Seems like the best of both worlds. A long range, long flight time gps drone with gps rescue if needed and, with the change of a battery, becomes a freestyle hotrod. Brilliant!

This style has been around forever in the form of 7 inch long range drone. Dave Clendon or Dave c has been working on his project micro long range and developed this 4 inch iteration. FLYWOO produced it. All the other companies are now providing competition.

I think LR will be the new thing. With the FAA wanting to change rules I think many are saying screw the changes coming and lets go stealthier and farther. The farther you can go, the harder you are to find :)

@@gmivisualsjason3729 If they make remote ID required to be installed by the manufacturer it will kill the hobby. They were saying the device would be about $1200 per unit. I will never install it on my quads, but I live in the middle of a 674 square mile National Forest and I do fly safe and think FPV is more safe than Line Of Site. I was a Heli Pilot and a Pilots view is the safest view if you keep an eye on your surroundings. The FAA needs to wake up and protect our hobby. FPV MATTERS!

Excellent Video ZOHD LionPack 3000 mah for my geprc crocodile baby ....... I used to fly with 4s Lipo.... Do I have to make any change on my setup on (Betaflight or in the DJI fpv goggles) to get the Lion battery voltage reading ? I flue 1 time with the Lion pack and I get the low battery warning 5 minutes after take off.

I'm a line of eyeball flyer. I can trust myself and drone when I can see it. Distance for me out of sight is not for me. Looks okay, I don't mind changing batteries during a flight break. I like the GPS rescue feature, price is good.
Hi Captain any tips for getting the leather GEPRC battery straps thru the top plate battery holes? My straps that came with Baby Croc seem too wide for the slots. Thank you for your excellent videos.

FRSKY XM+ should get you just under a mile in range using out of the box gear.
Great vid as always. I only have an SG906 Pro drone , so I am new to the racing/freestlye drone business. I see this is available with various receivers , but if I had to for example get the R9mm receiver version , what does the transmitter need to have , would for example the TARANIS X9 Lite be compatible ? What is this R9MM thingy ? It seems to be some sort of seperate module on transmitters.
You will need to gain a good level of knowledge if you want to get into the FPV hobby. Currently from your question it sounds you are at level 10 of 100. So if Im not bothered with long range , I need to get a standrd FRKSKY receiver version ( XM ) so that I dont need to by the extra module on the transmitter.
@@joecachia2 That is correct. 99% of people who fly FPV, will fly not for range but for the joy of flying through and under objects at all speeds. You don't need range for that.

It only works as long as you put a Crossfire Nano receiver in the drone.

Came to this video because I just got a GEPRC Crocodile Baby on clearance and was looking up instructions. But I have a different question now: at 4:40 I saw you putting on your DJI Goggles over your glasses! Does that work well? I have glasses myself and none of the FPV goggles I've tried ever worked well with them.
Yes. The googles are large and designed for people with glasses that do not have large frames.

NIce video, Would you say this exact quad flies better with 3S 18650 instead of 4S 18650?
Background: I am just trying to build the lightest O3 quad that easily flies for over 15 minutes for exploring on trips. Saw all the 4" LR Models but all seem to recommend 4S instead of 3S. (3S is minimum to have enough voltage for O3..). I though the extra 50g make it more sluggish. (I know +1 18650 is 15% more weight for 33% more voltage & energy, but then you could argue, get a 7" lol)
I honestly can't say for the simple reason that a large number of quads are tuned to expect a certain voltage.
Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this, but will you be reviewing the Hubsan Zino 2+ soon? I hear the camera is really good and can be used for night videoing.
It is very similar to the ZINO PRO and ZINO 2. I may review it in the future but I don't expect it to be different than the other two ZINOs.

I will go look again...[update] checked site, checked my xls frm Gep it does not say t just says it comes in 3 versions and on my xls it does give an actual category to differentiate cams but not on the Caddx Vista HD’s the category for cam is not there.

Quite a coincidence. I’m doing something similar but in a very cheap and moderately cheerful way. I’m using my prehistoric IRC Vortex 285, with IRC EzUHF, and a 4000mAh 3s Multistar battery which is only 40g heavier than my usual 4S 1400mAh packs. Flight times are about 20mins but range is, well let’s just say a bloody long way.
I don’t have GPS rescue but as I’ve upgraded the flight controller I think this will be doable. My video is analog but so is my ageing eyesight. 😉

Can the rekon 6 do the same by swapping the batt pack so you got both LR and freestyle?
You can freestyle this drone or the rekon 6. You can put Li-ion and Li-po batteries on both.
Id love to know how long the li Iron battery lasts for. Its pretty much been abused even with regular flying.

