- Well what an adventure for Day 1 of the 2024 Hot Rod Power Tour! We start off our journey in central Kentucky with about a 2 hour drive to the day 1 venue of Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green Kentucky. Of course along the way as you do on Power Tour there were some unplanned adventures along the way!
This year it looks like the weather is going to treat us nicely, unlike previous years Hot Rod Power Tour 2024 is starting off with a gorgeous low 80s day! As I do every year I try to shoot a lot and share a lot so you folks can fully experience what it's like for me on Tour. This year I'm driving my dad's all original 1991 GMC Syclone, and so far it's doing just great!
Plans are at this point to continue doing daily videos of HRPT 2024 just like I do every year, of course, that depends on timing and internet connections! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
When I'm in a long line like that, I like to slow down and give a good distance between me and the car in front of me, then speed up, close that big gap. That way everyone behind you thinks "oh wow!! It got so much faster all of the sudden" lol. Plus you also give people behind you the ability to get some air flow through their rad to cool their cars off.
Very cool and humane thing you did with the turtle.
Austin ridind with you is the next best thing to being there. Thank you sir, to the negative well their just jealous!!!! Looking for the next one be safe
Much love to you and your Dad, Austin. I will be watching progress!
The Hat Looks fantastic!🇫🇷
Some awesome cars there for sure. Im sure the 91' is going to do just fine, as it really seems to be a solid truck for ya! Looking forward to seeing the days coming up!
Austin that is pretty cool to see . 64 read El Camino blower through the hood . Pulling another friend
I always wanted to build me a hot rod hearse and I'd call it "stiff competition" or "Dead heat".
Love your power tour videos
Thanks for bringing the show to us every year I enjoy all the content and Cheers buddy 🍻 Retirement 2027 at 55 and will hopefully join more events then … Was at Atlanta meltdown a couple 2-3 years ago in my Nova…
Golf Cart Power Tour. Could be a thing!
The Solstice was designed to accept the LS motor by design. There are quite a few of these converted to v8 by owners/shops because that was the secret very few know about. True story.
Oh, the wife and I walking up while you were talking to Jay at about 52:30
Stopping for a turtle??,!!! Seriously??? Yes sir!!! That makes you that guy. Always willing to help anyone and anything. That makes you That guy. Thank you. I am not a tree hugger, but I help where I can. I am hoping to make next year once my swap is running!!!!!
I will keep you and your family in my prayers God bless
Still hanging with you , I always have a problem with side yard scanning , especially when I spot a Mopar.

See you on Thursday and Friday Austin! Hope to finally meet you even though your shop is 30 minutes from me
Use that AC brother. Enjoy it. If it was just me and my best friend, we would have got my 80 Z28 all ready for power tour. But since its me and my wife and our 5 1/2 year old son, I'm taking my 13 Cruze LTZ RS with ice cold ac. Kinda strange the gates don't open til noon this week. We'll be at national trails as early as we're allowed so we can get our credentials and goody bag, and then hang out for an hour or two and head to indy. I was shocked that hotels weren't sold out and were still cheap in indy.
Two thumbs up Austin l - automotive Ohio
Austin a very interesting start to going to the Power Tour. Lake Cumberland is alway nice. Glad you got some R&R on the way. Thanks for sharing!
💯👊👍💕
Austin, thank you and the others for helping push my truck up the hill. I tried to find you at Nashville today to thank you in person but I didn’t see you while we were walking around. Hope to catch up with you at one of the remaining stops.
Ya know yer in the country when ya see a DG! You can navigate using those stores. I frequently travel the back roads of South Carolina and out of nowhere a DG will appear.
I see you got my buddies Hawaiian Hillbilly Corvette & my orange Lotus Elise on video at the 1:31:05 mark 😃
How about the Holden Monaro with Chevy badging! I love to see all of them even the obscure!
Have fun cat daddy 👍
You could call these episode TWA or Traveling With Austin!
I'd have made a left turn into one of those driveways, then turned around to come back out near the front of the line to make a right turn. Someone would have let you out. That way you can "legitimately" cut in line lol.
DAMNIT!!!! I missed you there and I couldn’t find you today in Nashville either.
My Blue Chrysler Newport looked awesome on there bud
Looks like my hearse made a brief appearance by chance... lol
You Caught My Twin 1974 Blue&Orange Novas @27:40 On This Video. Best Photographer Ever ! Hope To Meet Some Day. Lovin' Your Content&Channel.
Thanks. @MaconThingsHappen
Cool beans! I really enjoy your posts. My question is, why do you take a chance on old tires? It is not just about your safety but that of others that may be involved in an accident you caused with old tires. Just a comment. When I bought my current Corvair it had 12 year old tires which was the first thing I replaced. Oh, at one time years ago I was really wanting a Syclone and actively looked for one but did not score.
I never knew a Nascar car could be licensed and driven on the road
= I have had a CONTINUOUS "Anti-Lock" Brake warning light on my 1995 Chebby 3/4 ton truck DASH
ever since it's HYDRAULIC Computer malfunctioned & demanded that I bash through my own 16' Farm Gate !!!
a 60 amp fuse PULL later & no Anti-Lock BRAKES & a beautiful orange warning light 🙂 to keep me companyy !

well you made the highway milage for the truck at 17mpg. If you split at 15.5mpg while doing the trek that better than my truck 11 mpg highway.
Guys like big Hooters......trucks.....
OMFG my 6th or 7th grade history teacher still has his El Camino exactly like that one that I believe he bought new.. He was a A7 or F8 pilot in the Navy in Vietnam and got shot down. Mr Barry Rounds. I can not believe how cheap the prices are out there.. it really seems like you have to leave California to get a decent deal on a car these days.. though then you have to pay to fly there and all the gas to drive/trailer it home.. or fly back and have Pilot bring it home.
Hey Austin if you see this and you see a pretty 68-70 Cutlass with the original engine in it could you point it out? I've wanted one since I got a model of one at 13.. I'm 38 now... still no Cutlass.
Easy to tell why that guy's Mustang is overheating, he's got a 351W water pump on a 351C.. those holes in the cast in extention should be used by the water pump not left uncovered.
I've watched your pt escapades for past few years and just thought about this. Suprised, seeming to be a car gal, your better half doesn't come along on tour with you. Guessing she puts up with your antics enough daily she doesn't need to make a road show out of it?
I'm not having a good day. Flat broke, no job, bills are piling up, about to be homeless with my wife, 3 kids and 2 dogs. Been applying for jobs for a year and all savings are used up. So NOPE, not a good day and one serious stressful year. I need a job/money to take care of my family.
I've talked to 2 people at power tour and they are disgusted at all the youtubers acting like they traveled around the world in their pos
Um are you being sarcastic or are you really as big of an asshole as you sound
