These walls tell a story.
Most telling, is the axe in the cork board, with dried bloodstains. But also interesting is the candles in the candlestick atop the books, on the tables and shelves, and the chandelier... wholly burnt out, mere stubs, in most cases burnt all the way down into the holders which would make them hard to remove and change. And the ram skull, surrounded by three bones. No wandering animal dying here, this is ritualistic. And also interesting, is the painting of this very same room, but with a specter on the stairs. Furniture that hasn't been collapsed, but knocked over and left. A portrait on the wall of a woman wearing a goat head. A broken mirror, smashed about the middle like someone struck it, not like it broke when it fell.
I see, an occult ritual being performed. But it went wrong. Someone was killed. Then the house was abandoned all at once, with great haste. So much so that the candles were left burning to go out on their own, furniture knocked over left where it lay. The house has been left to sit since, untouched. Shunned. No one even came to clean up, so great is the fear of this house and the event that signalled its abandonment. Perhaps whatever was called up that night... is still here.
This is some very fine environmental storytelling. Well done.
