They must of been lemons, I don't see many around. My 96 GT Stang outlived them, though I LOVED my Camaro, and always will!!!!! You both take care and have a Lovely Christmastime!!!!
just a tip. usually one of the 3 grommets will come off with the air box. Usually stays on the box but may fall under your car. make sure you put it back in.

long as the keys off it wont throw a code with the maf unplugged ..suppose it helps to flush the stft's/ltft's though so it can start off with a fresh increased airflow learn.

Not sure how many miles you’re up to but anytime I remove my intake I always do a quick inspection behind the throttle body plate to look for any carbon/oil deposits. Good practice to wipe it out with some tb cleaner real quick to keep good idle quality’s 👍🏻

CJ Segars you have to unhook the maf sensor and will throw a code if the battery is left hooked up
it’s going to be more air flow so doing that will reset the computer so it doesn’t think something is wrong and throw the code like the guy said
