- Off-road Outback Expedition, Kennedy Range to Mt Augustus (part 3/3)
Welcome to a mini series overlanding the West Australian Outback. This is the final instalment of the mini series and we take on many kilometers in bad weather on our way to Mt Augustus which we climb on foot.
After our hike we deal with road closures and make our way to our final camp of the trip...

I appreciate your focus on removing garbage and leaving things like you found them. Pointing these things out is a great way to help create more environmental stewards.
Josh Briggs that definitely caught my eye as well.
This is so important when you are out in the nature
Josh Briggs couldn’t agree more. At a loss to understand why anyone would take the time to travel far enough to experience a natural environment and tarnish it before they leave. Leave it better than you found it!
Quote "Take the quick way down I have a parachute" .... Love it
Need to put all three videos together so we all can watch it like a movie! :) Thanks Ronny! Great work putting all this together and sharing it with the world especially us Yota drivers.
Just watched parts 1,2 and 3 absolutely brilliant a big thumbs UP
Ronny your vids are amazing I'm always excited for your video alerts ..... Aussie govt should cut you a check for promoting your beautiful country
Awesome videos, all three of them. Really liked the drone work... Outstanding! I'm in the USA where Jeeps rule and was so excited to see a 4 door JK in the caravan only to be disappointed in how little camera time it got. No walk about on the JK no nothing! I see all your 79's built to the hilt plowing along and what looked like a stock JK bringing up the rear. A true testament on just how great the Jeep truly is. The drag position is the rig the makes sure all the others make it through. I guess it did its job...
We love our snow peak gear. Top notch equipment.
Ronnie. Really enjoyed this series. This area has been on my bucket list for ages and you have re-ignited the passion to make a serious effort to experience it. Your videography is improving out of sight. Well done mate.
The best yet, Ronny. Well done.
Really enjoyed these 3 videos you did.
I would like to see more videos on your bush cooking with the webber. We also have a baby Webber and have just started camping, 4wd and going bush thanks to your videos.
Thanks +Glynn Baker I will cover the Webber Q a bit more in future videos perhaps even a segment just on it
+Ronny Dahl (4 Wheeling in W.A.) Hey ronny where can i buy one of your windshield stickers? nice video :)
The timelapses are absolutely incredible...
Great filming Ronny pleasure to watch
These are great mate. Full respect to the jeep! Love the old boys too (cause i am one)...
Very well done mate. Loved them all 3.
Brilliant photography Ronny
Entertainment at it's best.
I want to go with you....
Everything you do looks like such much fun.....
Respect, every time.....
Your vids are just getting better and better Ronny and loved the little bloopers at the end keep it up 👍
great series, as expected. Well done ronny
Nice series Ronny, enjoyed watching.
All the best, from, Portugal.
cool as allways. just enjoying , specially with great cars angles and roads and views. you wish you would live there and do such things.
This is some of the best overland footage on CZcams. I hope this channel blows up. All the way from American here.
It’s unbelievable that that stove and so in that police station has been there like 4 times my entire life, not moved a millimeter lol. Also, i’ve been driving highway #1 a few times up and down, i always thought it’s just farmers land. But there are so much beautiful places to see there.
Beautiful video as always
Awesome vids mate. Love them, all the way from Namibia, Africa.
thanks again Ronny, another great video. be safe out there in the bush. greetings from North America
Your videos are getting better .i love your drone filming
Getting great inspiration to do my own trips, my bucket list is going to overflow. Thanks Ronny 👍
Hi Ronny you have buggered it again now I have to work out a trip into the Kennedy Range, and thanks for pushing keep the bush clean and stay of closed tracks, only by working with the the Stations can we keep the tracks open for our Grand Kids.
Rewatching this vid years later and it's still amazing! Love your stuff Ronny never stop!! Btw I want that headlamp haha cheers from Canada!!
Awesome series Ronny! Spectacular drone footage . Just love this area of the Kennedy range. Thanks mate
Great series.
I was quite unaware of the landscape that you covered. It is stunning. Really appreciate the beauty that you have shown.
The photography is superb btw. The drone shots in particular add new dimensions to the overall visual delight. They show the country in the way that is seen in Aboriginal paintings.
Thanks!! :-)
Fantastic video. Hope to hit some of the trails down under soon.
The wife and I got a swayer mini filter works awesome! Those red clay roads are no joke when wet! They gave me a workout in the Kaibab National Forest, just outside the south rim of the Grand Canyon
Great vid again man - good to see my repair worked. Shouldn't have to use it on the new swag, hopefully!
Who was the clever bastard that brought a chainey along?
Another great video 👍🏿
a great mini series trip Ronny. caint wait for next sunday.
another top watch matey.
