- The Nintendo Arcade was a small section of Nintendo's website which ran briefly for a couple years back in the mid-2000s. This included several web games which Nintendo created to promote their new releases. In this video I'll tell you all about the Nintendo Arcade and show you what some of the games were like.

These games have since been archived on a piece of software called Flashpoint Player. 👍 If you want to play any of these games today I would very much recommend Flashpoint instead of a hacked web browser - be safe out there. I'll see ya guys soon with more awesome videos! Take care!!!
If you knew about Flashpoint then why did you go through archives and hacked web browsers just to play these?
@@ethanhobbes3476 Nintendo's website was completely flash-only. You can not load it without a flash enabled web browser. Had no idea which games were on the site and further I wanted to show you guys what the ones I could find looked like in their full glory on Nintendo's ancient site. Hope you enjoyed it!
@@itsgruz Huh. I thought Nintendo's website was up on Flashpoint. Woops.
I was about to say. With the news that they’re closing down the e shop Nintendo would be like “why are we still hosting these old files?”
Come to think of it them closing the e shop makes even less since with this realization!
How many of these are compatible with Ruffle?
Super interesting! Despite living through that era, I was unaware Nintendo had flash games on their website. Such a great concept. I remember in late 2001, Midway had a bunch of their classic arcade games on their site and I would play them during class. It's sort of how I was introduced to stuff like Robotron. Outside of the Internet Archive, I wonder if any mainstream companies still have interactive games on their sites.
They do still exist tho mostly educational types from what I've seen. My kids play stuff like PBS kids and Nickelodeon in the browser.
This is some gaming ARCHAEOLOGY right here! Excellent work finding these Gruz, and getting them to work.
Now this is dedication. This must have taken you hours of work
After a really bad mental health day, a new gruz video is exactly what I needed.
Fantastic, never heard of this site before, thanks Gruz.
My pleasure!
Wow man! I always look forward to your SMB Game Genie code videos, but what an incredible surprise this was! I can certainly appreciate the amount of sleuthing and work that went into making it, and for that, I am so grateful! Keep up the great work. You’ve been my favorite CZcams channel since your early days!
Glad you enjoyed! Been experimenting with different types of content. Has been a lot of fun putting these together!
Thanks for this man. I miss the good old days of flash. I feel fortunate that I got to watch the internet transform and grow as I did though.
Can we get this era back please
I know some of these games, love them all, awesome video :)
No
Just wanted to let you know that the algorithm fed me one of your videos yesterday or the day before and I've been watching them ever since. I'm really enjoying them. :)
Nice work digging up all this stuff!!
Always look forward to you videos. Thanks Dude
Glad you like them! 😁
You make the best videos. Thanks for bringing these games back for us!
It truly had been awhile since I've last played these kind of games.
Love this style of content. Such a great video! Keep it up my friend
Thanks gruz, this was awesome!
you always come up with the most clever vid ideas, gruz
fantastic video man, i love stuff like this
Oh man....The hours spent playing flash games back in the day..
Bruh
Great video man!!
I LITERALLY just found so many of these games and played the two days ago. Weird to see a video on them right after I found them.
You make awesome videos man!!!!
Wow! I've never seen these before, I wouldve loved this as a kid
8:46 That "How far can YOU make DK hurl?" description makes it sound like the goal is to get DK to projectile vomit as far as he can. That's what happens when you down a 2-liter of cola with a belly full of bananas...
Fun fact: If you still play Neopets (...like me), using a Flash-supporting browser like Pale Moon is near-essential if you want to use the site properly at all. Because in those 3 years of advance warning about Flash's death, JS did the bare minimum in making sure the site was ready for that to happen. Like, even their cashcow mechanic of customization still doesn't work 100% correctly without Flash. Like...what WERE they doing during those 3 years?! That said...Pet Slots being introduced DOES make it feel like a brand new game for the first time in years regardless.
It is incredible some old Flash sites are still maintained. Did you know new content was put on Homestarrunner in 2021 including a new Stinko Man Stage ?
If you think about it, "That Bicep Pump" game is Flappy Bird in reverse.
It would be cool if Nintendo built a mobile game engine and include all these nostalgic games (at least the good ones)
No
Bowser and Toad pretend to be enemies but in reality Bowser loves to come visit toad in his newly renovated suburban home to play air hockey in his basement. Good to know.
Gruzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Your enthusiasm and love for what you do is infectious.
Keep infecting us.
Oooooo, thank you for this! I think it's time to go hunting for some old Flash games now. Does Flashpoint work on anything, or is it something that comes preloaded with everything that will work on it?
All the games Flashpoint supports comes with it. You can download just the ones you want from inside the client or install the entire massive library of games (more than 1TB lol)
@@itsgruz In that case, I might have to get creative. Thanks for the reply!
Have you tried out the Arcade/Mame version of Super Mario? Or made a video of such ? There was the original 4(1,2,Lost levels,3) on Playchoice 10 and World and Yoshis Island on the Super System. Would be cool to see you review those ports if u haven't already. The graphics on those are really crisp.
Personally I enjoy Dr. Mario Vicodin toss better than vitamin toss.
I always enjoyed the wario land 4 advance flash site and mini games
If i was nintendo, they are better off to rerelease those games as a bundle before their games get’s lost for once and for all.
That was interesting
Btw, you can still play flash on internet explorer!
You could've used flash projector to play the games locally on your computer, no need for a hacked browser. or at worst you could've used ruffle a flash emulator that's still in development but considering the simplicity and age of the games it probably could run them
In Super mario Bros You need to try game genie codes IKAIKA and SUEISA together and try jumping on the mushroom. I'm curious if that would kill the mushroom and the flower power. IKAIKA makes the mushroom hurt you and SUEISA makes enemies give you a power up
These are like old school Neopets caliber flash games
I like this guy
Cool!
New super mario bros wii website works
Of course Nintendo would never do this today, that would mean we'd get something for free. 😒 anyway, this was really awesome! Were these the only games that you were able to find?
Could you play them on standalone flash player?
My name is gaming ninja I'm your biggest fan!
Do you have super paper mario memory match
gruz WE NOT IN YEAR 2THOUSANDS WE IN YEARS OF 20HUNDREDS
Use a windows 7 VM tp play or use any flash content, win 7 did not had the kill switch :)
tetris ds looks like fun
Nah
Ever wanted to do a live stream? 🙂
I used to do an occasional stream years and years ago. Might try it out again sometime! 👍
@@itsgruz Sweet! Can't wait!
Man, I played a ton of these back in the day. I recall that there was a great website for Wario Land 4 when that came out.
On a different note, did you ever play the flash games on the Wonka candy site? There were a ton on there that I have fond memories of, but they're also kind of lost to history.
Never played any Wonka games but that sounds awesome haha. I did a quick search on flashpoint and a ton of Wonka games are on there.
I used to make a lot of money for companies to make these awful games.
Because that's your pfp
You sound like avgn
Bruh i am a mario ytuber/kidtuber

@@ilikeminecraft1232 okay
hey silly goofball you can just run flash you don't need to do it in a browser you did abunch of work for no reason
Nintendo's entire website required flash - it would kick you off and tell you to download it. Sure you can run the files in a player, but I couldn't even get to the files without going thru Nintendo's site first...
