Love the video! Fun fact with the ‘disposable’ cameras is that they’re usually returned to Kodak/Fujifilm. They pop in a new battery, film roll and sell the camera again.
oh that's pretty cool ! more sustainable that way
Do you know how to send it back to them? This seems pretty cool
I hope this is true!
@@thequeen4140 if you go to get your film developed they should keep your camera and give it to the company
I used to work at a 1hr photo shop and that's not true at all. we break them apart, strip out the battery and recycle the housing
I love how the guy's checking out the wall wondering what you're taking a picture of... while you're taking a picture of him.
3:08 sums up the fun of street photography, being able to capture and compose such a beautiful moving shot
Some really nice shots! The camera is 30mm, f10 at 1/100s and ISO800. Fixed focus. There's nothing automatic going on, just the latitude of the film.
I loved the shot with the man in the suit checking his watch. It had a very nostalgic 90s NYC street photography feel. A lot of your photos did. If just goes to show it's not about the camera you use, but the photographer. ❤️
Same for me ❤
Wow, so many memories! That sound too! As a 90s kid, these were always a go-to for shows and parties because it wasn't so bad if you lost them. They were also a mainstay for many wedding tables because you could get some truly random and funny shots taken by the guests. Fun video and some really nice shots!
So true! I've got a ton of printed images I made on these over 25 years ago in an album and they are actually of pretty impressive quality. And I too remember seeing these on tables at weddings. Fun times.
Loved the shot of the guy at 8:27. He stopped when he saw you lining up the shot. He never expected it!
Oh man, the vibe that launched a thousand preset packs. Takes me back to my childhood in the 80s, when this is what New York looked like (as far people like me who didn't live in New York could tell). What a fun experiment, and some really cool shots!
That click click click while reloading is soo satisfying!
I was afraid it was going to be annoying 😂
You absolutely killed this as always Faizal! These videos are always such a nice vibe. Beautiful images!
Thank you!!
Yeah he did a way better job then i did on the one i uploaded
7:14 that's my favorite shot. I fall in love with it
The imperfections of these photos are what makes it beautiful. I've been wanting to do this for ages.
Thank you for sharing
BRO! When you snapped that photo at 6:30 I just paused the video and my jaw dropped, this is my favourite type of photography when the moment captured truly tells story and immerses you inside it! Great snap man, these disposable cameras are next level!!!
these are some really good shots. i love your work man!
4:16 I love the interactions between the ticket master and the guy standing to the side. Great timing! Great shot!
We had one on each table at our wedding reception. (2002). We got some great shots.
Great shots as always! Loved the video!
This is so inspiring, thank you for sharing!
Loved the novelty of this idea and the photos you captured.
Amazing vibe!!! Super cool photos, I must try this
This looks like way too much fun! I will need to try it here in London!
Literally killing it with the pics of people and they have no idea 😭😂 so cool
We used to carefully pry these apart and send a sack (think large postal sack) full of these off for recycling.
In the early 2000s we probably sold and processed hundreds of these in the Summer, in a small shop in a small town in the UK. Eventually (by 2007), we ended up giving really simple 35mm cameras out at a camparable price, including a film and battery, to spare using the 'disposable' models.
I have a couple disposable-like cameras. I have the Ilford Sprite 35-II, and another similar one from Lomography. They are reloadable cameras, but give you that simple point and shoot/disposable feel. The benefit is that you can load some decent film in them and get surprisingly good stuff. I use them both all the time.
Man your channel is so laid back and a joy to watch! Much love from East Tennessee🙏🏼
thank you!!
Love the vibes bro🌞 and yeah! You lookin good👍
This video seems so fun! I've shot couple times for fun with a disposable but shooting with a film camera is better in way more was. Great video Faizal as always :D
The photo of the guy looking at the green wall was gold! Well done, great video.
That fresh cut tho! Fire vid dawg!
I like the old fashion look of some of your pictures, well done!
