and always in demand. For what you pay for an almost 15 year old model you could get a BMW M340i x-drive with bolt ons to achieve very similar performance in a modern platform.
EV dont count its not internal combustion engine. EV is a just a computer on wheels electric that is.
