I love that B&W shot of the guy walking across the street with one leg that’s sharp. I think you got some really good shots throughout this video.
that one was my favourite too. The lighting was amazing
One of my faves. It looks like the man is coming into existence during the shot.
It’s really cool using techniques used by older photographers, could be a cool series maybe like trying Saul Leiter technique by almost only shooting through windows or reflective surfaces
Glad to see Ernst Haas appear on your vlog, he worked with the film knowing what would happen, some slide film was designed to work with the slowest shutter speed of a second, but he would go as far as 10 seconds, and the result was crazy colours. He was a Master Photographer and he worked with Magnum.
Shoutout Ernst Haas!! My absolute favorite. His work is consistently so expressive and graphic.
Love so many of the shots you took. Motion blur in a photo adds nostalgia and makes me feel something.
These are beautiful. I experimented with this a bit early in the year, and I love the results of the slow shutter. When it works it really works.
I love your urban videos, almost ethereal and meditative, as we are led by you through the streets and it's photographic delights, a real pleasure and joy to watch, thanks for being so inspiring Faizal.
You can push this a step further using rear shutter sync flash, the built in X100 flash is more than enough to experiment with it, exposures of 1sec+ blend in motion blur and tack sharp subjects in really unique ways. I've found it really fun for portraits and really pleasing in black and white also.
Hhola amigo y que apertura usaste?
I started really getting into photography about 2 years ago, and your videos are always the ones I go back to because It has helped me:
1. Lean how to navigate the camera I am using
2. And most post importantly how see the world differently when I am out, I permantly have a camera with me when I go out now.
I know this is a 3 year old video, but I learn something new today that I will 100% be trying the next time I go out to shoot :)
I love that you bring references and books about artists
You're really cool FW. I love the content, all of it. The transparency and love you put into this work is inspiring. Watching your channel grow and content get better (always been dope though) has been great to see and be apart of. Fujifilm research brought me to you, but your genuine heart and soul has kept me around long after buying my first camera two years ago. Photography has been healing for me and after hearing you mention a similar reason for starting I immediately connected with the content. I love my X100V and you too. Thanks for being you.
Photo at 11:24 is SO good!! Love how you experimented with this video and the way you shot the intro before the POV! Really great stuff as always. Keep it up!
dude i was literally thinking the same thing that image!!!
as a fellow introverted photographer, your channel is always source of great tips and understading some of the struggles we may share
I've been bingeing your videos and they're great! Going out with a theme or limitation in mind is an excellent way to make you think creatively.
I'm out on a photowalk this morning around Copenhagen, this has definitely inspired me for today. Thank you Faizal, great shots in this one 🔥
Really digging the one at 9:53, something about it just looks so cool!
I‘m very grateful for this video! It really keeps me going on and the success especially in these shots makes me extremely happy , thank you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I really like the results you got man! the scenes it creates are both abstract and creative
I love the abstraction that can be generated with this technique 🙌
I love the photo at 10:33, to me, it captured perfectly the essence of the man's movement: the blurred silhouette and a leg - the mean of movement.
One of the best channels out here, great work!
Another type of photography that I have to try along with night photography ! Thanks Faisal, I have plenty to keep me busy & hopefully inspired.
Such a nice way to start the day watching your pov! You are great
Thank you for another inspiring video. A lot of the shots are really cool and artistic. I can't wait to try this myself.
very informative thankyou ! love the shot with the big red blurred blob
Great video man! One of my personal favourites of my own shots happens to be a motion blur shot. I've been experimenting sporadically ever since, but just like you I always forget to keep experimenting with it haha. Also, just wanted to mention, I recently purchased your film presets + have really been enjoying using them!
such beautiful pictures ! love it
Love the tip of the hat to Ernest. The bullfighter is my favorite. Good for you for trying a different discipline…very inspirational. After seeing the reflections of the cars making a right turn in front of the glass building at 4:41, I kept waiting for the motion blur of the same. ;-). Keep up the great work!
Did my first motion blur shots the other day and it feels SO WEIRD. Great video, gonna go try some more this weekend. Have a good one man!
Super fun video! I'm gonna give this style a try. I've done it by accident and always thought the shots come out super cool, but I haven't intentionally tried to blur my street photos. Awesome videos as always!
Loved watching this! Great pictures as well!!
I was doing a small university-project about movement in Street Photography (in March) and it opened some new opportunities to me I've never considered before. So much fun to play around, I should do that more often :))
I'm inspired to do a motion blur series after watching this video. Thank you for the inspiration!
Amazing video Faizal, made me want to start experimenting with motion blur photography. Keep up the good work!
I love this technique. I can’t wait to try it out. Thank you
I appreciate this video and tried it this morning. You saved me time because you mentioned the in camera ND filter. My XT30 doesn’t have one, but I used my over the lens ND filter. Also your comment regarding the speed setting saved even more time. I positioned myself on a bridge with the camera resting on the concrete bridge railing. The results were awesome. Thanks for the video and tips. Very helpful and got me out of my comfort zone as well.
I have x-e4 with 27mm lens, which ND filter should i buy? I couldn't able to find.
I feel inspired after watching your video, I will try this out the next time I go shooting. Thank you very much.
Wow! the photos that came out of this video are legendary!
Really impressive shots, Faizal. Enjoyed this little exercise very much!
Wow! I didn't expect to like these photos that much since I'm normally a fan of sharp photos. But these are great! The colours are awesome. I definetely will be trying it out soon. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love the two shots at 11:52 they look so dreamy to me
I really enjoyed watching this. Really cool idea too. Especially in the middle of the day.
