My sister has had that problem for years. They tried so many different ways to get her heart to a normal heart rate. They even stopped her heart once and re started it. Nothing seemed to help then one day it returned to normal. It started when we were kids and on occasion she would get light headed then pass out for a few minutes. The last 20 years it goes into a rapid heart beat for awhile then will return to a normal rate for awhile. She is 75 years old now and this has been happening most of her life. She seems to be able to deal with it but can be frustrating for her.

She'll get it, gotta crawl before you walk, it's just learning the does and don'ts, practice practice practice and building confidence. It helps to have a prestart checklist like 1. Check tire pressure 2. Do a walk around, 3. Start engine, check gauges.4. Etc.etc. you get the idea and maybe even practice the shifting while the car isnt running or just in the driveway, practice turning things on and off. She'll get it she's smart!

Sorry to hear about Westy, lost my dad to C but he never stopped fighting. I hope your scan goes well. Lauren was a natural in the FR but you’re face at times was brilliant. All the best from 🇬🇧
A friend of mine had that same thing happen with his heart, it would beat extremely fast for no reason, they were incorrectly treating him for panic attacks. Long story short he had a cardiac catheterization that discovered a tiny bit of build up on a valve in his heart preventing it from making a seal, causing his heart to beat extremely fast in an attempt to maintain normal blood pressure from time to time. Hopefully it's something simple like that... I'll be praying for you.

I woke up a few months ago gasping for air and my heart was literally feeling like it was about to beat out of my chest and it was at 138 beats per minute! As we get to our 30s now we have to watch our diet and exercise more frequently! Also I take a multi vitamin everyday now which helps with things you may not be getting from your diet that your body needs! Just food for thought I'm sure you've already thought of this or maybe do this too, but smoothies made from fresh fruits and veggies are a great snack and packed with vitamins and nutrients
Mine was 150 sitting 180 when I stood up. Don't think that was accurate cause the monitor is picking up the 2 separate electrical events and displaying the data as a true bpm. Other than the floppy fish feeling in my chest I felt completely fine when that happened to me. Stayed over night in the hospital then went home a and did a full detail on my car in 90* heat 😂😂

I have best cancer twice in 10 years I was 26 the first time and at stage 3. It’s beatable and my best advice is tell him to remember five words that helped me. FUCK CANCER! ITS MY BITCH! As far as your heart my grandfather got his first stint at 32 he’s now 92 years old has 14 stints just had a quadruple bypass and a valve replacement and he’s still going strong. And my fiancé has a heartbeat that’s irregular as well and she takes her daily meds and has absolutely no issues. My uncle had a quad bypass and a valve replacement too and is great! Just always know your better then anything that comes at you! You got this from a fellow first generation camaro owner!

Question about your afib. Have you drank lots of energy drinks in recent years? Mine developed after months of caffeine pills years ago before energy drinks were a thing. I can’t drink coffee or any energy drinks without getting in afib.
In my original comment I mentioned this as well. Caffeine aggravates mine I noticed since I was a little kid. I quit drinking pop with caffeine years ago atleast daily that is. Still have a coke on occasion or a redbull. Coffee doesn't seem to make any difference tho for me luckily.
Long read but I've had a very similar experience as you. Since I was about 8 I've noticed my heart feels like it skips a beat every once in a while throughout the day. More so when I go to lay down and relax it will feel like a fish flopping in my chest. Went to the doc and they said everything looks fine and say something if it gets worse. Fast forward to 2 years ago when I was 29 and my heart randomly went into full on AFIB sitting on the couch. It lasted 12 hrs then went back to normal on it's own. Took meds for a year after and wore a heart monitor for a month of that time. They never did catch another event they claimed, even tho I could feel it skip a beat multiple times a day. So far so good since then no AFIB events since just the normal skipped beat here and there. One thing that I noticed that effects it A LOT is caffeine and especially energy drinks lol no surprise there. Coffee in large amounts is fine but for some reason caffeine from soda or energy drinks mess with it. If i remember correctly you had a whole fridge dedicated to beer and energy drinks. The energy drinks could be the main culprit, I have a buddy that drinks a case of monster or bang a week and has gone to the hospital twice now for elevated heart rate.
