David Dobrik told me to watch this video
Tell him I say hi
Davidsdisposable should never be disposed
Same lol
this did not age well lol
@@Emxcix lmao
Fuji is New York and Kodak is Los Angeles if that makes sense
That actually makes perfect sense
Wait I’m dumb I don’t get it 😔
@@lissettet8433 new york is very cool toned and so is Fuji while the kodak has a warmer tone to it like sunny los angeles
Wait I thought LA was hell cloudy/smoggy or something (dunno if you can tell but I’m not from there😅)
Keira Edwards Noooo, LA is super sunny/hot. I think that you’re thinking of San Francisco
It’s funny how disposable cameras are becoming the new polaroid
Disposables will have a comeback and stick around, people are obsessed with the aesthetic and appeal of them. To me it’s the ‘one shot and can’t delete it after’ factor. I think you appreciate the picture more that way. I think that’s part of its charm. You have 27 shots. Don’t waste it. This is just the beginning to the comeback of the disposable. I’m just waiting for old video cameras from the 70s-90s to resurface.
@@Loveisfun123 You just described why I got a Polaroid and why I want to have a few of these disposable cameras. Bravo 👏👏
Yes! It’s just crazy how much the price to develop the pictures have gone up.. I have some that we’re used years ago but we didn’t get the developed because over the years the price went up a lot
@@Loveisfun123 I would say they already have, a lot of friends shot their video projects on VHS and Beta, that was like 2012.
You mean 35mm film?
I think I liked the color tones of the Fuji better, but I feel like the warmer tones of the Kodak work in other settings better.
@@benjaminz248 They are not raw. He is pretty transparent about the fact that he edits his film photos.
and u get 39 with kodak!!!
@@tanvikejriwal1 uhh no, he never mentioned in this video once he edited these. so yeah this video was useless if he edited..
Any real disposable shooters KNOW that the little green Fuji hits different, especially with the flash on👌🏾 it’s also funny watching really talent photographers use disposables because it almost feels like a completely different art of capturing the moment... people who’ve never touched a camera in their lives often end up with some of the coolest shots
I believe some photographers really overthink it when it comes to.street photography. Rules for photography and visual art overall should always be kept in mind, but often to best shots are simply capturing what you think looks interesting
fuck this
@@aarontimm what is your problem ? If you don't like it, just don't watch/comment
@@stefaanverlinde9726 No not the video, the comment
@@aarontimm then I agree !
pro tip to make it look more retro: always use flash even if it’s mid day, it’ll make your pics look better
Thank you
emmys life from a photographer.. that's an awrful tip lol
@@essylaramee retro photos are awful
EL i’ve studied photography for 4 years now.. if you want to make it look retro, that’s how. seems like you haven’t ever taken good disposables i guess
ASS MAN that’s in your opinion. this vid is about retro disposables girly
i was made fun of in fifth grade on a class trip for bringing those when everyone else had digital cameras 😒
Me too! We were just ahead of our time
Now its the complete opposite , i bought one a couple weeks ago and everyone loves it and they think its kinda classic retro vibe.
me too 😭
OMG me too! reading this opened the flood gates of childhood memories😭. I was picked on for taking one to a trip to the beach.
And now I have the best printed pics while they losted it somehow
I love disposable cameras/film cameras. There’s something different and special about it rather than a digital camera. With film cameras you never know how it will turn out and it’s always different, but with a digital camera you can see exactly how it looks and it almost always looks the same.
Lunalivvy what’s a film camera?
J Monea Adventures They’re cameras that use film, like polaroids or the Fuji film instax cameras
Lunalivvy how much do they cost
lxvx lol the instax camera is around $70 I think? That’s how much I got mine for
Bought 2 disposables for my girlfriend and I, we walked around the city taking pictures of each other. Now that we’re doing long distance, I couldn’t be happier with my idea after getting them developed
how do you develope them?
@@scct5933 you can send them out to pretty much any film lab
let me guess, already broke up?
@@hmuz8388 LMFAOOOO
@@hmuz8388 OH COME ON 💀💀
The Fuji seemed to capture colors more true to real life albeit with that slight cooler blue tint that comes with any of their film. I'd say Fuji is better for mornings and Kodak is better for evenings lol i agree it had better low light results.
