- The Unplanned Overland Expedition, as the title says things went pear shaped and we were left at a cancelled event in the middle of the Western Australian Outback. But we made something good out of nothing...

I follow from the states. Your camera work really show cases the beauty of your countryside. Keep up the good work.
The whole time watching this I was thinking how amazing the camera work was and how well they captured the lighting.

The videography is truly amazing
This is 1000% better then "Expitetion Overland". After there last season was filled with a buck of sponsor crap and eventually the actual off road/over landing became just a filler. It was pretty terrible in my opinion. I really like your guys' videos alot more. Keep it up mane!
I live in BozemanMT and I totally agree with you
Energy Man, and they always have some dramatic scenario that is clearly contrived. Being less than 2 hours from them, I fear running into them as I would end up talking all sorts of shit,
Marshall Walker I didn’t read your comment until I posted mine. I’m in East Helena. I was excited about watching them, until they started creating “content” rather than recording what organically happened.
You're vids are just pure gold! Thanks man for sharing all this!!!
Well here I am in dreary old England wishing I had emigrated to Oz 45 years ago when I got married after seeing parts of your country while in the merchant navy. Watching your videos really lifts my heart and makes me wish I was younger again. You do a brilliant job with your drone cam and the info is terrific. I hope you can continue for a long time. Well done mate.
Funny to see the little Subaru skip over rocks and stuff. Goes to show how much driver skill can make up for in a vehicle.
Driver skill sure, but don't underestimate the capabilities of those old Scoobs, they're pretty much bombproof. A mate has one and it often gets places my WJ Jeep and another mate's Hilux struggle with...
That Subaru is awesome.
I think it's the light that really makes the view of the coastline, even on a video I can see that the light takes on an almost magical feel making excellent photography and magical experience.
11:18 Look at how those trees are so bowed downstream. There must be an amazing amount of water coming through there to get up so high and move so quickly. Stunning Beauty.
THANKS for showing the Subie- not a bad alternative if you know your limitations.
Videography is frikken awesome, thanks for the share!
freakin'...and yes I agree...that is one great video...🖒👍
Unplanned or not, a great adventure and once again some spectacular camera work!
You probably dont care at all but does someone know a tool to get back into an Instagram account??
I somehow lost my account password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Ryker Jesiah Instablaster ;)
@Maximus Deshawn i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Maximus Deshawn it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account :D
@Ryker Jesiah no problem =)
your cinematic talent is forever improving...the overhead shot with waves crashing on the beach is simply enchanting my friend! great adventure once again...thoroughly enjoyed it.
Another great video Ronnie! Alex's little subie is beast. The quality of your editing has just gone thru the roof bro in the last year. Always looking forward to Saturdays when you post.
Hi Ronny loved all your soundtrack choices made this episode almost spiritual and deeply satisfying keep up the good work
Your videos just keep getting better and better! I don't get who could dislike this... And I love how that the type of off-roading you guys do over there is similar to ours in Argentina, and different from the US's. Anyways, you deserve way more subs than you have!
disliked by those who can't go on such trips lol
I could only imagine the dislikes come from folks who only interested in carnage or hard core rock crawling and the like.
I could only imagine the dislikes come from folks who only interested in carnage or hard core rock crawling and the like.
Liked this video better than I would have if they had covered the mud contest!
x2
That campfire shot around the 10 minute mark was awesome. Very nice to see.
Hats off for another really good video. I'm from where the temperate meets subtropics on the Oz East Coast where the Great Dividing Range meets the coast - think lush green forests, plenty of rain, boggy tracks, lots of hilly tracks, that sort of thing - and I really enjoyed Kalbarri when I travelled around the block several years back.
A plug for Wagoe cabins Kalbarri - They're just South of Kalbarri and offer peace and quiet, nice hot showers and stunning views and a chance to recharge the human batteries. And the water is said to be some of the best in Oz.
On this video, I was astounded by the Subaru. The car and the driver performed really well. It just goes to show how far you can go with a decent SUV and a good driver. Well done Sir.
Great video, Ronny! Thank you very much, it's very enjoyable and well produced I wish it didn't end!