Another fantastic trip series, Ronny. They keep getting better & better. I'm so glad I support your efforts thru Patreon. Keep up the great work!
+Grant Schumacher thanks mate appreciate the feedback and the support. It's making these videos and future videos possible.
You have great contents every video

Excellent 3 videos.. great production values, well filmed and well narrated. Thanks!
Love your videos Ronny living the dream good on you.
0.07 % dislike I believe, says it all. Thank you Ronnie and crew. I'm planing a similar trip for this christmas holiday.Yours Stuart
Excellent addition with the hiking footage mate, well done.
Loving your videos mate, Gday from Perth
Great Video ronny...
Wow 2 thumbs down already. Some ppl really are angry how there own life panned out and get jealous hahaha.
Would LOVE to see more offroad challenges every vid. Moooore offroad chat and content please! Love ur work boys :)
The presentation, narration and production quality in these video's is first class. Deserves way more subscribers. Come on people like and sub!!
loved the 3 videos. love watching your adventures. keep up the good work champ 👌
First time watching your show. Just watched all 3 of the series. thumbs up, subscribed!
thanks Ronny for the rest of the trip. Mt Augustus is the highest point for Summits On The Air in that region. SOTA is an activity for Radio Amateurs who climb summits like that one and try to make 4 contacts while they are there to call it an activation. No one has activated Mt Augustus yet for SOTA . Maybe one day a VK6 will be able to do that summit, or you might consider getting your Amateur Radio Licence and including SOTA in your trips around its very addictive i must warn.
Cheers from Ian VK5CZ ..
CQ SOTA, CQ SOTA....
Great videos Ronny. Keep up the great work
Excellent video/series as usual, the drone footage in particular is spectacular.
Excellent job once again mate!!!
Your vids are well made ronny and its nice to see a bit ov true oz
once again Ronny and crew, great vid
Awesome trip man! Can you do a review of the camera and gear you use to do your nightlapses of your campsites! They're really epic! And I love the clarity and lowlight capability of the camera you use! Keep making more awesome content! 👍🏻👍🏻
great job on the video, Great footage!!
really enjoyed this 3 part series man keep it up!
Love the 3 part series, so cool! As if your not busy enough, you should create another channel on bush food and recipes.
+Johnny D funny you should mention that as I filmed my first one a few weeks ago. But they are a bit different to the normal ones you see on TV and CZcams. Best way to put it I guess is they will be Ronny style... strange, different but hopefully useful and cool....
loved it , very well done :-)
Nice video mate.
Awesome adventure series. 5 thumbs down???? Can not see why. Keep up the great work.
Ahh Ronny...
you are now in my favorite part of the world...
close to my heart since 1999 when my buddy managed Pingandy station "up the track"
Your footage at times is soul stirring?
I laughed a little to hard at the "Hawaiian" part hahah! Great series enjoyed all three eps keep up the good work!
Love your rigs. Wish we could get them in North America.
Dab Fan me too
Yeah its impressive what they can do with them. Those diesels are a thing of envy
im from australia i always wonder why its taking US so long to make a lot of diesels
Ben Weber
NOx regulations in the US are quite strict - so all of North America doesn't get trucks like these. We have diesels but they're all in heavy duty trucks.
You can get in these rigs, but they must be 25 yrs old. And have there title.
Been driving Rhd in Canada for eight years now.
we only have to wait 15years before we can get our hands on them!
Thumbs up Lads - should plan and attended Rhino Charge - Kenya
Another awesome adventure. It's great to see you blokes enjoying our beautiful country and using your vehicles for what they're designed for. What happened with the Jeep? It didn't break down or have you just had enough of videoing the problems.
Fantastic stuff! Hope you do one of kirijini, tom price, wittenoom. I miss "home" :)
possibly this year
You should do a bush cooking miniseries
Thanks Ronny, I really do enjoy your videos. When you coming to visit us in South Africa?
Won't be limited on fuel with your new tanks!
The police station was built in 1988? Wow those police were tough on those sheep stealers.....
Well it's only October here in Alberta Canada and snowing maybe it's a good time to move somewhere a little warmer
coreylynch31 it's October every where on earth haha but it's just starting to heat up in Australia, perfect time to head down under.
Great video - we just did Tom Price - Mt Augustus - Mt Gould - Wooleen - Perth last week in much dryer conditions. Inspired to go back. What month was this video taken? What drove me nuts in many places including Mt Gould lockup is how people crap next to the tourist attraction and throw toilet paper on the ground. Toilet paper everywhere you stop. How can we edumakate the drongos to do the right thing?
Great vid as always. Giving me lots of ideas of areas to explore out great state. Keep up the great job.
