It takes a lot to wake up in the morning and look out at snow, heavy rain, sub zero temperatures and have what it takes to go mobile doing these repairs, fair play.
There are some clutches (due to the size of the gearbox) I wouldn’t even do on the floor let alone in the snow 💪. I’m a mechanic but your in a different league In terms of physical ability. 👍
This guy is an inspiration. I can barely work up the will power to do simple jobs on my car in a garage, let alone benching a gearbox on my back in the snow. What a hero.
i like my two post ramp very, very much... maybe a yaris or a ford ka out on a driveway but a vw? where youve got to twist the box? as i said i love my ramps...
I'm a retired mechanic & I've spent lots of time repairing/recovering vehicles in all weathers, but man, I got to hand it to you for grit. I used to hate changing clutches on front-wheel-drive cars in the garage, let alone outside & in the snow. Top man👍
Wow! You are so well skilled and knowledgable you have fluidity in the way you move, almost move like a robot in an assembly plant. Truly amazing to watch this is.
That right there is graft.. Bloody hard graft.. I am 100% sure this gentleman is superman in disguise.. I am a Landscape gardener myself and farmer and working in the snow on the floor isn't good.. Fantastic video... Absolutely awesome.. 💯👌👍💯
I take my hat off to you . I've changed many clutch's over the years on my car's and it's not easy on your back. They certainly don't make it easy on modern vehicles. You've got great knowledge and some great tools. Great video!!!!!!!
I was just scrolling through CZcams videos and came across William's channel and wow what can I say this guy is an absolute legend 👍. hard work pays off
I used to do roadside clutches, on trucks. I had a nice transmission jack. I never ever used an alignment tool either, except for twin plate clutches. I only do lighter work now because I got unwell and was told I couldn’t do heavy work anymore. Good work, and Stay healthy. I know full well what it’s like.
Been watching your vids since you helped me through my first clutch replacement on a dispatch, recently did a clutch on a 205 with no problems. Thanks for your videos mate.
Hats off for you man. I like this style of video from time to time. Great work. Every time I watch your video I'm thinking "I'll be as busy as you are and as good as you one day" I'm trying to go away from workshop and get into mobile mechanic more and more, and your videos are very positive and confidence boosting. From Windsor UK all the best
you have done many quality vids in the past and still doing what you do best but this one is at the top of the list for me, you travel many many miles from job to job and put wear and tear on your own vehicle to put customers back on the road come rain snow wind, and as you know i was one of them, big thumbs up Kevin 👍👍
Max thanks for the genuine feedback., it’s great to know so I can do a few more of these ones on top of the regular ones. I really appreciate your support for the channel. Thank you.
I use to be a mechanic 11 years ago (got made redundant then got fibromyalgia) so can't return to it sadly miss it alot but my god you sir are a grafter. I thought doing gearbox on a lift was hardworking. Definitely subbing 👏🏻👏🏻
Hey Kev, what a great idea day in the life and such. Its so good to see all the preparation of you getting ready, jacking the cars and supporting them, great to see how conscious you are in terms of your safety when supporting such weight. I nicked your idea of the interlocking mats and use them every day. I see like me u have the quickjack system but i also note u use your tried and trusted method plus as u know setting up the quickjacks is a bit long winded and as u will also appreciate they are bloody heavy. Your a real grafter Kev, thanks so much for taking the time to bring to us the great work you do and sharing your skills. You are the man. Kind regards Jay
Hi Jay. Thanks for a great review and for sharing your own experience. It’s always great to hear how other guys are doing out there. I still use quick jack but only for RWD., FWD I feel better knowing the back wheels are firmly planted on the ground. Definitely wheel chokes are a must. Most days I use 3 sets of axle stands. Safety is everything. If doesn’t look right i don’t do it and never get pressured to do so. I really appreciate your support to the channel. Thank you.
Great video, and not just for showing the clutch replacement process. Rather, it shows how the mobile pro works - dressed for success so that he’s comfortable, all the things like some kind of rubber mats under the car instead of us, amateurs using cardboards.
Respect for doing them outside on the floor! One of the worst things is getting out stuck driveshafts or lower ball joints. Or when you get to the clutch and realise they have supplied you the wrong clutch! Takes skill and strength to get some of those boxes out
Great video Kevin, Alot of us complain when threes a bit of bad weather to walk just to the office and we work inside. Full points to you for working out in the wilds of winter well done.
I just did this exact job (focus) in 2 degrees C... But it took me like 2 days (my arms are too pathetic to bench the box lol). But how you can do this in a few hours is insane! Good job!