You have beautiful nature there in Australia.
Alex needs bigger tyres and to lose the front and rear bumper and bull bar. Would go a long way. I know he's on a budget, though and it's great that he's getting back at it. Another great video. I always look forward to them!
Love the way the Land Cruiser sounds Ronny!!!
That was an amazing video great videography and editing. I am a new subscriber to you and Alex's channel and I have really been enjoying the videos. I have plans to do some work to my Ford F250 in order to dial it in better for Overland camping and I have found your modified videos very helpful to get ideas of thing i might want to do to my rig. I look forward to more great vids from you and Alex.
Jason
Love the slow-mo of the fire.
Thanks Ronny, well done.
Love the video, especially the drone work.. Amazing work!
Everything about this is so great but I think I like the little Subie best of all. Thanks for all your videos!
Great Video!
Love these longer vids, I'm following from the UK and I can only dream of doing something like this. It's nice to become so immersed you feel your there with them.
the rigs at that mud event are more what I'm used to seeing over here in the U.S. we dont do as much overlanding in my part of the country so our mods are quite different
Trails, beach and "some bush" sounds perfect right about now.
Super envious you get to buy those trucks where you live. Amazing vehicles.
I am as well, but keep in mind, those vehicles are also "super more expensive" than a Tacoma or Jeep or Ranger...
Thanks Ronny, always a pleasure watching your videos.
all your vids are awesome to watch
awesome adventure
Dat coast tho. Seriously beautiful.
The unplanned journey always become the most interesting. Another epic video. Cheers
Ronnie, the videography just keeps getting better man. Keep it up. Great story, great people, great footage.
Love the Subaru haha
Unbelievable quality mate! Forever amazed!
The artwork on the beach at 5:45 amuses my inner 13 year old.
great video look forward to the next one
The night time lapse are my favorite.
Thanks
The tourism board out there should really hire you to make videos for them, top notch stuff as usual.
This is your best video to date, awesome footage 👍🏼
Great time lapse and drone shots
another beautiful vid! thank you
awesome stuff! i cant wait to have my lux set up to head out and explore!
Great video especially minute 5:00 really great shot. I hope you make a video about 4x4 cars maintenance.
my favorite is the humble subaru
great job ronny
look forward to next week
amazing video
Hi Ronny, love your videos, i'm saving up for a Landcruiser work mate, not sure which flavor yet. Thanks for keeping us well informed on the best mods etc. to do
the thumbnail is a thing of beauty
Absolutely stunning! Great job recovering from the event shutting down. I'm glad you went on this trip, way better than that event could ever be anyway. Cheers from Canada! P.S. Those panning time lapses at camp are just awesome! Like to know what rig you use.
subbed.
been into motorbikes and sports car forever, recently found the value in offroad vehicles...
enjoyed this video thanks!
Your videos are beautiful and inspirational. I wish someone did something half as good with Big Bend in Texas - I sure haven't found it!
Another top Video mate. That scoobie did a good job on that terrain as well.
BACON! excellent comment about tire pressure and fuel and wear and tear. gee gee s looked like a set of a horror movie better luck next time. BACON!
enjoyable as always
That's some beautiful country.
Great video and great time lapse at night with the fire and the night sky. Would love to know how you do this and what camera/gear you use. maybe a tutorial in the future. Cheers.
check out his photography channel Ronny dahl photography
Good video mate
top vid once again Ronny and crew, love that coast line north of the Murchison
Obviously best part of the video is the Subaru
Love your videos dude, keep up the good work.
Does this guy have a Universal Soldier sitting next to him?
You are only about 1 km from the town of Kalbarri. I've been there plenty of times. Nice spot there.
The vieos are getting better and better! greetings from europe
Wow, your vids are getting better and better. Amazing!
First one of your vids i've seen. Amazing camera work and nice rigs. You've earned a new subscriber.
Hey Ronnie, is there any way you can make a video of your filming equipment and special techniques you use?
Have a look at Ronny dahl photography
+Josh Smart awsome
Couple of things. First: Wow! Western Australia is beautiful, truly. Second, and this is probably going to sound dumb, but I live in the states, so...: When you all head out, do you ever camp near the crocs?