Yea Fuji was definitely more true to life, Kodak had more of a "look"
want to take pics on my ghana trip let me just buy both and use them day/night 😭
do u know how many photos u can take ?
@@jaelenethom7458 it depends on the roll; for 35mm either you can have 24 or 36 exposures per roll
@@tommy-yr2qb any roll of 35mm film, regardless of brand, is either 24 or 36 exp.
Your videos always make me want to go out and shoot
Saaaame
The video makes you a criminal wow
Victoria G this could’ve been worded waaaay better
elena • Chill, this was written in seconds. It’s not that deep.
Victoria G i’m not taking it deep, i’m just saying lmfao
Low key, now im gonna go buy some disposable cameras later...
For like 10 bucks, heck yeah.
Please don’t. You have a phone. These cameras are so wasteful.
@@murphy1011 it's called a niche. Everyone has a phone, not everyone's phone camera is great. These disposable cameras are cheaper than getting a better phone with a better camera. It's also just more fun to use those. They are wasteful if you buy 10 a week. Few people are going to spend their money on a bunch of disposables when the development fee is 10+ dollars a roll.
@@criticallycheesycaleb6681 yeah, usually people use them spending time with family, friends, memories and cool spots. Which makes them amazing cause it's a great catch the moment pics and memories
You guys are such a cute couple, I like the cool tones in Fuji better but I really like how the Kodak shoots in low light so it kinda depends on the setting
I’ve been watching David Dobrik videos and this video popped up on my recommended🤣🤣🤣
The disposable cameras 😂😂
I just watched his latest vlog like 3 min ago
Dude wtf me too
The Kodak has more grain and that nostalgic look that reminds me of all the field trips I went on as a kid where my mom would give me a disposable to take pictures with.
Man ! The picture @2:33 is amazing ! The one @2:38 as well.
I have an old waterproof disposable camera from about 8 years ago. Do you think I should develop the photos from it for a CZcams video?
Emma Forlong yes! I would definitely watch that!
yeyh
yes
yes! i'd watch
I have found a place that develops the photos so expect the video to come in the next couple of weeks
The Kodak reminds me actual old photos of me or my family while Fuji reminds me Instant Fuji photos in their tone... Kodak wins the nostalgia
watching this in 2020 and i was like “why isn’t anyone wearing masks”
Remember when it was supposed to be over by now?
I love the warm fuzzy feeling pictures on films evoke
my bf and i went to a music festival in chicago last month and we brought disposable cameras with us. definitely made us appreciate the moment and the picture more! and i love the fact that you can’t go back and look at it right away after being so used to taking pics on my phone. we were so excited to get the film developed and looking at them when they were finished was also fun. i didn’t realize how much i miss the early 2000s til after this trip lol
I love camera challenges like this. Chicago is such a great city to visit, too (especially Central Camera on Wabash)!
Wow... I loved how these pictures turned out! Definitely going to pick up a Kodak disposable.
The atmosphere of the videos are really great. Simple, minimalistic but great
Yes sometimes it's nice to just enjoy the experiences of life and not obsess over the perfect shot. I had a Fuji disposable that I gave to my sister while she was here (in Germany) on vacation. I can't wait to see the photos.
Definitely used a Kodak recently and seeing the comparison makes me want to go on a trip just for disposable fun
Another super fun video Willem; I like the Kodak because of its warmer tones!
I can’t believe I live in a time where disposable cameras are back. Is this how old people felt when we brought back instant cameras 😂
Never in my life someone congratulate me in founding their video in recomendations hahaha 💗💗
First David Dobrik, now you, making me want to buy one lol. Love this video !
it’s such a calming video, i love it!!
I love that shot with the window cleaner. I love love love it!!