I love the, I guess vintage look it gives to the photos. Very cool. Haven't used one of those in probably 20 years.
I love the picture in your background!!! 👌🏻👌🏻
Super fun video with some beautiful shots! Just yesterday I bought a fuji film disposable camera with the same video idea in mind, hoping I can get something half as good as what you captured!
That interaction with the guy in front of the green wall was hilarious. Great video and amazing shots as always.
the photos made me smile 💗💗💗
man! your video makes me missing NYC so much right now.
a disposable camera is actually what got me into film photography. i once picked one up out of courisity and i really loved the vibe of the pictures. after that i asked around in my family if someone has an old slr and now i almost exclusively shoot film.
Awesome video man!
Very entertaining, Faizal.
8:26 killed me lol. Great work man, this is really superb.
classic faizal videos. I'm personally sad that most of his videos now are turning into some kind of cinematic style of street photography as opposed to raw POVs but I'm still here, a loyal supporter for whatever journey his channel is going to :)
Very cool project! They do make cameras now (Lomography Simple Use, Ilford Sprite 35 II) that are essentially a reloadable version of a disposable, I'm thinking of picking up one myself so I can keep one in the car or carry one with me without worrying about being out a bunch of money if it gets stolen or damaged.
Great stuff! I think I wanna jump on this challenge!
This is such an amazing video… I gonna try this
9:46 love it!, good job Faizal 👍
Gorgeous images!
Amazing mate I love your work. Very new, very amateur photographer and love to get some inspiration from your channel.
THIS IS DOPE !!
Wow those were so much better then I remember them being when I was a kid. Like, those looked legitimately nice. That was a good idea for a video too.
killed it!!!!!
Most of my childhood memories, especially related to school trips, had been captured with these cameras.
THIS LOOKS BETTER (WAY BETTER) THAN I THOUGHT!!!
Nice Experience! And you said the totally truth at the end of this video!
that stop sign construction worker. perfect. good vid my dude
I bought a Fuji disposable camera recently after looking at a bunch of my old photos that I had recovered from my basement after it was flooded due to Hurricane Ida and well, I want to go back out and shoot like they did back in the 90s. This video is giving me the strong encouragement to do so.
Well done
Amazing what you can do with minimal resources.
I’m a newbie Street Photographer and watching your POV videos continues to teach me lessons in composition, timing and lighting.
One thing that would be cool is to show the unedited and then edited photo based on the POV. This would be very instructive as I try to learn how and when to take photos and what can be done with the photo with editing.
Keep it up!!!!!
Also - the link to your “favorite camera strap” is not working. I’m in the market for a thin/lightweight strap to use with my Fuji XT30
Keep up the great work
Nice video. I love that you B&H to buy this cheap little plastic camera. I was surprised how well some of the images came out.
Man, you're amazing! keep it up!
Appreciate you!!
Loved the new hair, great video as always Faizal :)
Hah thanks man
These pics are gorgeous ngl
I was hoping next video would be part 2 of coney island but boy that was fun as hell to watch.
A lot of these images were sick. Surprised me a bit haha keep up the amazing photos!
Haha yeah I was surprised too how well they came out
my mom used to send me on field trips with one of these, such great memories of running out of film before we saw the third zoo animal
When see the results of my first disposable camera. The results was beyond my expectations. Great video btw keep it up 🔥
Thanks so much!
You make me feel old. Lol. That’s what I grew up using.
I need visit NYC again
The shots turned out great man. If you want to be a little more stealthy then remove the covering from the camera. My friend did this to document a work trip we all had together and the photos turned out pretty spectacular and he just was able to pocket it with him all the time and use it when the time was right and got some sick snaps.
would love another one with the fuji ❤
I will always click on a disposable camera video 😂
😂
3:05 was a MOMENT !!! Nice shot !
my man's scrolling that wheel like his life depends on it lol
Street photography interests me, sadly the largest city closest to me is Detroit, and I don't go there enough to be able to do this.