A lot of Aussies do, just don't leave food outside of your camp site and carcasses should never be thrown near the camp site and you should be right
Crocs are only on about 30% of Australia's coast line, up north, not where these guys are. Nor Sydney, Melbourne or any cities like that.
love all your videos man so good content !!!
i wish we had the same off-road possibilities here in germany ... i think my lada cant be used as i want too...
Awesome camera work and go the subie!!!
Hi Ronny. The pictures from the drone are classic and would like to know what type you operate? Is It easy handling?
I kept waiting for Brian and his Jeep to come around the corner whilst Torben shouts "I bought a Jeep!"
Another great vid Ronny keep up good work almost 60k subs 😆
That was a great video, you got yourself a new subscriber. :)
Oh and that Subaru guy, if he gets by some money again, maybe look into a second hand 4x4 Mercedes Sprinter.
It's big, boxy 4wd van and surprisingly capable, as if made for overlanding.
Ofcourse, it's not a Subaru...
we need an updated video of your land cruiser.
+billynunns still have ongoing changes once they are done there will be a video on it
Sounds good. I'm pretty excited to see them once you're done!
Love the videos, keep up the fantastic work!
Definitely getting deadly with that drone brother
Setting up in the "dark"? C'mon, you guys have lights at every corner of your vehicles!
You guys n girls make Mad Max’s case look like excels lol
a little lift and some bigger tires and that subie will follow those trucks almost anywhere. i wheeled a loyale for a few years
I have had both a Loyale and several Toyota 4x4s, Subie does not have the gearing to crawl and all the torque is higher in the power band the only way it will follow those rigs if it is being drug like a sled. Great for snow but nothing else.
Barry R. Brown youre chattin shit lad, whack it in 1L and go slow, my brumby with 27.5s ans a 3 inch body lift goes where ever my mates patrols on 33s go, ive got the IFS and IRS for diff clearance and better approach/departure angles, not as fast but it does the trick.
Another tops trip ep Ronny !
Love ur vids buddy your drone work is impeccable
Loved the drone overhead shot of the surf. Did you use any filters on that one? Looking at a set of ND filters for my DJI P4 and not sure if 4 to 16 will cover it, or if I should get a 32 as well.
Hey Ronny - great video(s) and getting better all the time - keep them coming. Out of interest, what is the sound track playing starting at 9.55 and roughly concludes at 10.30 or so?
is excellent video bro..👍👍👍👍👍greeting from indonesia.
I was looking forward to see a Mitsubishi a long those...great video
U don't have to if u want. But if it doesn't bother them. Could I have a look at the layout of the "Little Bear" ovelander 79 series for some inspiration please mate.
I like your touring camping
Hi Ronny, Awesome video as always.Just want to know what are those gears you use for videography and where you get those awesome sound tracks?
Rigjt on! Love that Subaru! I had an 86 Loyale. Does that white one have the 2 speed case? That was an option in the US. Mine did not have it sadly...
Indeed it does! That was the selling point for me!
Wish mine had had that. That was a great car. I abused it in the Nevada desert. Love how you powered up that hill from the beach!
Gizzard Stone Yeah I'm really looking forward to getting out in it with the overheating issue fixed and a bit of lift and tyres! She seems to go best when the revvs are singing up a hill :)
That cruiser sounds and looks fucking tough
Do people still build overlanding trucks out of the Full-sized Ford trucks of the Late 70's that were popular in Australia? I have a 1979 F-350 1 ton 4x4 that I am building to go exploring the back country in my state as well as take me to some good hunting and Fishing spots.
David Genthner Jr I travelled around Aus this year and I did see a few big F trucks but no older ones they were all pretty new. But you can travel in anything, back packers drive around the country in old Holden sedans and busted ass vans
Real adventurer 👍
Loving the new music and camera work
edit: did torb get a different roof top tent? Which one is it?
Nice video, shame about the event.Pity the old man's Jeep wasn't there though. Is the heat reduction bonnet doing the trick?
haha i watched alex´s camp recipe video first and wondered why ronnie blew up the shot on purpose :D:D