Yes, if that is what you want to see. In BETAFLIGHT there are a large number of displays you can select to show up in your goggles.

If you know nothing about the FPV HOBBY, then you are in for a world of hurt. Perhaps you'd want to instead get yourself the DJI MAVIC MINI or DJI MAVI MINI 2. As far as I know not all selected parameters from OSD beta flight are displayed on the DJI googles
It all depends on what is available to be displayed. So if you pick something like Telemetry and your drone does not provide that info through the goggles, you won't see it. So far, the options I have selected for my use all seem to show up in the DJI goggles.
Would you walk through how you connected the Baby Croc to Betaflight? Mine's arrived and I cannot get it to connect. I plug it in and COM4 appears but Betaflight tries to connect and nothing happens. I'm trying to flash the firmware now to GEPRCF411 but it fails when it tries to "reboot the device to bootloader". Did you have to do any of this when yours arrived? Or did it just connect to Betaflight without any issues?
You need to do four things. First watch EPISODE #9 of my video series CAPTAIN DRONE FPV FOR BEGINNERS (I assume you have an ANALOG version of the drone). Second you need to try a different cable... if you are a newbie your probably using some cheap cable that is not a data cable. Third you need to make sure you are using the correct port on the drone that you are plugging your cable into (some drones have two USB ports). Fourth, you need to just do a simple search on CZcams to have someone tell you the simple steps of how to get BETAFLIGHT com ports to work (i.e., you need to install drivers if your computer can't figure it out).
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 It was #3! I had to take it to a hobby store and have a guy look at it who knew what to look for. Even then we had to search for five minutes or so before we spotted it. It was hidden by the ESC wires. After a bunch more "issues", I was finally able to get it flying! Thanks for your help!
The Crocodile comes with an LHCP Antenna, ist it possible to change to an RHCP one? Or will it not compatible with the Drone?
If you change antenna on a drone, then you must use compatible on your googles.... but that mostly applies to the ANALOG world and not so much the DIGITAL world.

You must select the receiver to match the radio you are using. I was using a DJI FPV RADIO so my receiver is called PNP (i.e., Plug and Play or No Receiver)

Just play a simulator online. The less you pay for drones, the more of a TOY GRADE they are.
Ordered the Analog on the Oct 8th and Received on the 26th.. I plan on replacing the camera with a spare Caddx Tarsier. Did not order with it originally because I wanted to see if I could get in a reasonable time unlike the backordered Flywoo Explorer LR. Ordered the 3000 Li ion battery and this drone flies very smooth. Only issue I had was GPS was not syncing correctly even with 18 Sats. I kept getting "No GPS Rescue" after getting about 50 yards from start point. Had to keep flying back and trying to re-arm. GPS finally worked but still distance was off. Maybe a bad GPS unit? As for the flight time it was about 17 -20 minutes and that was with easy flying. Wish I ordered more than one battery from GEPRC will take a few weeks to get more from GEPRC (China). Cannot find a US based company selling them. If you know of any let me know please.
I have never had a bad GPS RESCUE unit on a drone yet. Just be sure to let it acquire the sats in an unobstructed area. For me it takes under a min for the sats to be acquired, but then again I am in an open area in the northern hemisphere and sats seem to always come quickly on any drone I use. For batteries, I like the high "C" rating ones and order direct from AMAZON. I'm surprised you only received 20 mins with the 3000 mAh 18650 battery. Plenty of people are getting much longer, but I guess you have to fly very tame in a straight line (no up/down) with no wind for the max performance, and not carry any additional camera.
Maybe because of the soft serial port.

It is setup out of the box. Now if you are asking how did I assign it to a switch on my radio, then that is just basic BETAFLIGHT stuff (under the MODES tab).

DutchRC Adventures had less luck with the GPS. Any ideas on what the cause of his GEPRC Crocodile Baby-GPS failing?

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 DutchRC Adventures tested it stock with only one exception: allowing the quadcopter to fly with, but also without GPS. That is not the same as disabling the GPS or am I mistaken?