For me the Kodak looks better, I feel the tones and shadows came nicer than with the fuji
facts tho

yes same

Only just subbed to your channel and saw this on my timeline. Right up my alley
Hey I’m so in love with your channel❤️ you’ve helped me in a lot of photography stuff
The picture of the seat and the Chicago loop stop are so stunning
i've been in love with disposables since i was a jit. so nifty and simple... idc about iso and shutter speed.. there's a rawness of the moment that digital just cannot capture for some reason. plus the developing process is so retro like the 80s - early 2000s
Big big fan of this format Willem, it's very pleasing to see you guys wandering in Chicago you should definitely take us more often on your trips🌿🍃(without becoming these typical show off-wanderlust-travel vlogger) I really appreciated the fact that you didn't make a big deal out of travelling to Chicago, u were just there appreciating spending time with your gf🌿💕 much love for this format, keep doing these ✨
ahaha definitely! Thanks for this :))
i love how vintage it is. Cool and Simple ♡
I just love the look of those cameras!
I've thought about taping two disposables together (bottom to bottom), taking a picture, then rotating the whole thing and taking the exact same photo with the second disposable for direct comparisons... but then I remember they're disposable and not hundreds of dollars. I like your execution better. Cheers!
Im picturing someone walking down the street with that setup lmao
That got me thinking about stereo photography with disposables
Tape 4 and you get a poor man's Nishika xD
I think kodak has more color and always Fuji like have story on the picture
2:09 nice pic
Both came out so cool.... Been using the Kodak F9 ultra reusable camera. Something about Kodak film that is just so comforting.
these are so cute! such a refreshing short video
I’ve always loved these and wanted one. My mom had 2 or 3 when I was 5 but she never let me have one but I finally got one yesterday
I don't understand how they make the digital picture look so good ??
probably scanned it
어미리리 they probably scan them using a printer or something
When you go to get it developed most places now have the option of giving you your pictures on a cd he probably did that and that’s how he uploaded them ps love your pfp :)
Alex Vazquez oh wow! Thanks for the info
He has his own scanner which does the same thing as printer, minus the printing part.
that kodak picture of the chair with the light beaming in is beautiful
great greattt coverage of both! i love disposables
I like both but I love the warm tones with the Kodak! Also did you develop these yourself or send them in?
I've got a whole box full of Kodak funsavers. They are easy to take apart and swap films and batteries if you need to. Keep in mind these are usually f/8 lenses (ISO 800).
can you pls do a tutorial?
haha I LOVE the smooth descending shot at 2.37 like it's a steadycam!
They are fun. There is always seems to be a little surprise with each roll. I prefer the Kodak funsaver if buying new.
Did you use the flash on all of your pictures? (The Kodak ones) I really love how they turned out!
I might buy a disposable Fuji cam when I go to japan I really like the way the pictures turned out
Macy Tran i bought a fuji one in japan and they turned out amazing !
I also did a Kodak (Gold 200 film) & a Fujifilm disposable camera comparison on my recent vacation! I'm still currently getting the photos developed so I'll see how they turn out when they come back. Thank you for sharing your shots tho, they are still so amazing and dreamy!! I lived in Chicago for more than 10 years. You guys chose a good spot to take shots!!!
good to see the old disposable cameras are making a come back
I dig the colors of the kodak much more than the fuji 😍
Does anybody know how they got the digital image onto their computer and/or iphone to insert it into this video????
Probably scanned the photos with a printer to export to their computer
When I get my photos, they always come with a cd full of digital copies
@@sophia5778 Im still wondering how I get the photos developed without it being days,
you can ask the people who develop the film to scan the pictures and transfer them into a USB drive or a CD so you get both a physical and a digital copy of the photographs, most photo shops do it ;)
I think He used a film scanner he have a link for it in the description
Thanks so much dude. I also debate so much on which disposables I should use. Thanks again! ✌️
I was torn between the two until I saw this video! Thanks!!
ahh i'm from chicago! hopefully you can come back sometime and explore some of the neighborhoods!
Villita represent!
Fun vid, I like the comparison. Proves that we don’t need high tech stuff to take great photos.
it's dope seeing this as a photographer because some of these spots I've been to. chicago's a dope city, never gets old taking trips there
Good video! The music went well with the video and the shots were good!
2:06 damn that's an amazing photo
The pictures on @2:33 and @2:40 were my favorite. I'm so obsessed with how they came out. Such a good video.
i like them both! can't choose 😭💖
I remember when I was smol my mom used to have like a ton of them
I tihnk I like the Kodak a little better. When shooting disposables, you're not really going for sharpness, but the Kodaks seem a little clearer. That and I mostly prefer kodak's warm tones overall.
