Elsewhere, Hammond is being interviewed at the dentist & Clarkson at a pub.
"I've not had my teeth done!"
@@GintaPPE1000 Just read that with a British accent
DinoBlockHD I read it in Jeremy’s voice lmao
But aren’t apes not allowed in pubs?
Clarkson has got pneumonia again!
"Richard Hammond effectively has a bigger house than the rest of us because he's smaller." Savage but also true and hilarious. Definitely an awesome dude. Would love to see him do stand-up.
That's a comment right up there with Seinfeld saying that he laments the room being smaller after he paints. Brilliant!
James would be the sort of stand up who’d do his gig sitting down haha that’s just how laid back and chilled out he is
"Richard Hammond: he's like a person, only smaller." - James May
@Matt man True that
Matt man it takes 10+ years to get your voice as a comic and 20+ to be an actual comedian, Seinfeld himself says “Your number of years performing stand up is your age in standup aswell, if you’ve been doing it for three years you’re three years old”
I can listen to James talking about random stuff for hours
You’re the opposite of Jeremy
Well, I have something for you. James may random general knowledge chat. There's 2 parts and both on youtube
Ur the only one lol
Small Moustache Man he is indeed my favorite motor journalist
I dont think so mate !! Pretty disgusting i think ! Sorry my friend

Tip 1 - pause.
Tip 2 - fair enough.
1. Read quicker
2. Have better background knowledge on cars 😝
@@petea7323 2nd this
Tip 3 - Unveil what's in the basement of that barber shop
Yes on Tip 1. Cars weren't too bad as I only looked up the Alpine A110 and the 320i. Both are sweet looking rides and fairly reasonable in cost.
Probably the nicest of the trio, and quite a Renaissance man...philosopher, historian, etc.....fantastic interview, thanks James!
Agreed
But a sloth would find him quite fast! LOL I guess it's all relative. Even when his mates were calling him Captain Slow, he was still driving faster than I've ever gone!
@@eleven99 Thats what makes captain slow unique
Still he thinks new is better... England used to have Led Zeppelin, Hardy of Alnwick (which was better before), Sweden had Volvo and Saab, Norway had Thor and Odinn, no Christian churches or salmon farming, people used to read Leo Tolstoy and Hemingway, but now they don't even have the attention span to read a Facebook comment longer than two sentences. Now we also just have electric cars with paper mache chassis and underbody, Cardi B and Muslims in non-islamic countries... We used to have amazing rolemodels like Jack Kerouac, and now we have f'n Logan Paul and Jake Paul... And last, but not least: Clarkson, May and Hammon used to run Top Gear..!
@@eleven99 He's only slow compared to the other two. He can actually drive pretty fast when he wants to.
I know that some people don't like James May, because he goes on with everything for hours. But i could listen to this guy talk about anything for hours!
I am. I am also high tho
I like them all the same but James me definitely has a swag out of the other two... Richard Hammond has the quirkiness and funniness. And then Jeremy Clarkson is just LOL well Jeremy Clarkson
@@ooferrell Jeremy Clarkson: "POWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH"
It's one of those things where an intelligent person that knows a great deal of the subject matter can simplify it in great length but that also takes time to explain for people who don't understand. I like listening to May for this reason, the man knows his shit.

No front engine car? No Fiat Panda? No Dacia Sandero? Oh James...
And no Toyota Yaris as in that unboxing video?
I remember him owning an old Rolls Royce...
Indeed, the Corniche, he even had it in one episode of the Top Gear against Clarkson's Mercedes Grosser
@@AlejjSi He was allergic to seat material in Cornische so he got rid of it. Seems like he really got rid of all front engine cars. Although I was thinking he was still having Phantom that he bought new not long time ago.
He ditched the Panda when he bought the i3, I believe, and insofar as I know, he never actually owned a Sandero, he was just generally fond of it.
Never trust a thin chef, a drummer in a suit, or a barber in a hat.
why not a drummer in a suit? I get the other two
@@explosionsandstuff7787 I'm thinking the sweat. Most drummers I've seen are topless (Van Halen) etc. But looking good shouldn't be a crime.
A thin chef 😂
Hes right. Jazz drummers are not to be trusted.
Counter point: always go to the barber with the worst hair because they aren't the one who did it.
James May is my favourite of the trio. I'd watch almost anything he is in.
Can I just say how much I respect James for admitting that his favorite car journalist is arguably his biggest rival
He and Chris Harris are also old friends from back before either of them did Top Gear.
And chris is really good
James may watches Chris Harris!!
Arjun achar idk why that makes me happy
Everyone watches chris harris, that's a fact
Chris Harris is actually a dam-good man in the wrong show, he can start a new show but not the name TG.
koo jaba not really. He can't really go anywhere better. At tg he's getting the pay he deserves
They are also occasionally talking about car stuff on twitter and I guess even more behind the scenes.
Is it just me or does everything James says come across as humorous...keep up the good work James.
At 2:20 the guy in the mirror has the biggest jacket ever fitted to a person.
Sniklefritzz1 What the FUCK
The Grand Tour should be like this to have a winning formula:
Use Amazon for cinematic purposes/journeys, and DriveTribe for vlogs, car reviews and then just having genuine laughter.
I wish grand tour was on a network on my cable because I need this show in my life and need these guys
They just need a decent presenter for Drivetribe. They used to have the tall guy with the side burns (forgot his name) but he went to Carfection.

Nice to hear him mention Chris Harris. (not insinuating he watches Top Gear, just nice to hear the acknowledgement of Chris' work)
I agree. I don't think any of them hold a grudge against chris Harris as a TG presenter. He is a very knowledgeable person when it comes to cars and motorsports.
TBH it's highly unlikely he doesn't watch it
James the great philosopher!
„Past never was better than present. Otherwise we would live in!“

Hope your day got better. I've got COVID. Contracted it from the one person who I thought would get super ill from it. She only had a minor cold, I had a fever and a lung infection :(
Nice to have a down to Earth interview without pretence or silliness.

James is, by far, the most Gentlemanly presenter I have EVER seen/watched/listened to.

Now James is my favorite of the 3. [I am from Chongqing and love the noddles.]
Season 3 has a solid format. The jokes and everything else feels less forced like the previous 2 seasons.
Shocking to see that he likes a Swift though.
I do wish they kept the theme song from season 1 though.
If you watch old top gear, he also like the swift back then

Sad but true - daa da da da didudidudi - daa da da da didudidudi...
I do like Captain Slow. "Everything newer is better" YAY! When I went to a certain 'leisure facility' where he'd been recently filming - one of the guys there caught him muttering to himself and he was 'counting frames' to see how much time they'd got left. I love that sort of eccentric O.C.D ness. And yes, I'm also sending my watch back to the repairers - as the counters don't precisely re-set to the right points. These things DO matter...
Wish James would come to Boston. I’d come through, buy him a beer and talk about the universe and stuff. Genuine person he is.

One of the surgeons where I worked owned a Ferrari 308. He was a small man and the car fit him like an Italian suit. The problem was the Ferrari was that it was never able to go into reverse.
