Chocolate rarely goes bad. And when it does its just the fat that goes bad but you can still eat 30yo chokolate.
When I did my national service in 2001, we were issued the Swedish forces’ famous Chocolate Crisp - made in 1984. It’s delicious.

The chocolate has just been stored too warm. It looks unappealing but I'm sure it's perfectly fine to eat.
The sugars crystallise and make it pale. From what I understand it does little to affect the product other than cosmetically.

Sometimes the bars in our compo rat boxes would get a little crumbly was all when bloomed but still edible - must have eaten hundreds of bloomed Yorkies and Caxton choc bars

@@SikhSoldier2010 There are two types of bloom, but neither are bad, its the separation of sugar(or in some cases fats) from the chocolate; which settle on the outside of the chocolate.
