The Tek is beautiful and so is the HP computer, I bought the 5381A from the labs at my former job (unfortunately it was also stolen then).

For the Tektronix Remove R207 and R213, this allows for the higher bandwidth in the input stages and R204 tells the FW to behave as a THS720P if newer (remove R205 instead of R204 to make it a 720P) or R204 (to make it a 720A) Upgraded mines already and upgraded it from a THS720A to THS720P which give you power measurements.
Also if you get any DC offset usually optic couplers are drifting and need to be replaced and it has a couple SMD capacitors by multi meter cable that need to be replaced as turns to resistors and usually leak.

Hi, Tony. I have the same Tek scope. The conversion from 710 to 720 is very easy, works great.

I saw you scored a THS710 Tek Scope, I have a THS720P and I designed a 1:1 Drop-in Replacement LED Background Controller and a External Battery Charger for it, in case you are Interested both are on my Channel and at the EEVblog, I am not allowed to post Links here. I have spare black PCB's for both that I don't need anymore, so in case you want to Build it let me know.

Yes i saw that after ordering too, most video are 2 years old, while i thought is was just new :) .. i have firmware 2.1 i think... so lets see... in the little DL24 it had v5 or 6.

I have been using my ET432 a lot for L&C measurements these last months. I'd be interested in your checking of accuracy (comparisons) of esr and Q with best LCR instruments. I use my vna, but I'd like a real LCR meter comparison at various frequencies.

Hi Tony, let me tell you how they go around the radio market and everyone has radio stations, why is that, why not a cell phone, I’m just from Russia.
Hi Good question. the Ham radio started for electronics engineers who had interest in radio technology, then a license system was brought for doing radio experiments by people with technical knowlage so they dont create distortion on unwanted frequencies. It was to improve the technology when more people are working on it. Now with so many other communication devices and with other license systems. it makes less sense other than when all other systems fail, the ham radio still works. Some counties for that reason can confiscate your radio in crisis times or at least the Ham radio operator needs to grand access for coverment to its radio station. We are talking real HF radio stations.
In The Netherlands it was called: Experimental Radio Research license and you needed to pass a technical test and theoretical procedures.

@@cyberbobr3782 Cellular is not really expensive, only when faster and more data it becomes expensive. Yes many payment systems are availeble. our banks and creditcard companies have connections to all kind of smart devices companies, Apple pay Google pay Garmin Pay and many more. with RFid chip in phone or watch or by simply scanning a QR code with your phone camera will start the bank application on your phone. many options are available.