But man, it's just so great, all of these small moments frozen in time. Somebody stopping for a rest on a hot day, or somebody else feeding the birds.
Outwards looking in, this means nothing, but when you consider the story that each person has to tell as to how they go there, it gets much more interesting all of a sudden.
Loving the vibe, and yeah, these disposable cameras are pretty fun to shoot with!
7:53 damn would've been a keeper. Love the feel of the photos too
I love it♥️
Yes I've shot with disposable cameras many times. However I would often by them second hand and they often would be expired with half a roll of film on them. While I thought that maybe I'd find some great shots from the previous owner of the camera, most of the time it was someone's birthday party or holiday get together with their family. But it is fun to shoot with them though for me. I usually only pay a few dollars for them, at the most 4 dollars. Cool video!
so coool ❤️
C’est vraiment incroyable
3:09 this shot was so perfect wow
I swear sometimes I forget how beautiful street photography can be
Great video bro!
Thanks!!
Michael Ernest Sweet was the OG with the disposable camera. He was doing this stuff way back!! He always used disposable on the street because there was no shutter lag. He has a book of disposable street photos its called "Disposable". I think it is out of print now but I have a copy. It's quite good.
this is interesting. for me these kinds of cameras are the only way i can shoot film when travelling abroad. since i live in a country that has little to no one shooting film, cameras and film here are stupidly expensive so I dont own a film camera. when i travel tho, I usually buy one of these for each of the people that are with me and get them developed just before I leave. it's always super fun and we get great photos that would look disposable if taken with phones (see what i did there?), and even prints that can be used as souvenirs . so yeah, for me it's the most affordable way to shoot film
Great shots! Did you take these with flash on or off?
I loved this video. I'm passionate about photography and film cameras🇧🇷😘
Lovely stuff. I think some of these shots would have benefitted from a different viewpoint, i.e. they're all shot from headheight or thereabouts.
Keep it coming!
Im gonna be myself by using one of these when i go to Cleveland for the eclipse and im really looking forward to the task even if it might be difficult
I just wonder how many pictures you have printeeeed ! Btw the pictures you create were awesome
how is the dynamic range so good in your pictures wow
Everytime they stop ! 😂😂😂
love your glasses! what is the brand of it? let me know
Great photos man! Where they dslr scanned or lab scanned?
Great Video! There is a version with some extra pictures. It’s an Kodak iso800 film inside. Some people on CZcams also reload the camera by themselves. I used a kodak funsaver to extraxg the film and use it in my nikon slr. And i find for 14€ it’s a fair price in 2023 for a iso800 film with 39 pictures.
Don't forget to do a double exposure but taking a photo then smacking the bottom of the camera to trigger another without winding. Classic funsaver trick.
8:25 oh yeah
love the framing of the shot at 5:05
Thanks! I was happy about that "everyone wants it" text in the background being there. Didn't notice it in the moment
yoooooo nice haircut man
You have an incredible eye when it comes to reflective surfaces. My personal favorite is man's hand on sign.
man I need a film simulation that looks like that!
Man are you retouching the color of our photos on a computer or is it the fresh unchanged first scan that ou're showing ? Because if you aren't retouching it, men you're killing it, well even if ou retouching them you've got an awesome spontaneous composition ! i am in France but my dream it's to come in US (or China but their politics don't really fit with mine) to make photography but between the COVID, my personnal problems, and the financial part, because i didn't sell any of my work, i have no money income so going to the US, in a big city in addition to that it can't even be a thinking, it's dead i will never go to US to do any sort of art.. Yet i'm drawing, painting, making cloths, doing different type of collage, doing street collage too, i'm doing different type of visual artwork, but but nobody is interested by it, so i'm selling nothing, and with my personnal handicap didn't to it.. i can't work for the moment, i say all of that because i would like so much to live by my work like you and i'm throwing a stone the see in the hope that someone maybe would be interested to helping me, cordially and with all my heart, you're really talented, continue to do what you're doing !
Nice shot, try lomo camera next 👍