De verdad Kevin me molan mazo tus videos. Veo gracias a ti como son las carreteras de INGLATERRA y sus barrios, como te preparas, como solucionas el problema mecánico, me entretienen una barbaridad tus videos FELICIDADES.
Hands up, I could not do this; meaning, I would not be able to work under such conditions. My deepest respect to you, Kevin, as it takes a lot of guts to do a job like this. Wishing you the best of luck with your superb business 👍
Been in the trade over 25 years myself and I take my hat off to you fella 👊🏻👊🏻 Got my respect fella not easy on the floor in all weathers and making it look easy too 😜😎
Hi I used to do mobile welding repairs for over 25 years .heart attack got me in the end. I used to melt the snow with my tourch , I know what you have to go though to do the job ,great work your doing love the vids brings back memory’s lol.
These Vids remind me of working in Canada for Mack trucks 30 years ago, heading north to a remote logging camp in minus 25c ,Had to pull out a 2 ton gearbox using Pallets as the trans jack was useless in 3 ft of snow.Hard slugging work for 3 days.back then I did,t think nothing of it,,Today I think I must of been nuts..This Guy reminds me of that time..Good worker and Tuff Good man.
Utter respect! I remeber my uncle now deceased who was a Head Ford tech and me at 17 went out to a scrap yard in the snow took the gearbox of a simple xr3i and fitted it with a clutch change in another car and I have hated clutch changes and that was two of us! In a heater garage and with bottle of brandy and lashings of beer! Then we went to the pub! I never slept so well ever.
You are an absolute hero working in such conditions. My local garage with all their facilities made an utter mess of changing the clutch and it ended up costing £1200 instead of £600.
Hi Kevin, this is a very nice video with all these important details, so always make them with as many details as possible. I have always followed you with great pleasure since I discovered you on CZcams and I appreciate you very much that you are a wonderful man and a very good mechanic and you show all the details step by step from A to Z. I hug you dearly and I respect you very much ! Thanks for sharing ! Respect Kevin ! Have a good day !
I did an clutch and flywheel on a 2ltr alfa Gulietta on my drive and it took me 2 days! admittedly alf the front end had to come off but watching you do similar in 2 hours is crackers! good on you!
Wow amazing skills and work ethics. I have done the clutch on my car on gravel parking lot laying on cardboard but it wasn’t raining or cold. I hope you charge a premium price !
Hi - Kev this one was a far cry from the summer when you replaced the clutch on my Nissan NV200 Campervan, stay safe my friend and roll on warm 🌞 😎 days. Keep up the good work and videos I really enjoy watching your skills and the jobs you take on. Most importantly Stay safe.
Hi Nigel. Great to hear from you. It was really nice meeting you and working on your Nissan. Hope you’re keeping well and thanks for supporting the channel. Very much appreciated.
Money is a root of all evil. I feel so sorry for this mechanic. To feed his family he's having to work in conditions like this. My wife asked me to change her back box on her be sharan. And I struggle to do it Hats off to you mate.
My hat is off to you, I live in Florida where is warm and I have to do the same to my Maxima. You just raised the bar for all mechanics. You should wear non fogging safety eyeglasses.
It takes a lot to wake up in the morning and look out at snow, heavy rain, sub zero temperatures and have what it takes to go mobile doing these repairs, fair play.
If only we had politicians that worked as hard as Kevin
🤭😁
Worked? Doubt any of them even know what that is, near mind working hard lol.
You need to give politicians a description of hard work or draw the lazy bastards a diagram. This guy i take my hat off to.....
GOOD GOD!!!! that would require integrity!
Unstoppable 👍🏼
This guy is a machine, he picked up that Focus gearbox like a toy car.
If you can't lift around 40 kg that way you really should consider hitting the gym...
He's ok other people are weak.
There are some clutches (due to the size of the gearbox) I wouldn’t even do on the floor let alone in the snow 💪. I’m a mechanic but your in a different league In terms of physical ability. 👍
phone call comes in....the word volkswagen comes over the phone..."oh shit, here we go again"
Thats how i have replaced clutches for the last 49 years.
When he chooses the tools for the job from the toolbox, it's almost like Arnie in Commando. It's like he's choosing his weapons to go to war.
This guy is an inspiration. I can barely work up the will power to do simple jobs on my car in a garage, let alone benching a gearbox on my back in the snow. What a hero.
This is man is a legend.I love his work ethic. I wished more people were like him, the world would be a better place.
The hardest working man on CZcams for sure 💯
@Kevin-Albert Williams I admire you willingness to share the knowledge, that's rare. Keep it up sir.