It has 100% inspired me to go out and focus on just 1 technique for a shoot. Thanks :)
Great video, buddy. Love how you build it up with Ernst Haas and then convert the "theory" in the field. The motion blur effect kinda reminded me of some impressionistic art because of its washy look. Thanks so much for the inspiration 🙏, stay safe.
Agree. I typically feel more fulfilled when i go out to shoot with a purpose or theme or location. Keep it up
Fantastic, Faizal! Really fascinating!!!
photowalk videos are always so cosy, really nicely done!
Couldn’t agree more
You got some beauties! Glad to hear you say you will keep trying this technique, certainly inspired me!
excellent video, very inspiring, and i loved the section about haas aswell i had never seen his work before. Keep it up im subscribed and am am looking forward to more videos
The yellow car and truck shot is my favorite
That color palette analogy really made me watch the WHOLE video with different eyes! To the point that it made me implement that experiment in my shoots :)
Love your videos man! Great inspiration. I will try this out.
Faizal, thank you so much for these uploads. I have read about this technique many years ago but never tried it. New subscriber here from Cebu Island, Philippines.
I loved the video!
I really loved the photos you took and they even seemed to have the look of film photos...
Did you edit them? and if so did you do it differently in some way?
these are all _so amazing_ 😍
Just the inspiration I needed!
That video at the 4:40 mark syncs up so well with the music!
Great shots! I've shot in some of the exact some locations and have been feeling uninspired lately. Your video pushed me to go and experiment more :)
Excellent work! And I loved your choice of music for the video. It really matches your aesthetic.
I love your style and the way you narrate the techniques and the photographies. Photography is a delightful journey of learning and we can see by your videos that you love to this journey, a journey of learning, experimenting and observing. Congrats man, for sure I am subscribing to your channel !
Inspiring video.. just ordered the book and ND filter for my lens .. thank you and looking for more POV videos and new street photography ideas.
9:46 I don't know if this is just me, but the shadow on the yellow truck looks like a child. The little detail really improves the whole picture. Great work!
Amazing as always, thats something I really need to try 👏🏼👏🏼
these are actually so fireee
Loved it dude! I do long exposure art in camera and one of my favorite shots is a long exposure
Incredibly nice work! 👍
very cool stuff man. I've been practicing this recently as well, it's def something I want to do more of!
10:35 is such an amazing picture like damn
Hadn't heard of Ernst Hass but it's interesting to see this video today because I've been working for a couple weeks on a short project all focused on motion blur.
I just picked up the magnum contact sheets book and omg what a great recommendation thanks man
the shot at 10:33 is amazing!!
Great video. I really like the shot at 12.43 - the lady with the red coat after the truck passes. 👌🏻
The shots look great! What were your settings in camera ISO Speed, aperture?
Really enjoyed the experience, well done!
6:10 that shot is stunning the colors are amazing! i really loved this entire video, very inspiring (:
Mine has got to be the blue cap at Champs. 11:48
Thank's for the video and inspiration. What is the hand strap you are using?
Exciting experience really great
Thanks for introducing us (me) to Haas. It’s always nice to find photo work of different photographers!
!!!
Your camera looks incredible! I have a fujifilm xt30 and I find myself not really loving it since the settings are different, but yours looks great!!!
Enjoyed your video and examples - I find it is even better at night with the light trails from car lights particularly - results can be quite random and special.
Nice video and some great shots in there!
Yellow reflection with blue car wizzing through - for the win.
Great vid and shots, Faiszal! I will give it a go myself.
Nice vid! Some of them turned out really good! I think I will give it a try as well. Thanks for the inspiration!
Loved the content. Would love to see you discuss current icons like Joshua Jackson, Sean Tucker, etc. Dissecting their technique would be amazing content
Love this technique. I don’t try it enough. Will change that.
it was so cool n very helpful!! thanks!!
Don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but if you move the ovf/evf lever to the right and hold for 2 seconds, this activates the ND filter obviating the need to assign a button.
Absolutely loved this video. Made me realize I need to step away from my style a bit to do some things I’m not used to. I’ll give this a shot.
Also, you use Lightroom to edit? I’m a Fuji user but read about how lightroom doesn’t process Fuji raw files correctly and should instead use capture one.
Great work 😍
Very nicely done.
Love the pictures in this video. Thanks for the inspiration, definitely going to try this if the weather clears up this week. Do you know if the picture @ 0:51 was taken with Ibis or Optical stabilization from the lens? I'm just about to switch camera and lens and I'm thinking I'll get the X-T30 mk II, but I'm wondering if the lack of Ibis is going to be an issue for that style of picture.
For this style of picture you dont need Ibis absolutly .
Nice work dude I really enjoy the motion blur with my GRIII
I love these pictures, which are the settings for the camera? 💖 keep the good content 😊
You inspired me to do this on my next walk!
really liked the photos you got here.
Thankyou for this video
I was just speaking about this yesterday as a couple of friends had tried it, now it’s my turn
A fun shoot Thanks for a good video
You know it's funny I was going through my feed and thought to myself, "it's been a minute since he's uploaded, hope he's doing alright" and here we are lol
Aw :’) It’s looking like you guys can expect videos Friday or Saturday from now on
Please may I ask what Font / Typeface you used for your "Kodak Kodachrome" Text Title Overlay? Thanks
You know what’s crazy?! Last night I was in the car and I was the passenger, I wanted to take pictures of the cars using a low shutter speed to light paint and it turned out great! It’s fun, was wondering why more people didn’t do it.
The music 😍