Thank you for spending your valuable time just to make a video, This is really a wonderful video.
even only using disposable camera, but the results of their photos are awesome
Another Verbeeck vid?! I’m in heaven!
am i the only one who's hoping for a disposable camera to be released that has unlimited exposures?? hahaha
i love the kodak camera! i recently got mine developed and made a video on my experience. So cool to see the differene between the fuji one and the kodak one.
this is my first video of yours, great content!!
Did you scan the photos in? Or? How did you get the photos on your computer
You can get them developed at a shop and they can put the pictures on a usb drive for you
Sincerely Eccentric you can either get them on a USB / CD at the store or you can scan them with the google photoscan app!
Annemiek Marie once you’ve scanned them onto a disc/onto your computer how do you get it on your phone
@@alexsubscriptions960 I mean just sending them via bluetooth will do.
2:33 my favorite
This video really make me happy! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This is such a dope video bro. Gotta get a disposable cam asap.
How did you put the photos into your video? Just by taking pics of them on your phone?! They look crazy good so I’m just curious
I think when you go and get your photos processed, they send you a digital copy as well.
Mia Cueto when u get them developed u can also get them scanned which means they’ll send it to u digitally so u can post on social media and stuff like that
You can get them on a cd or you can go a buy a scanner, which is probably what he has. Some printers now come with scanners too.
you can actually go to your “notes” app if you have an Iphone & click the camera button in the corner. Select “scan documents” in this case being the photos, and they will transfer to your camera roll!
@@roribeth6384 eww no
David Dobrik: “nice”
Happy birthday. Chicago is a fun city. You got some nice shots, though it's hard to tell which is better without looking at prints.
Yeses this is perfect since I wanted to try one out in Chicago
2:16 Edward Hopper's painting!
How do you get the disposable camera pictures uploaded to your phone?
that’s what I’m tryna figure out
This looks so fun! I definitely want to try this and challenge someone to do it with me!!
found you on my recommendation and you’re right im lucky🙄❤️and im definitely subscribing
This might be dumb but where do you develop disposables at I heard Walgreens/cvs weren’t good places also do places scan disposable for you?
s3xylegend i got mine developed at walmart and they gave me a disc with the pictures on it also!
Hi! You can take your FIJI disposables to Walmart and they ship them off and I think you get them back in like a week and pay like $10! They also come with CD’s. You can also try your local photography shops.
I work at Walgreens and it's about $10-15 depending on if you used all the pictures (they shouldn't charge you for black/unuseable pictures) and it comes with a free cd as well. Takes a week the longest usually.
I take mine to the Kodak store we have one in my town ☺️
how often do you keep you flash on?
I have used disposables in good lighting and they didn't even show up ):
Isaac Shriver for every shot!
@@FideLai thank you very much I appreciate it.
I did this test as a school project when I was a kid and loved the Fuji disposable camera back then. Found watching this I still really like the Fuji
U r a perfect example of no professional equipment needed. Jus drive, creativity, n the eye. Ur disposable cam shots r better than my eos shots lmao
damn that intro was cute
Glad someone appreciates it
Okay guys so I hope this doesn’t get lost in the comments : im seeing a lot of comments and willem himself says that Kodak is better in lowlight and Fuji is better in daylight. So is that saying that Kodak is better as it shoots in both day and night? Im going on a little trip to Spain and it will be my first experience with disposables so I really need all the help I can get. Feel free to give me any other tips and tricks
I’ve seen someone do this, I’m going to try it myself for a challenge, when we’re not in lockdown that is. Looks like a great fun day
Holding hands picture. Wholesome
Damn mine look good I’m bout to start a CZcams channel
😂😂
How do you get the disposable camera photos on your computer or onto your phone?
Hannah C Lin hi, just ask the worker at your film developing store to put your pictures on a CD/USB drive and then you can transfer them on to your computer and then phone if you’d like to :)
I like the warmth in the Kodak photos
found this video and just realized i had already been following you on Instagram life is crazy
I remember I went to fifth grade camp and I brought a disposable camera while everyone was bringing a instax camera and I felt cool because I was unique (this was in 2018)