Do u have a long range tank fitted ?
Great series Ronny, as always! Any way you can do a review on the Dslr panning machine/robot you use for doing your time lapse shots? Or just let me know what's the make and I'll look it up myself. Thanks!
Top video once again Ronny Do you have a video on the filming equipment you use?
Are you driving and flying the drone at the same time? Impressive.
Another great video Ronny.
I'd like to see what you think about the Baby Weber Q now you've had it a while.
Recipes that work, those that don't.
Eg: 6 Pizzas at 20min a Pizza, so was that 2 hours of the Weber Q being on??
Gas consumption for 6 Pizzas?
I have bought a Baby Weber Q purely based on your videos, and yesterday 2 friends purchased a Baby Weber Q based on my suggestion and reference to your Videos.
Do you store it in a lockable plastic container while in transit?
Any weak points? LPG Connection near Valve?
Ignition wires that float in the breeze?
Do you think it should come with side tables as standard? (US model does)
Do you line the base with alfoil to make cleaning easier?
I think like most of us, the idea of perfect roast pork while camping is heaven!
Any tips for the Roast Pork?
I can really see the benefit in a Video on Bush Cooking with the Baby Webber Q, as told by you, not some Weber Rep!...
But i really feel Weber should repay you in some way for the free promotion, because they will benefit more out of this than you.
It will be better than normal Weber Self Promotional Hype, Aussies listen to other Aussies, not the glossy brochures and in-store dribble.
Cheers
Ronny, thanks for these videos mate, great work again and I enjoyed watching them a lot. One question, is none of you guys a geocacher? There seems to be a geocache @ the Mount Gould Police Station and I'm sure you come by many more awesome caches not too many people get to log. Regarding the Jeep question that has been asked below I agree that everyone should have their own taste (I personally don't mind Jeeps at all but neither do I mind Cruisers) but I must admit that I did wonder before why Brian didn't buy the diesel version?
Hi Ronny I love your videos! I was just wondering how exactly you achieve the timelapse- pan effect like at the end of this video? Thanks!
Great channel! Have you reviewed the Weber Q?
Really nice!
I've got a request that if you can you should do a video on a Range Rover sometime!
+Landy Enthusiast been looking for one but still no real luck. Will keep on looking
ronny, amazing videos. always look forward to another new one. thank you.
two questions:
Why does your Dad drive a jeep rather than a cruiser?
Would you consider doing a "mods" video on a 62 or 60 series?
thanks again. Your videos are the best!
+Michael Yapp thanks mate. As for your questions some people are Jeep fanatics and others are Toyota people. That's all I can put that down to.
And yes I would love to feature a nice 60 series I actually just saw 3 awesome 60's on the weekend and I gave two of them my card so hopefully they get back to me.
Hey Ronny, what do you use to record? Thanks!
@ronnydahl when you were entering the water crossing who was on the left side standing in the trees? The clothing was way to nice to be sasquach. great series thanks.
+SeriouslySon that must have been some on lookers. There was a vehicle that came down while we crossed
Hey Ronny, like the way you have been shifting a little your editing style. Although the music you choose carefully makes a pleasure to watch. Why did you remove your canopy the truck looked a little more neat. And last but not least are there any plans of putting on a rooftop tent?
+Luap terppat I removed the canopy to fund camera gear and take a bit of weight off the rear end as I have added fuel tanks. There will be another canopy in future but it will be as lightweight as possible.
GREAT video , but .. no link about fire stove
Have to say the Cruiser looks better without the big metal canopy on the back. I'm presuming u did it because of weight issues & fuel consumption.
Great video, Ronny! I'm just wondering what were the rest of the guys doing down at the camp site whilst you're trailing on Mt Augustus?
+M.Fachri drinking coffees and having a good old chat. Oh and they went to the pub as well.... and yes they actually have a pub at the caravan park.
Hey Ronny is Wayne's 79 single cab going to be reviewed in a modified episode
great vids as usual. Was the D40 Pretty close to stock? it looks like it. it did pretty well if stock
2 inch lift, dual batts, bigger tyres, bar work and snorkel
Awesome footage allround, what drone are you using for the ariel footage, nice work.
+Paul Rowley phantom 3 pro
Great northern or XXXX gold
Hey Ron. Love your work. Just need to fix the title image
+Phillip Gauke thanks mate and good spotting should be fixed now.
Great video as always mate! Song name at 16:42 please..
I enjoy your videos very much. I saw one of your partners hiking in short pants which got me to wondering, are there poisonous snakes in Australia?
+texasmoldmaker thanks mate, there are plenty of venomous snakes in Australia (think we have 8 of the top 10) long pants is recommended
