Behold, 20 years of raving has finally evolved into something beautiful.
This is me in the suit! Thanks for all the awesome comments!
im crying, Tesla would be proud
Adrian Moreno I wonder--do you think he ever thought his inventions could create music?
simply awesome!
Someone on America's Got Talent with real talent and brains to boot.
Teacher: What instrument do you play?
ArcAttack: I play the lightning!
I miss y'all so much.
This must be the first movie on youtube I've added to favorites!
Congratulations, sir. You have just made my list of most awesome job descriptions ever.
That is awesome!!! Thanks for posting!
i saw them yesterday live and it was amazing
wowow amazing job!
This is awesome!
That was Awesome!
Just so people don't ask constantly how it's done, I'll tell you. A full body layer of rubber, and copper and zinc wire wrapped around his hands, channeled down to his feet. The closer he gets to the tesla coils, the higher pitched the sound gets, that's oxygen and other various particles being heated up. When that electric current goes to the ground, it also translates into sound, and not just a bang.( thumb this up so the comments won't be flooded with the same question)
this is just incredible. My kind of rock star
looks really cool in the dark!
The force is strong in this one!
ththat was amazing
Oh my gosh that is the coolest thing ever!!!
OMFG!!!!! SO AWSOMME
these guys are kings
awesome!
The atmosphere there was certainly
Electrifying
Omg! This is so awesome!! O.O
EPIC!
POWER-ful music ! ! !
XO So awesome! I love High voltage!
If I remember the explanation correctly, the pitches are made by turning the Tesla coils on and off rapidly. If you turn it on and off a few hundred times a second, the "thunder" created each time you turn it off (air rushing back into where the lightning used to be) sounds like a musical pitch.
I NEED TO GET ONE OF THOSE SUITS!!! And some Tesla Coils
These guys are awesome, I hope they win America's got Talent
People are awesome!
The tesla coils are outputting a varying amount of power - the higher notes are produces by adding more, the lower notes are produced through lowering the current - the tesla coils are playing the music, it's just a very advanced technology that tesla himself would of never thought of
that guy is awesome
Doctor Who theme + Electricity + Guys from Texas = EPIC WIN!!
that is so cool! :)
I think four switches in H bridge configuration is used. The audio is frequency modulated and the carrier signal frequency is set to resonant frequency. THE fm modulated signal is further pulse width modulated which is then fed into Tesla coil
cool very cool control the energy with a special tute
I'm amazed the EL keeps working! Must take a lot of shielding. That and a LOT of work must have gone into the TCs. Getting equalish voltages out of them would be a right pain, BRAVO!
@listvisiter They never claimed the dancer is the one making the music happen. They just claimed the music is coming from the tesla coils, and it is. The keyboard's MIDI output is hooked into the tesla coils so the sparks occur at the right frequency to vibrate the air to make the sound.
That is awsome!!!!
Thumbs up*
these dudes are my nerdy heros
Awesome
@StrengthBeyondgym thaaanks :D
WoW now THAT is cool!
You just got immunity against the Electric Chair. Good job, soldier!
thats so crazy!
COOL!
wooooow this i would be so cool to see
very cool
@bankstare GLORIOUS
I'm gonna make one of this at my home, if i don't comment here in a few days, call my family!
He's literally Conducting Music!
isso q é show!!!
totalmente excelente!!!!!
79 people are just jealous that they don't have a toy like that...
love it lol
I was there it was EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeeeeaaaahhhh!!!
THAT IS SO COOL. THE DOCTOR WHO THEME
if you pull out a spark plug cable from your vehicle while the car is on, the cable which has the spark plug in it would be giving electrical sparks to ignite the gasoline and turn it into power for the motor, you can use the heat from the spark to light up a cigar but the electricity doesn't get conducted from the cigar to your little brain, only the heat produce by the electrical energy which is release in the air is absorb by the cigar as electricity heats up from the discharge.
how the hell could anyone dislike this?!
Anyone after Supercell's ArcAttack Musical Teslas??
Awesome! [=
I saw these guys at the VeX Robotics World Championships, they played the national anthem :P
@leorcc an online chat game where you fight stuff. ArcAttack! are doing a live event on the 22nd.
@BeanerOverTheBorder The thing is the millin volts does not run through the suit. Every single volt dissapears as it goes through the air. So the suit is basicly just a ground point, nothing to worry about :)
We saw them at Dragon Con, and I got a T-Shirt with the diagram of this on it, but it had a section missing.
@UltimateFezz7 The tesla coils create a vibrating wave so fast it makes a sound and the guy was wearing a metal, mesh suit which dispersed that electric wave so he didn't get shocked
@comic4relief
They're modified to act as plasma speakers. It takes some specialty equipment to get the signal type right though. The synth player dictates the frequency and when the coils turn on. They're limited to that square wave sound.
I want those Tesla coils for my front gate posts. Good way of keeping out the riff raff.
Notice the mutiple girls sceaming out "DOCTOR WHO" right there. Love!
THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING
THUMBS UP SIMPLY FOR THE DOCTOR WHO THEME!!!
Now watching Dr Telsla do a similer show 100 years ago. That must have been even cooler. Course he didnt have the music or the speacial suit but he did have the lightning in his hands.
genial bravo
@ptodic Theanks a lot.
@patpatboy2 if you pay close attention youll notice the solid state tesla coils light up with the music. its not the tesla coils making music . imagine the tesla coils as speakers, but instead of sound you get electricity.
aqworlds thanks thankss!!!!!!
this is how the world creates its superheroes and super villains.
fucking YES!
I wanna build one now!
on further review of their other videos its done using varying voltages and distances. so there is room for some slight mistakes
@B4LN Thanks! :D
First time for this video, and band. Never heard of them before period! A co-ed here at the workplace had left this particular site open and i looked in on it as one was obviously njot around. Anyway i watched it and had to make a comment. It looks futuristic, perhaps not the music, (which could of hailed out of the sixties byy the sounds of it), but the video. Reminds me of StarTrek but has been taken to a higher level & in the form of music and colour. Thx & I'LL BE BACK!!"
thanks to aq worlds i remebered these guys
That rock
Hi from new zaeland
Doctor Who needs that eerie high-pitch sound like the original theme had. They could use a Theramin for that, and it would fit their theme of messing with electricity and air to produce notes.
Wow,it is it is amazing.I heard this Friday on AdventureQuestWorlds got this event.Awesome.My char = GrimMiltonius
Tesla was the man - this video gets old after about 2 minutes.
@spacemarin37 The lightning will always strike the nearest target. Usually that's the performer. At 2:52 you can see what happens when the performer is too far away. The crowd is perfectly safe, as is the performer thanks to his suit (which leads the electricity "around" him through the wires in the suit, rather than through his body).
Cool :)
@incoherent07 Well ur mostly right but here is a little correction. The AC or alternating current is already turning on and off. Incredibly rapidly in fact. Its just a matter of changing that frequency to match the pitch. Also the air doesnt rush back to where the lightning used to be. The air rapidly expands as the lightning passes through it due to heat
You want a Tesla Coil. A machine that makes lightning... That's a crazy thing to wish for. Especially if you're not planning on getting an anti-shock suit.
Cool
i wouldnt want to be the first person to try this out !
wow :O
WTF MAKER FAIR BAY AREA?!?!?! im in the bay!! omfg kipkay! we coulda hooked up and went lol
damn cant believe these guys didnt go past quarter finals in americas got talent but damn they were good
that is friggen WICKED!
lol at 0:15
"what you see are testicles, but not just any testicles, these guys are solid steel"
