    You, sir, are a legend and you have my full respect for what you do on an almost daily basis, in all weather.
    The attention to detail where it comes to safety is excellent. I've added another pair of stands to my kit for my clutch job, which I'm hoping to tackle tomorrow. The DMF and full SACHS kit arrived from Germany, at last. Watching your videos really helps get a good picture of what I'm in for, so am actually looking forward to doing it. I've even taken plenty of time to learn how the CSC works and now have plenty of sealant, so I don't end up with fluid pouring out of the bell housing after I stitch it all together! That would kill me!
    Thanks again for sharing your awesome videos.

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  Před 3 lety +1

      Lee thanks for the feedback.
      I’m sure it’ll all go really well. What vehicle is it you are tackling tomorrow.
      With the csc remember not to dry bleed it as it will fail prematurely. Prime it instead.

    • @leenob
      @leenob Před 3 lety

      @@WMCS It's a 2013 Insignia 2.0 SRI (160bhp). I watched and studied the video you did on the 2014 Insignia, which looks identical to the one that I have.
      The procedure that I have planned is once the gearbox is back up and secure, re-attach the pipe to the elbow, fill the reservoir, and then pump the pedal (gently and partially at first, then full range as it begins to stiffen) enough so that it springs back with normal force, apply constant pressure on the pedal so it is held down whilst releasing the bleed nipple. Re-tighten and press the pedal a few times to make sure it retains its correct movement.
      Hopefully I have that right! The fun part will be taking out the DMF - it sounds terrible!
      Thanks so much for responding.

    I've subb'd - love the quality of work, attention to detail, discipline and methodicalness (if that's even a word) - all people offering a service/working in a trade should be this good and have pride in their work as you do. I can't imagine you ever having a screw/bolt left over after you've finished and wondering "where did that go?" ;) (meant that as a compliment!). You can tell the level of experience and knowledge you have on little points like leaving the socket on the tyre after you've finished so you can torque them all up quicker - lovely to watch - thank you

    Really enjoy watching these while washing up!!! Quick question: you always lower the car onto wood but I don't understand why? I only ever had to do that for lowered cars. If you could jack cars up then it should slide straight out, so whats the reason?

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  Před 3 lety

      Phil it’s exactly for that purpose. I don’t like the idea of the jack scraping under the car.

    Como propietario de un taller, durísimo lo que hace. Trabajar a la intemperie sin elevadores ni ninguna ayuda es para mí una salvajada. Su salud y sobre todo espalda no podrán aguantar muchos años. Tiene que trabajar bajo techo con temperatura adecuada disponer elevador y ayuda para desmontar y montar el cambio. Por favor cuídate mucho compañero.

    I have a Peugeot 2008 with clutch judder, the problem is intermittent. Every day I drive through a ford and sometimes it is quite high, could water leakage be the cause?

    Wondering what brand of spray bottle you use that stands up to brake cleaner.
    And just how thick are the mats you use.
    Great job , stay healthy.

      Scott the mats are quite thick and if you do get some. Go for the water resistant ones by Ryobi. Pressure bottle can be found on eBay.

    The jobs you tackle in far from ideal circumstances... Chapeau! I'm just a hobby mechanic with a small shed, often I have to work on my cars outside. I have been meaning to ask you: how do you keep your hands and fingers warm and why do you use so many axle stands? I like to learn from you, thank you!

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  Před 3 lety

      Axle stands is your lifeline. Hands can cope with cold. But if it’s below zero I use a diesel heater.

    Kevin has it all planned out. As soon as it in the air WD40 on the heads and thread. On the heads so the sockets will go on easier. On the threads like axle and ball joints so they don't jam up and gall. The pads allow him free movement under the car. They also stop the jack from rolling to easy whilst supporting the engine and trans. The height he jacks the car is such that he has the ideal arm extension to lift the trans and catch the input shaft into the disc. Subframes r his friend. Leave two bolts in and let it hang. Then use it as a place to rest the tranny while cleaning and mounting the throw out bearing. Clothing to protect the gut so the protrusions of the trans don't hurt so bad. Every move counts. It's a waltz. Love the long bar for those stubborn lower control arms. From 1973 to 1985 I used to pull àutomatic transmissions on my concrete driveway with a Wudel transmission jack. I couldn't roll them out on my belly. Car has to b a little higher to clear the bell housing. I used a creeper. But I watch and understand his every move. He is a rock star!!!!

      @@WMCS Good morning. I started on a creeper in around 1968. I’m an old geezer now, but still turning wrenches. I am privileged to have two racks and a pit in my backyard shop now, I remember vividly my years on the creeper. U have absolutely perfected the routine. The only thing I could humbly suggest is 3/8 impact wobblies with a long 1/2 by 3/8 extension. I often used your trick of a 1/2 inch universal midway the set up. I use a little headlamp tightly on my head with the beam focused on the bolt. U r young and likely have super vision, but the light is amazing. I have all the Milwaukee 12 ratchets except for the extended which I ordered this morning. If Milwaukee had any brains they would show u before the Ratchet and then after the ratchet. I bought strictly on watching your skillfull use of it. Today’s project is an 04 Scion that popped the head bolts. I have to do the whole time sert thing. Thanks again!!!!!
